Your very first adventure on the way to Fátima: a stopover in Óbidos! The enchanting small town takes you on a journey through time: Stroll through the colorful alleyways of the old town, browse the small stores and get your foodie heart racing with Portuguese delicacies. You can even take a walk above the city on the mighty, centuries-old city wall! The countless white houses lie at your feet and the view of the surrounding countryside is fantastic. Memory photos in the box? Then head for Fátima, the holiest city in Portugal. Why is that? The Virgin Mary is said to have appeared here many, many years ago!

One last breakfast, one last walk along your favorite spots: Stretch all your limbs again before you get back in your rental car and continue your road trip through Portugal.
Where are you going? To Évora! The capital of the Alentejo region is a real hotspot for history buffs. Even from afar, you can see the ruins of a Roman temple perched on a hill above the city - a foretaste of what awaits you in the alleyways of the historic old town. After checking in, you immediately make your way to the city center. The arcade-lined Praça do Giraldo square with the Igreja de Santo Antao church is the heart of the city and the perfect starting point for your discovery tour. Street musicians play the soundtrack to the hustle and bustle as you stroll through the many small alleyways, marvel at the gleaming white facades and browse the souvenir stores.

Before you make your way to your new accommodation today, it’s worth making a detour to Monsaraz. The small village lies high up on a mountain and looks like it has fallen out of time with its whitewashed houses and medieval castle. Enjoy the tranquillity of this dreamy little place and take in the spectacular views of the surrounding countryside until the thirst for adventure starts to tingle in your fingers again.
Time to take the wheel again! Where are we going? To the Algarve! You can hardly wait to finally lie on the fine sand of the vast beaches that have long been the subject of your dreams. Once you arrive in Monte Gordo, you have one last stopover before your beach bliss: You’re drawn to the marshland between Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António. Slip on your hiking boots and admire the flamingos wading through the water-rich area and breathe in the scent of the orange and lemon groves. But now: off to the beach, which is just a stone’s throw away from your accommodation!

Have you noticed that your accommodation is just a few hundred meters from the Spanish border? On a morning stroll to the Guadiana river on the border, you wave to Portugal’s neighbors as you make plans for the day. Before you jump into the waves of the Atlantic today, you get back into the rental car and drive a few kilometers west. Your destination: the Ria Formosa Nature Park! You know those places where you stand and can’t believe they’re real? The nature park is a unique labyrinth of canals, salt marshes, mudflats, sandbanks and marshland. Dominated by the tides, the landscape is constantly changing. One minute small islands are rising out of the water, the next they are swallowed up by the tide. Follow the countless hiking trails and keep your eyes peeled - with a bit of luck you might spot flamingos, purple hens and white storks! By the way - there are also beautiful secluded beaches to relax on!

It’s time to pack your bags again! The pain of saying goodbye is limited, because there are still a few ticks to put on your Algarve bucket list. So: get in the rental car and off you go! First, see for yourself whether Praia da Falésia really is as beautiful as the photos on all the platforms promise. Meter-high cliffs that glow the most beautiful shades of red in the warm light of the sun, golden sand and turquoise sea - the famous beach exceeds all expectations! You can stay here for a while before moving on.
Your destination: Portimão! Here you board a boat with other adventurers and set off for the next highlight - the famous Benagil caves! An entrance opens up from the sea, through which you discover the mystical cave. The sun shines through a hole in the cave ceiling and makes the sea below you shimmer in hundreds of shades of turquoise. At Praia da Marinha, there is still time to dive into the deep blue sea before you get back behind the wheel and head for your accommodation in Lagos. So, have you made plans for the evening?

You wind your way along the steep cliffs on a beautiful coastal road, making spectacular photo stops time and again: Praia do Beliche, a hidden dream beach framed by meter-high cliffs, or the Fortaleza de Beliche fortifications. And suddenly your destination for the day appears on the horizon: the end of the world! In Cabo de São Vicente, you are standing 60 meters above sea level on the most south-westerly point of the European mainland. What’s more, the strongest lighthouse in the whole of Europe towers above you. But that’s not all: hold on tight, because this dream location is not only known for its view, but above all for one thing: this is where you can get the last sausage before America. Enjoy your meal!
