Day 2: Bangkok Cycling - Transfer To Kanchanaburi

After breakfast, our driver will pick you up from the hotel lobby and take you to Rajadamnoen Klang Road near Khao San Road in Banglamphu to start the historic Bangkok bike tour. After a quick bike fitting and briefing, youโ€™re off. To begin, youโ€™ll meander through the side streets of Bangkokโ€™s suburbs and small riverside alleys, cross the famous Rama VIII Bridge, and then ride through a local community. There are no busy expressways for you: This is the real Bangkok, and youโ€™ll be cycling right through it. Youโ€™ll follow the path along the Bangkok Noi Canal, which will take you to the spectacular Wat Arun. The relaxing bike ride here wonโ€™t leave you breathless, but this incredible Bangkok landmark will definitely take your breath away. This temple is known for its intricate architectural design and historical significance. At this point, take a moment to enjoy the view and learn from your local guide about what Wat Arun and the surrounding area have to offer. From Wat Arun, head back across the river to Pranakorn via the beautiful Memorial Bridge. Here you will visit another impressive temple, Wat Suthat, which houses the largest seated golden Buddha in Thailand. The sight of this huge Buddha is another unforgettable moment in Bangkok, and the temple where it sits is equally magnificent. If these two temples werenโ€™t legendary enough for you, your last stop on this Bangkok city tour will take you to Sao Ching Cha, a giant swing that represents the movement of the god Shiva, and each part of the swing represents different parts of the earth. The third epic landmark of Bangkok and perfect photo motif. From here you will return to the starting point of the tour, where your Bangkok bike adventure for today ends. There you can explore further, or your local guide can direct you back to your accommodation. This day tour is a gentle 20km journey through the lanes and canals of Bangkok and is suitable for anyone who can ride a bike. No professional skills or cycling champion medals necessary! We will provide you with bikes and helmets, as well as all the local know-how of our Bangkok teams. Afterwards, head back to the hotel for a quick refreshment before we head to Kanchanaburi (about 2.5 hours). The evening is at leisure.

      Day 3: Kanchanaburi

Early morning transfer from your hotel to Erawan Waterfall, which was declared Thailandโ€™s 12th National Park in June 1975. The entire park covers a hilly area of 550 kmยฒ. The eastern mountains rise nearly 1,000 meters with rugged limestone cliffs. These mountains protect the area from the eastern monsoon, resulting in low average rainfall. The weather is hot in summer, but cool between November and February. The main attraction of the park is the impressive 7-tiered Erawan Waterfall. We then head to the Hellfire Pass Memorial, built to honor the Allied prisoners of war and Asian conscripts who died building some of the most difficult stretches of the Thai-Burma railroad. Recommendation at Erawan Waterfall: Please come with swimwear, extra change of clothes, flip-flops or sandals, sunscreen and bug spray.

Day 4: Cycling Kanchanaburi - Transfer To Ayuthaya

After breakfast, our guide will take you to the starting point of the bike tour at the infamous bridge over the River Kwai, which was the target of frequent Allied bombing raids during World War II and was rebuilt after the war ended. The curved spans of the bridge are the original parts. We will visit the Kanchanaburi Soldiersโ€™ Cemetery. The infamous Burma-Siam Railway, built by Commonwealth, Dutch and American POWs, was a Japanese project driven by the need for improved communications to support the large Japanese army in Burma. During construction, approximately 13,000 POWs died and were buried along the railroad. In addition, an estimated 80,000 to 100,000 civilians lost their lives during the project, mainly forced laborers from Malaya and the Dutch East Indies or conscripts from Siam (Thailand) and Burma (Myanmar). We make a final stop at the Thailand Burma Railway Centre (TBRC), an interactive museum privately funded and run by Rod Beattie, an Australian who is an expert on the history of the Thailand-Burma Railway. We then cycle back to the hotel for check-out, from there we transfer to the hotel in Ayuthaya (about 3 hrs transfer time), check-in and overnight.
