      Today you arriva at the Yerevan airport and reach the hotel on own. 

      Yerevan is the capital of Armenia and itโ€™s known as "The pink city" because of the color of the stone used for most of the buildings.  The city is a perfect example of the architecture from the Soviet Times. After the wars, the city of Yerevan was supposed to become โ€™a perfect cityโ€™, designed by the architect Alexander Tamanyan. Yerevan is completely different than the neighboring capital of Georgia that we will see in the next few days.

      Welcome dinner and overnight.

      Day 2: Wine And History Day Tour From Yerevan

      Breakfast at the hotel.  Then we have a transfer to the Armavir region โ€“ one of the wine regions of Armenia. We visit "Karas wineryโ€™โ€™. Located between Aragats and Ararat Mountains this winery has 400 hectars of vineyards. The local and French grape types are used for wine production. After tour around the winery and vineyards we will enjoy a special wine tasting of 5 types of wines: Classic Red, Classic White, Sparkling Extra Brut, Areni- Khndoghni, Karas Reserve.

      The we continue the trip to Aragatsotn region, visiting the village of Voskevaz. We also have a tour of the โ€œVoskevazโ€ winery, established in 1932. With a long tradition of wine production, it is one of the few wineries of Armenia, representing wines fermented and aged in traditional clay amphoras - karases. The winery makes 11

      different types of wines, including fruit wines made of pomegranate and strawberry. We will taste 2 wines from the classic line and 1 from the vintage line.


      Later we move to the Sasunik village and visit the largest winery in Armenia.  The tour in the factory covers both traditional and innovative winemaking techniques, including visits to wine cellars, aging cellars, brandy innovative distillery, champagne production block, bottling line and degustation hall. The whole complex is built with orange tuff stones in classic Armenian architectural style and covers territory of 50.000 square meters.

      The companyโ€™s manufactured grape wine assortment includes dry and semisweet types of red, rose and white, and special editions of white and red wines and also pomegranate dry and semisweet varietie with different brands. The company uses local Kangun variety for white and sparkling wines and also French grape varieties as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc as blends with Armenian grapes. We also have a tasting of several types of wines, before having lunch here at the winery.


      In the afternoon we visit the complex of Saghmosavank, located on the edge of the precipitous gorge of the Kasakh river. The Church of Zion in Saghmosavank (1215 y.), the main temple, was erected by Prince Vache Vachutyan. The book depository of Saghmosavank located on the territory of the Monastery, was built in 1255 A.D. under Prince Kurd Vachutyan. Many richly ornamented stone crosses have been preserved on the territory of the monasteries.


      We then go back to Yerevan, dinner on own and overnight

      Day 3: Aarat Valley And Wine Tasting Experiences

      After breakfast at the hotel we go towards the Ararat valley and visit Tushpa wine cellar. Founded in 1992
      this family owned estate produces wines and brandies based on the tradition of the family ancestors originated from Van. We have a tour around the cellar and tasting of Tushpa Red and White Wines and 5 years old Arnak Armenian brandy.

      We continue to Khor Virap church, the holy place of imprisonment of St. Gregory the Illuminator accused by Armenian king of preaching Christianity. It was built on the dungeon, where St. Gregory was kept. Here you can also see the closest and most spectacular view of the gorgeous biblical mountain Ararat shining with its

      two white peaks.

      We keep on visiting the Vayots Dzor region, the cradle of wine. Recent archaeological excavations found 6000 years winery with 5 wine cellars. Within the underground wine cellar, archaeologists discovered a wine press for stomping grapes, fermentation and storage containers, drinking cups, grape vines, skins, and seeds. Though evidence of wine has dated back 7,000 years, this is the earliest winery and wine cellar found to date. The findings indicated large scale wine production, quite possibly the earliest retail winery. Archaeologists suggest that our early ancestors used wine in ceremonies to honour the dead. It is also thought as a gift, placed and consumed inside the tombs. Wine-pressing tools have been found installed into burials and tombs, and drinking cups around the graves. According to Armenian and US scientists these findings are the oldest and the most reliable evidence of wine production on the Planet dating back 6100 years


      We have a wine tasting experience  at Arpa Parnas, discovering the Artsakh region wine production, especiallythe Domain Avetissyan Kataro. The 10 hectares of vineyards of the company is located in picturesque hillside in a lush region of Hadrut in Karabakh in the village of Togh, an elevation of 600-700 metres. Kataro wines are made by indigenous grape variety Khndoghni (Sireni), that grows only in this

      region. The culture of local wine-making is as old as the region itself. Many ancient karases (wine jugs) were discovered in the princeโ€™s (melikโ€™s) palace. Kataro is a family owned production with a history of more than 100 years. 

      Then we go to the Aghavnadzor village to visit Trinity Canyon Vineyardsโ€™. Situated on 1300 m above sea level the vineyards are divided in 3 plots, planted in 2003, 2009 and 2013. The company use mixt of Armenian and

      international grape varieties such as Voskehat, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay. This is unique company that produces organic wine in Armenia using traditional wine making techniques of thousands years and the fermentation is making in terracotta vessels  without any sulfur addition. Tasting of 3 different types of wine.

