Day 1: Make your way to Silves

Pass By: Silves, Portugal
You can ride to Silves from anywhere in the Algarve. Please send us your location of departure and we will suggest a route based on your wishes.
For example from Hotel Faro in Faro you will ride aprox. 75 km with +/- 500 climbing meters.
Also we can pick you up by mini-van, from the airport or any other location between Sagres and Faro (not included in the price)

Accommodation included: Hotel Colina dos Mouros is a comfortable 3 star hotel with a designated secure bike storage. 10 minutes walk to Silves.

Day 2: Silves > Picota > Foia > Monchique

Stop At: Picota, 8550 Monchique, Portugal
Today you will ride from Silves passing orange groves whilst the storks are circleing in the distance.
Your destination is to cycle around the peak of Picota towards the village of Monchique.

Arriving in the mountain village of Monchique in the heart of the Serra de Monchique our GPS route leads you to Cafe da Vila for a well deserved lunch.

Stop At: Mount Foia, Serra de Monchique, Monchique Portugal
After lunch our GPS route leads you via quiet back roads uphill to the peak of Foia at 902 mtrs.

Stop At: Estalagem Abrigo Da Montanha, Estrada da Foia, 8550-257 Monchique, Portugal
After youยดve left the summit of Foia, it is a short descend to this fine B&B on the sunny south slope of the Serra de Monchique. Check, grab a drink on the terrace and soak in the views to the south and west coast.

Stop At: Serra de Monchique, 8550, Portugal
Today you will ride aprox. 45 km with -720m and +1220m
There is a shortcut that leaves out the peak of Mt. Foia at 900 meters and reduces the climbing meters.
There is also an extra loop that includes the Picota at 773mtrs should you wish to conquer both peaks in the green Serra de Monchique.

โ€ข Dinner: Dinner here is included and is usually Monchiqueยดs speciality "chicken piri-piri". We can cater for special wishes.
Accommodation included: Abrigo da Montanha, a fine 3 star Pension/Bed & Breakfast on the south slope of Mt. Foia.
It has secure bike storage.

Day 3: Monchique > Carrapateira

Pass By: 8550-145 Marmelete, Portugal
In this charming mountain village you may decide to stop for a coffee with a slice of the local home made almond cake.

Day 4: Carrapateira > Sagres lighthouse at Cape Saint Vicente

Today you will be riding to the iconic lighthouse on the most south west point of Europe.
