      Today you fly from Frankfurt to Algiers. Welcome to Algeria’s capital, the cultural and economic center of the country, situated in a bay on the Mediterranean. On arrival at the airport, you will be met and taken to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Algiers - Tipasa - Flight To The Oasis Of Djanet

      Day 2: Algiers - Tipasa - Flight To The Oasis Of Djanet

      Today you will visit the ruined city of Tipasa, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is located around 50 km from Algiers on the coast. After the visit, you return to Algiers and have dinner in the capital before a late domestic flight takes you to Djanet, in the middle of the central Sahara. Until the late 19th century, the small town was one of the main settlements of the Tuareg. Overnight stay in a hotel.

      Day 3: Tuareg People - Rock Engravings Of Tin Terhert

      After a city tour with a visit to the lively market, you will drive to Tassili-n’Ajjer National Park. Here you will get to know your accompanying team for the coming days in the desert. You follow the tracks of the Tuareg on roads and sandy tracks. Further north, you pass the small village of Zaouatallez before crossing the pass to reach a black, rocky lunar landscape - the Fadnoun plateau. You continue your discovery tour in Dider, where you can view the famous rock engravings of Tin Terhert. The "Sleeping Gazelle" and the "Curly Cow" are two of the most famous animal engravings. Then continue to Idaren. Overnight stay in a tent. (Walking time approx. 3-4 hours).

      Day 4: Guelta Hike From Idaren To Iherir

      The desert is calling - on a hike through a varied landscape that you would not expect to find in the desert. Through gorges, past impressive rock formations, the trail leads you through lush reed beds to the gueltas. During a visit to a traditional Zeriba village, you will learn more about the everyday life of the locals before reaching the idyllic oasis of Iherir. End the day in the shade of the palm groves, tamarisk and oleander trees and enjoy the hospitality of the villagers. Return to Idaren. Overnight stay as on the previous day. (walking time approx. 5-6 hours).

      From the camp you descend from the plateau southwards to the Oued Essendilene. The off-road vehicles will take you as far down into the valley as possible. Today’s hike begins near Essendilene. After about an hour, you will reach the Guelta Tihoutaouine carved into the rock. You then continue through a wide sandy valley past a keyhole tomb and the first striking rock arches. In the afternoon you reach the camp site where the camels and your guides for the upcoming camel trek are already waiting for you. Overnight stay in a tent. (Walking time approx. 3-4 hours).

      After loading your luggage and equipment onto the sturdy camels, the desert trekking can begin. On foot and/or on one of the good-natured "desert ships", the Tassili region has something impressive to offer you. In the vast desert plains and shallow dune fields, the play of shadows and clouds create ever-changing landscapes. Follow the secrets of the Sahara on this journey through the Neolithic period. Let your local guide introduce you to the world of stories, myths and legends. 3 nights in a tent. (Daily walking time approx. 5-6 hours).

  • Day 7 Day 9: Sand Dunes Of Erg Admer - "La Vache Qui Pleure" - Djanet

      Day 9: Sand Dunes Of Erg Admer - "La Vache Qui Pleure" - Djanet

      Drive back to the oasis of Djanet via the fascinating sand dune region of Erg Admer. On the way, pay a visit to "La Vache qui pleure". The "weeping cow" is considered one of the most mysterious and at the same time one of the most famous representatives of prehistoric engravings. End the evening in peace and quiet after a refreshing shower. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Day 8 Day 10-12: Hikes In The Tadrart

      Day 10-12: Hikes In The Tadrart

      You leave the Tassilli and head south into the dune landscapes of the Tadrart. Extensive hikes take you on foot through the Sahara sand, past impressive dune massifs and unusual rock formations. In the light of the "blue hour", the surroundings turn into a sea of different shades of color and become a fantastic photo backdrop. In Tehak, you will visit one of the largest free-standing rock arches in the Sahara before visiting the Slot Canyon in the afternoon. The last evening you camp not far from the "Dunes Noires", the black dunes of fine-grained black graphite sand. 3 nights in a tent. (Daily driving time approx. 5-6 hours, walking time day 12: approx. 2-3 hours).

  • Day 9 Day 13: Drive To Djanet
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 13: Drive To Djanet

      After a final "farewell walk", drive back to Djanet. Here you have the opportunity to wash off the desert dust of the last few days and buy traditional Tuareg handicrafts. After lunch with your escort team and farewell, you will be taken to your hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Day 10 Day 14: Djanet - Sightseeing Of Algiers

      Day 14: Djanet - Sightseeing Of Algiers

      In the early morning, you fly from Djanet back to Algiers, also known as the "white pearl of the Mediterranean". After breakfast, you will visit the capital, which stretches out in a crescent shape in a bay on the Mediterranean. Discover the old Kasbah, beautiful colonial architecture and colorful markets of the city. Overnight stay at the hotel.

      Day 15: Departure

      Today it’s time to say goodbye to the desert state. Depending on your departure time, you will be transferred from your hotel to the airport for your return journey to Germany. Ma’a salama Algeria!