      Then our route goes through incredibly beautiful scenery toward to Noravank monastery (13-14 cc.) and then back to the hotel in Yerevan. Dinner on own and overnight.

      After breakfast we go to visit  the Sevan Lake, one of the greatest high mountainous freshwater lakes

      of Eurasia. We continue to mountanieus resort Dilijan, or so called โ€œArmenian Switzerlandโ€. During the drive you can enjoy the unbelievable change of the surrounding environment and landshaft from the mountainous lake to the green and rich forest mountains. Visit to Haghartsin Monastery complex which is located in the secluded place of the forest. The place is so unique and the scenery with the nature surrounding is so breathtaking that you will be impressed!. Appearing unexpectedly, out of the dense forests, in front of the visitors, the Monastery creates a magical impression of a lost world.

      Then we go to Ljevan, the city in the Tavush region, surrounded with high mountains covered with thick forests, turning into alpine meadows in certain areas. We visit to Ljevan wine and Brandy factory, one of the

      ancient wine factories in Armenia. Founded in 1951 the company produces 40 different types of wine, as well as brandy and vodka. 

      After the wine tasting we continue to Armenian-Georgian border. After passing border formalities we reach Tbilisi. We have a small city tour including the old town, then we take cable car to reach Narikala fortress, after walking in Abanotubani, the ancient district of Tbilisi, known for its sulfuric baths, Sharden street The Holy Trinity Cathedral, known as Sameba, which is themain Georgian Orthodox Cathedral listed among the largest

      Orthodox churches in the world; Shota Rustaveli Avenue, Agmashenebeli avenue.

      Check in and welcome dinner in Tblisi.

      Day 5: Back To History Of Wine!

       The roots of Georgian viticulture have been traced back by archeology to at least 6000-8000 BC. Up to 500 indigenous grape varieties are still cultivated here and more then 25 are used in wine industry. Georgian winemaking โ€“ The Qvevri (clay vessel used for fermentation of wine) Method is listed as part of UNESCO Intangible Heritage.

      We go to Kartli region, 30 km away from Tbilisi  and visit Chateau Mukhrani. The history of winery starts in 1878 with the first vintage. The founder, Ivane Mukhranbatoni, a descendent of the Bagrationi Royal Family, after return from France decided to introduce the concept of a Chateau in Georgia using all knowlidges about the fine art of winemaking. He implemented modern winemaking methods and the mixt od traditions and new new techniques revolutionized the quality of Georgian wine. We taste 3 different wines and then go to the eastern part of Georgia Kakheti region, the wine region of Georgia. Visit Signagi, ancient city, also known as the "City of Loveโ€™โ€™, with stone-paved streets and the balconies in old - Georgian style. It is one of the most beautiful towns of Kakheti region. At the elevation of about 790 m above sea level, the town overlooks the Alazani valley and faces the Greater Caucasus Mountains.

      We continue to the Pheasantโ€™s Tears winery. Founded in 2007 the winery produce wines with traditional methods - in qvevri. Some of them date the mid of 19th C. tasting some type of wines.

      After we visit Khareba Winery, located in the village Kvareli, near the bank of Alazani Valley and carved in the rock of the Caucasus mountain range.This is a large and unique winery of the region offering tour inside of 7.7 km long tunnel Gvirabi. Tasting of different type of wines. Continue to ,,Kindzmarauli Maraniโ€™โ€™, The winery has 500 hectares of vineyards, producing wine in qvevri and with modern technologies. Tour around the winery and tasting of different type of wines,

      Then we go Kvareli for check in and dinner on own. Overnight

      Day 6: Last But Not Least Wine Day Tour

      This morning we reach Telavi and visit Dakishvili vineyardsโ€™, a small family winery in the village Shalauri near the town Telavi, in the Kondoli Valley at 400 meters above sea level,. Already 3 generations of Dakishvili

      work here. A unique micro-climate of the valley allowes to grow premium wine grapes. The family make Qvevri wines. Tour around the winery and wine tasting.

      We continue to Tsinandali and visit Schuchmann Winesโ€™, The owner Burkhard Schuchmann  was intersted in Georgian ancient method of winemaking in qvevries and decided to establish his own winery in 2008. The winery has 150 hectares of vineyards, producing wine using the unique georgian grapes such as Kisi, Kakhetian Mtsvani.

      The last wine stop will be the Tsinandli Estateโ€™ which was amoung the domains of Chavchavadze family. They was the first to produce European style wine. It was in the Tsinandali winery that the wine was first bottled in Georgia. Al. Chavchavadzeโ€™s collection of vintage wines consists of over 15 000 bottles, with the oldest dated with 1814. Visit Prince Alexander Chavchavadze summer palace- museum. Wine tasting.

      We go back to Tblisis, check in and farewell dinner included. Overnight
