      Along the Salzach to Oberndorf (birthplace of the Christmas carol "Silent Night"), Arnsdorf (Silent Night Museum) to Michaelbeuern (abbey) and on to the Trumer-Seen-Land (Obertrumer See, Mattsee, Grabensee) and partly to the Wallersee. Shorter, direct variant also possible!

      Through the nature reserve of the Egelseen lakes to Schleedorf and on to the idyllic Irrsee lake. Overnight stay in Mondsee (castle, smokehouse).

      Boat trip/crossing to Weyregg on arrival in July and August, outside this time you cycle along Lake Attersee. Through the Aurachtal valley to Lake Traunsee with Gmunden (Orth Castle, ceramics factory), Altmรผnster (cycling museum) and Traunkirchen (fishing pulpit).

      Day 5: Traunsee โ€” Lake Hallstatt โ€” Bad Goisern

      By train from Lake Traunsee up to Obertraun on Lake Hallstatt (Dachstein ice caves). Along the lake to Hallstatt ("most beautiful lakeside town in the world", oldest salt mine). The stage finish is Bad Goisern or one of the neighboring villages.

      Via Bad Ischl (Kaiserpark, Kaiservilla, Sissiโ€™s tea house) along the Ischler Ache to Lake Wolfgang: St. Wolfgang (WeiรŸes RรถรŸl, parish church, cog railroad up the Schafberg), Strobl, Abersee (Zinkenbachklamm gorge) and St. Gilgen, the Mozart village on Lake Wolfgang are stage towns.

      Along the cycle path to St. Gilgen ("Mozartโ€™s village") and on to the deep blue Fuschlsee. From there into the Tiefbrunnau, past the Hintersee and through the Strubklamm into the Wiestal (reservoir). Through the Glasenbachklamm gorge into the Salzach valley. Shortly before Salzburg, Hellbrunn Palace (park, zoo, water games) is worth a visit. Destination is the festival and Mozart city Salzburg with its numerous sights (fortress, old town).
