Day 1: Arrival in St Petersburg. Transfer to the Ship

On arrival at St Petersburgโ€™s airport, youโ€™ll be met by our driver who will be carrying a company sign. Heโ€™ll transfer you to the ship for a welcome cocktail reception.

Day 2: City Tour around St. Petersburg. Visit to the Hermitage

Stop At: St. Petersburg, St. Petersburg, Northwestern District
Today weโ€™ll leave the ship to explore this most elegant of Russian cities. Its legacy of history and the arts has delighted many a visitor and weโ€™re sure youโ€™ll be blown away by its striking beauty. Our guided tour will ensure you donโ€™t miss any of the cityโ€™s must-sees. The fortress complex of the Cathedral of Peter and Paul, which before the revolution housed political prisoners, features a splendid cathedral inside which youโ€™ll find the tombs of the Romanovs.

Along the banks of the River Neva youโ€™ll see the magnificent Hermitage museum. This world class museum was once the Winter Palace of the Tsars and now houses over three million priceless works of art.

Day 3: Arrival in Mandrogi. Free Time in the Village

We cruise to Mandrogi today. This pretty village sits amidst tranquil forest, perfect for a wander. Weโ€™ll be met by the villagers who will introduce us to the local culture and traditions and then you can learn more about the production of vodka at Remeslennaya Sloboda (optional). A buffet lunch of shashlik (shish kebab) is provided. Thereโ€™ll be free time to explore on your own before we reboard the ship.

Day 4: Arrival in Kizhi. Visit to the Open-air Museum of Wooden Architecture

Stop At: Kizhi State Open-Air Museum of History, Architecture and Ethnography, Kirova Sq., 10A, Kizhi 185000 Russia
The tiny island of Kizhi is our stop today, accessed via the Volga-Baltic Canal which will take us to the northern end of Lake Onega. There, we will visit the renowned open-air Museum of Wooden Architecture, its exhibits collected from various areas of the country and restored to their former glory. The Church of the Transfiguration, with its 22 domes, is the ultimate in Russian fairy-tale church architecture.

Day 5: Arrival in Goritsy. Visit to the Largest Monastery of the Russian North

Goritsy is our port of call today, a tiny settlement where the largest Russian Orthodox monastery of the Russian North, the Kirillo-Belozersky monastery, is located. After exploring the monastery, weโ€™ll continue our river journey in the afternoon.

Day 6: Arrival in Uglich. Visit to the Cathedral of the Resurrection and the Kremlin

Uglich, founded in 1148, is todayโ€™s destination and the approach by river is surely one of the highlights of this cruise. Youโ€™ll see the fantastic skyline dominated by the Cathedral of the Resurrection and St. John's Church which tower on the horizon. At the end of the 16th century, this is the place where the seventh wife of the Tsar Ivan the Terrible lived in honorary exile in the Kremlin, one of the stops on our guided tour today.

Day 7: Arrival in Moscow. City Tour around Moscow. Visit to the Kremlin

Stop At: Moscow, Moscow, Central Russia
The boat will remain docked in Moscow while we disembark for a sightseeing tour of the lively Russian capital. The city's eclectic mix of architecture, verdant parks, leafy avenues and of course, the granite embankments of the Moscow River make for a superb introduction to your holiday. Our guided bus tour will begin with a panoramic view from the Sparrow Hills observation platform before visiting the city centre with its busy streets and popular squares. You'll be able to see the Bolshoi theatre and, a short distance away, St Basil's Cathedral located in Red Square.

Stop At: Moscow Kremlin, Moscow 103132 Russia
We revisit Red Square today to take a closer look at the Kremlin. It's the former home of the Tsars and now the current base of the Russian president. Today you can also enjoy an optional visit to the Armoury Museum, where you'll admire many of the treasures of the Tsars.
