After arriving at Málaga airport, you will drive your rental car to the 4* Parador Gibralfaro in Málaga. Situated above the old town, opposite the former Moorish fortress, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Mediterranean and the city from the Parador. With 550,000 inhabitants, Málaga is a lively port city that has developed a special charm through its normal Andalusian everyday life and invites you to discover its own 2,500-year-old history. The Parador is also known for its excellent cuisine. Day 3 Cordoba

You will pass through the land of liquid gold with its countless olive groves, visit an oil mill including olive oil tasting and then continue through typical Andalusian landscapes into the fertile valley of the Guadalquivir to Córdoba. In Córdoba, Moorish Spain experienced its first and probably never again achieved spiritual, cultural and economic heyday. Visit the large Mezquita mosque-cathedral with its forest of 800 columns and the picturesque alleyways of the Judería with the only surviving synagogue in southern Spain. We also recommend a trip to the former residence of the Spanish caliphs, Madinat az-zahra, which is situated in an imposing location in the Sierra Morena just outside Córdoba. 2 overnight stays in Córdoba.

On a guided city tour, you will discover the capital of Andalusia, Seville: the largest Gothic cathedral in the world with the city’s landmark, the Giralda, the former minaret of the Almohad mosque and the Alcázar, one of the most outstanding examples of Andalusian Mudejar architecture. An individual walk through María Luisa Park takes you to the sites of the 1929 Universal Exposition, such as Plaza España and Plaza de América and its pavilions. The town of Carmona lies on a fertile plain. It was founded by the Cathars and a visit means a journey through time in the footsteps of the different cultures that have inhabited the town throughout history. Worth seeing are the Roman necropolis, the well-preserved former Moorish city wall with its mighty city gate, from whose tower you have an impressive view over the city. The Parador with its excellent restaurant is located in the former castle of King Don Pedro from the 14th century.

Day 5 Jerez De La Frontera - Cadiz

Drive towards the Atlantic coast to Jerez de la Frontera - a former border town between Moorish and Christian Spain - today the city of sherry, horse stud farms and bull farms. The Alcázar, a Moorish palace fortress from the 11th century, towers over a hill in the town. Visit to a sherry bodega with tasting, where you will discover the world of sherry production. The Spanish Riding School, where pure-bred Spanish horses are trained, is also worth a visit. Continue to the Atlantic coast to Cádiz, the oldest city in Europe, which is bathed by the Atlantic and juts out into the sea like a fist. Founded by the Phoenicians, it enchants visitors with its charm and is reminiscent of the glorious days of the Spanish Empire.
