Day 1: Cairo

Arrive in Cairo International Airport (CAI) today! You will be transferred from the airport to your accommodation. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 2: Cairo โ€“ Train โ€“ Luxor

Pass By: Luxor, Luxor, Nile River Valley
This morning after breakfast, drives out to Giza and visit two of Egyptโ€™s most iconic landmarks such as pyramids, inside second pyramid and the graceful Great Sphinx of Giza. Then we visit the Egyptian Museum to wander between galleries and exhibits that showcase an incredible collection of antiquities, artefacts and local treasures.

You will be transferred to the railway station this evening. Your accommodation is aboard overnight sleeper train bound for Luxor tonight. The two-berth cabins convert to bunk beds and all bedding is provided. Meals are served in-cabin, please bringing your own food if you have dietary requirements.

Day 3: Luxor โ€“ Nile Cruise

The train rolls into Luxor in the early morning and breakfast is served in-cabin. Today, we explore Luxor, this vibrant city features a bustling bazaar and is close to Karnak, the location of the eponymous temple complex. After, you will be welcome aboard the Nile cruise boat. Lunch and Dinner are served after you settle into your cabin and begin to take advantage of the on-board facilities or disembark and continue exploring Luxor at your leisure.

Day 4: The Valley of the Kings โ€“ Edfu

Today enjoy your breakfast on an early morning, we visit the Valley of the Kings. This site holds more than 60 tombs and is home to Tutankhamunโ€™s final resting place. Our guide will offer insight into the funerary rites of ancient Egyptians and some of the paintings and hieroglyphics around the complex. Then we continue to visit three royal tombs, Hatshepsut Temple and the Colossi of Memnon. It is back to the boat for lunch and to set sail for Edfu.

Day 5: Edfu โ€“ Kom Ombo โ€“ Aswan

Enjoy your breakfast while cruising boat while sailing towards Kom Ombo.

Wake in your cabin this morning to find the cruise moored near Edfu. The boat then continues its way up the Nile towards Kom Ombo. Expected arrival time is in the afternoon, so travellers can kick back on the sundeck and watch the passing landscape. Learn about the Kom Ombo temple upon arrival. It sits on the riverfront and is dedicated to two gods: Horus and Sobek. The boat embarks for Aswan at 6pm with an expected arrival time of 9.30pm.

Day 6: Aswan

Or, visitors may choose to wander through the Nubian Bazaar, stroll the promenade or relax with a cup of mint tea at a local cafe. Tonight is your final evening spent aboard the Nile river cruise.

Day 7: Aswan โ€“ Abu Simbel โ€“ Aswan

Disembark from the cruise this morning and hop onto a private coach for a trip to the Abu Simbel temples. One of the most recognisable features of this site is the set of four statues of Ramses that guard the entrance to the Great Temple. Head back out onto the water this afternoon aboard a traditional Egyptian felucca for a joy ride to some of the nearby river islands. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Aswan Airport for your flight to Cairo. On arrival, we visit a new facet to the cityโ€™s history: its medieval past. Roam between market stalls and alleyways in Al-Azhar, an area that is also known as โ€˜the Khanโ€™. Also see the Mosque of Ibn Tulun.

Day 9: Alexandria

After breakfast, today we take a full day tour of Alexandria, is a large port city that sits on the Mediterranean coastline. Explore about the cityโ€™s origins as an homage to Alexander the Great, and its place as a cultural, political, economic and intellectual centre. Spend the day viewing the relics of a bygone age these are a highlight of Alexandria and Roman Amphitheatre. After lunch, we continue to visit the Catacombs, Pompeiiโ€™s Pillar and Qaitbay Citadel from outside. There is also an opportunity to go underground and see the Kom ash-Shuqqafa catacombs, a Roman burial site that was uncovered by a lost donkey.

After breakfast, the driver will come to your hotel to transfer you to Wadi Rum to the beautiful desert valley of Wadi Rum, made famous by T E Lawrence. This wild landscape is all sandstone mountains, desolate desert and wind-eroded rock formation. Freshen up at your campsite before climbing into the back of a 4WD Jeep for a 2-hour tour. As you make your way through the canyons and across the vast tracks of red sand, see ancient inscriptions, extraordinarily coloured sand dunes and majestic mountains. Return to your camp to watch the sun set before enjoying a traditional Zarb Jordanian dinner under the stars.

Day 15: Wadi Rum โ€“ Petra

The sits opposite to the Seven Pillars of Wisdom, a mountain named after Lawrence of Arabiaโ€™s novel. After Lunch, head to Petra. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 16: Petra

This morning weโ€™ll reach the Petra, originally known to the Nabataeans as Raqmu, is a historical and archaeological city in southern Jordan. The city is famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system. Another name for Petra is the Rose City due to the colour of the stone out of which it is carved. Meet our local English-speaking guide for a 3-4-hour tour of the rose-red city of Petra. Walk the 1.2km-long Siq (chasm) passing shrines, tombs and carvings before exiting to the breath-taking sight of the Treasury. Walk the Street of Facades, passing the Roman Theatre to reach the Royal Tombs. See the Byzantine Church, Temple of the Winged Lions and Great Temple. At the museum your tour ends. Spend the rest of the day exploring more of the city or climb to the Monastery at your leisure.

Day 17: Petra โ€“ Amman

After breakfast, we walk to the High Place of Sacrifice and see the old-world Crusader castle at Shobak. Seek out Dana, a village on the fringe of the Dana Biosphere Reserve, to browse wares from local artisans and then continue by car to Madaba. Return to Amman in the later afternoon. After Breakfast, meet and assist by our Muslim guide. A transfer takes you to Allenby Bridge where the group crosses into Israel. The tour guide meets you once customs and immigration have been cleared. After, There is a quick orientation tour of Jericho before the group drives to Jerusalem. Check in at the hotel and then be taken to Bethlehem for a visit to the Church of the Nativity and the Walled Off Hotel. Return to Jerusalem in the evening.

See where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered at Qumran and return to Jericho to tick off the Mount of Temptations and the Zacchaeusโ€™ sycamore tree. Return to Jerusalem tonight.
