  • Day 1 Day 1: Arrival - Transfer To Arusha

      Day 1: Arrival - Transfer To Arusha

      You begin your magical holiday as you board your flight to Tanzania, the Heart of an African Safari.  On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will clear with the customs as Gilmag Safarisโ€™ representative will be waiting to meet and brief you.  You will then be transferred to The Planet Lodge Hotel for dinner and overnight.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Arusha - Tarangire

      Day 2: Arusha - Tarangire

      After an early breakfast, your private safari guide will meet and drive you to Tarangire National Park (approximately 120 KM from Arusha).  Tarangire is renowned for its elephant families, iconic Baobab trees, the Tarangire River, seasonal swamps and Savannah.  The park is also home to buffalos, giraffes, bushbucks and wildebeests amongst others.  These animals gather along the Tarangire River and are always closely followed by predators such as lions and leopard.  After a fantastic morning game viewing, you will enjoy your picnic lunch by the bank of Tarangire River.  After a full day game drive you will exit the park and drive to Sangaiwe Tented Lodge for dinner and overnight.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Tarangire - Mto Wa Umbu - Manyara

      Day 3: Tarangire - Mto Wa Umbu - Manyara

      After breakfast you will drive to Mto wa Mbu town for a guided village walk.  The walk will give you an opportunity to interact with the local people, visit local homes, a taste of traditional beer, banana and rice farms, etc.  You will then continue to Lake Manyara for game viewing.  Here you will be able to see elephants, giraffes, hippos, impalas, dik dik, waterbucks, flamingos and monkeys.  You may also encounter the rare tree climbing lions and leopards.  In the evening, you will depart the park and drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight at Eileens Tree lodge

  • Day 4 Day 4: Manyara - Serengeti (Hunting The Predators)

      Day 4: Manyara - Serengeti (Hunting The Predators)

      After breakfast, you will depart the lodge with lunch boxes and drive to Serengeti with game en route, via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.   You will drive up the crater highlands, stopping at the rim for a spectacular view of the Ngorongoro crater. Continuing as far as the eyes can see is the vast Serengeti.  โ€œSerengetiโ€ means endless plain.  And this is 6900 sq. mile (1800 sq. km).  It is also home to 2,000,000 wildebeests and 800,000 zebras.  In central Serengeti, you will have high chances of seeing the elephants, giraffes, buffalos, hippos, warthogs, gazelles, impalas, lions, leopards, cheetahs and many more.  You will arrive at Mbugani Camps for a well deserved shower, dinner and overnight.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Serengeti (Great Migration - Mara River Crossing)

      Day 5: Serengeti (Great Migration - Mara River Crossing)

      You will have an early morning game drive and then return to the camp for breakfast.  Afterwards, you will depart the camp with picnic lunch and drive to Northern Serengeti for game viewing, with very high chances of seeing wildebeests crossing the Mara River while the crocodiles attack them.  In the evening, you will drive to Mbugani Camps located in Northern Serengeti for dinner and overnight

  • Day 6 Day 6: Serengeti (Great Migration - Mara River Crossing)

      Day 6: Serengeti (Great Migration - Mara River Crossing)

      Morning and afternoon game drive along the Mara River, with early departure.  The great migration is supposed to be here between July and mid October, crossing the famous Mara River to Maasai Mara reserve in Kenya and back to Serengeti.  The North Serengeti has lots of big cats, elephants, giraffes, impalas, hippos and it is another excellent place to see the endangered black rhino.  All meals and overnight will be at Mbugani camps

  • Day 7 Day 7: Hunting The Predators

      After breakfast, you will drive to Lobo area for game viewing.  Lobo is in North-East of Serengeti National Park with unique landscape.  Here you will have excellent opportunity to see leopards, cheetahs, big prides of lions, the rare clip-springer antelopes, etc.  In the afternoon, you will drive to Central Serengeti to Dinner and overnight at Mbugani camps.

  • Day 8 Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater - The Endangered Black Rhino And Pink Flamingo

      Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater - The Endangered Black Rhino And Pink Flamingo

      After breakfast, you will depart the camp with picnic lunch and drive to Ngorongoro crater for game viewing.  You will spend the day at the floor on the crater (the 8th wonder of the world) exploring its rich flora and fauna.  This is the best place to encounter the endangered black rhino and flamingos in Lake Magadi.  Other animals include Thomsonโ€™s and Grantโ€™s gazelles, warthogs, hippos, zebras, waterbucks, hyenas, jackals and if lucky enough, lions will be sleeping by your vehicle for shade.  In the evening, you will ascend the crater, depart the park and drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight at Eileens Tree lodge.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Arusha - Zanzibar Beach

      Day 9: Arusha - Zanzibar Beach

      After breakfast you will drive back to Arusha with stopover at traditional Maasai village on the way.  After hot lunch in Arusha, you will visit the local Maasai market for souvenirs shopping (if interested).  Afterwards, you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport to catch your flight to Zanzibar, where upon arrival; you will be transferred to Z-Hotel for Dinner and overnight.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Zanzibar
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 10: Zanzibar

      With its beautiful sandy beaches, colourful coral reefs and clear turquoise waters, Zanzibar is an excellent relaxing place after wildlife safari.  These two days will be spent relaxing at beach, however, should you wish to be active, then there are plenty of excursions that you can join, such us visits to the historic Stone Town, Prison Island, Jozani Forest, cultural tours to the local villages and the Spice Plantation. There is also a wide variety of adventure activities that you can enjoy while here; including hiking, bird watching, sea kayaking and sailing and mountain biking.  The Island also has fabulous coral reefs, which are perfect for diving and snorkeling.  If you are lucky, you will see green turtles, dolphins and maybe whale sharks depending on the time of the year.  Accommodation will be on half board throughout your stay in Zanzibar.
