Morning meal in the hotel before leaving. Travel to Volubilis is about 3 hours from Chefchaouen. We will go to the ruins of the city of Volubilis(UNESCO world heritage) which was established in the 40s BC. – It is one of the best preserved monuments of the Roman era of North Africa. The ruins are sprawling and laid out in beautiful green fields. It is also known for its remarkable administrative buildings, palaces, and baths with pictures mosaics. Next we will proceed to one of the imperial cities – Meknes. During the short city tour and lunch break we will have, before leaving for the night stay in Fes.

Today, the start into the desert. After breakfast we check out and head to Merzouga, It is one of the longest journeys, around a 7hrs drive, but the different landscapes we will pass by will make the journey fun. En route, we will make a stop at Ifrane that has an European like nature and climate, parks lakes and chalets, a ski resort, and an overgrowth of snow in the winter making the town nick named as the Moroccan Switzerland. Near Ifrane, we will also see the giant Atlas cedars and feed the monkeys on our way to Azrou. The monkeys are friendly, they enjoy being fed.Lunch stop in Midelt. Additionally, our route will pass through the Gorge and Ziz River valley, and the scenery will transform into the desert near Er-Rashidia.

Following breakfast, we’ll head back to the village of Merzouga and head on to Dades. During our drive, we will have a stop at Rissani where is “The fossil factory” and you can have a look at the numerous fossils of the region. In about 3 hours, we will take a short break for a panoramic photograph somewhere near the beautiful town of Tinghir, which is a large palm oasis. Finally, we move on to the renowned Todra Gorge; there we will trek through the gorge and have lunch in a local restaurant. We will move on through the fantastic village of Dades.

Once you have your breakfast we will move a short distance to Dades gorges and then proceed to Ouarzazat. We will visit Mgouna, the place where the roses festival is held yearly. Our trip to Skura oasis will be continued. It is a sylvan palm oasis with many rivers running through. Olive trees, figs, and pomegranate orchards are seen everywhere along the streams of the Jordan River. We can also have a tour around the valley and visit Kasbah Amridil that is a fortified kasbah in the Skoura oasis. This is one of the most splendid kasbahs in Morocco. Transit to Ouarzazate is only 30 minutes away from Skura. This city is sometimes referred to as the “Moroccan Las Vegas” as it has been one of the locations where several historical movies were filmed. Kasbah Taurirt is one of the city’s historical places, kasbah is to be visited, then we are to visit Cinema Museum, Atlas film studio.
