      A boat tour of Thonburiโ€™s khlongs, the numerous canals because of which Bangkok is also known as the "Venice of the East," will introduce you to the city from the water. Far from the skyscrapers and heavy traffic, Thonburi reveals a more traditional side of Bangkok with old wooden row houses, floating markets and cookshops, quaint and sparkling temples and a simple lifestyle. The boat tour takes you to the famous temple of Wat Arun, located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. After a lunch break, explore more multi-faceted temples and end your sightseeing program in the late afternoon at Wat Saket, which, perched on a hill, is known for its unique 360-degree view of Bangkok.       You leave Bangkok and already another highlight of your trip is waiting for you! Visit the impressive temple complex of Ayutthaya (UNESCO World Heritage Site), an open-air museum of Buddhist high culture. Many temples, monasteries, palaces and monumental sculptures still bear witness to its former glory. Afterwards, you will pass through lush landscapes to reach a local village where you will get an insight into the manufacturing process of various types of drums as well as natural cosmetic products. Your destination for today is the town of Uthai Thani, which is located off the main traffic route between Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Here you will visit probably the most beautiful temple in the country, the breathtaking crystal temple Wat Tha Sung as well as the impressive Golden Temple. After checking in at your hotel, take advantage of a small lesson to learn a few words in Thai that you will definitely be able to use during your trip. 1 night in Uthai Thani. (F)

On the way to Sukhothai, pay a visit to the historical park Kamphaeng Phet and then reach the first capital of the Siamese kingdom. In the late afternoon, as the area slowly empties, join your guide in roaming the mysterious temple ruins of Sukhothai (UNESCO World Heritage Site).       Today you continue your journey towards Phrae, capital of the province of the same name in the northern region of Thailand and an ancient Khmer principality. On the way, you will visit a local dyeing factory where you can learn more about the local dyeing process and design and dye your own cloth napkin.       You will start the day with a visit to two well-preserved residences of the last nobles of Phrae, which combine traditional Lanna architecture with European style.       After visiting the "Blue Temple" Wat Rong Sua Ten, today you will take a trip to the Golden Triangle.
