Itinerary of your trip Armenia Cultural Tour

  • Day 1 Arrival - Yerevan Old & New
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Arrival - Yerevan Old & New

Welcome to one of the most ancient and lively young cities of the world. To fully admire the city, we will start the tour from Victory Park providing a birdโ€™s eye view over Yerevan crowned by Biblical Mount Ararat. We will go forward to walk in Cascade Complex, a massive staircase connecting upper and lower parts of the city, which houses a number of statues by famous sculptors. Lots of sidewalk cafes and restaurants, beautiful artworks make this place a favourite spot for locals. Later, we will explore one of the worldโ€™s largest manuscript depositories in the world, Matenadaran. We will continue the city walk to the State Opera House, Northern Avenue, and surroundings to explore the mixture of architecture. In this way, our road will take us to the centre of the capital, the Republic Square- the heartbeat of Yerevan. Yes! Republic Square does possess important data in it about Armenia and Yerevan but what about exploring the oldest part of the city โ€“ Kond Neighborhood cut from the noisy centre. A short walk in Kond hill neighborhood with its narrow streets and small houses that are taking one to a life frozen as it was in pre-Soviet times, will add to the topic and present the capital from a different perspective. Overnight stay โ€“ Hotel in Yerevan

  • Day 2 Armenian Religious Center - Ejmiatsin
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Armenian Religious Center - Ejmiatsin

Starting from the second day, we will discover the outskirts of the capital. While making a cultural tour to Armenia, one cannot avoid visiting the first Christian church in the world, the Ejmiatsin Cathedral. We will have an exclusive chance to visit the โ€œEjmiatsin Museumโ€ and explore the ancient Christian world with its holy relics, like the Holy Spear and a piece of Noahโ€™s Ark. Lunch will be served in the ethnographic centre, where a surprising Armenian national dish awaits for us. The tour will continue to one of the most important sites of Armenia, the Memorial of Sardarapat. The memorial and its consequent museum are the sign of the Armenian rebellion and an attribution to those thanks to whom Armenia exists. Besides, this museum building is designed right the way the Armenian fortification system was in the Middle Ages. While on the way back to Yerevan, the ruins of Zvartnots Cathedral lay in the middle of the Yerevan-Ejmiatsin highway. The 7th century cathedral will not only amaze with its traumatic story and the Mount Ararat backdrop, but also with the unique architecture that was uncommon in the 7th century and was considered extremely advanced for that period. In the evening back to Yerevan to enjoy another peaceful evening or plan a cultural event, visit opera or ballet or some nice Jazz club, where the musicians are definitely world class while prices are very affordable. Overnight stay โ€“ Hotel in Yerevan

  • Day 3 Southwestern Armenian Treasures
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Southwestern Armenian Treasures

Arguably, Khor Virap Monastery is one of the most astonishing places to visit in Armenia, as it is where the adoption of Christianity as a state religion set its roots. After learning the deep and mythical part of Armenian history and admiring Mount Ararat we cannot help to forward our tour to taste and admire the ancient Armenian grape varietals and their consequent wines in one of the most important and unique wine factories of Armenia, Old Areni Factory. Thanks to their professional staff, we will get to participate in wine production, but this is just a tasting while another wine feast along with fruit vodka waits as with lunch. In addition to the thousands of years old wine production history, Armenia will also amaze us with its 6100 years old secret โ€“ the oldest winery in the entire world- in Areni Cave. Who said that this is the end? Being the land of thousands of monasteries and churches, on the third day we will also visit the Noravank Monastery. The promised lunch in a Gastro yard awaits us, where you can participate in fruit dessert making. Later weโ€™ll have a photo stop at one of the pearls of Armenia, the Spandaryan Reservoir with its magnificent location and nature. After the breathtaking views, the tour will find its finish in the small town Goris, where a dinner awaits us at the hotel. Overnight stay โ€“ Hotel in Goris

  • Day 4 Cave Town & Worldโ€™S Longest Cable Car
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Cave Town & Worldโ€™S Longest Cable Car

The fourth day will start with a walk through a historic village in Armenia, Khndzoresk, where we will encounter natural and manmade caves, where heroic people lived and defended several wars till the mid-20th century and a swinging bridge over the canyon connecting old and new parts of Khndzoresk. This dayโ€™s lunch will be served in the restaurant at the edge of a magnificent gorge overlooking Tatev Monastery. After the walk, the turn of one of the most important monasteries with its consequent cable car has finally come. The monastery is called Tatev, which in Armenian means to โ€œgive wingsโ€. Visiting Armenia and not seeing Tatev is like committing a big mistake. For the sake of finding our โ€œwingsโ€ we will also ride the cable car over deep Vorotan river canyon. On the way to the Hermon village for the rest and overnight, we will also visit Shaqi waterfall. Weather permitting we will have an amazing night sky full of stars and the Milky Way visible. Overnight stay โ€“ Hotel in Hermon Village

  • Day 5 Silk Road & Armenian Switzerland
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Silk Road & Armenian Switzerland

After a rural healthy breakfast and fresh coffee, be ready for this dayโ€™s adventure which brings us back to the middle ages to the part of The Great Silk Road. Here we will have a stop at Selim Caravanserai of the 13th century, which hosted lots of traders from China, India and Europe. The top of the mountain pass provides a miracle view over the cascading mountains gradually disappearing in the horizon. We cannot stop just in one place, so our ride will take us to a historical village which carries the largest khachkars collection in the entire world. Here we will visit a family cheese farm to taste local and unique cheeses aged in wine and brandy. We will have a drive along Lake Sevan, one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world at an altitude of around 2000 m above sea. Lunch is served in the restaurant with a lake view. The ride brings us to the โ€œlittle Switzerlandโ€ of Armenia, Dilijan, full of national parks to refresh and enjoy the mountainous fresh air. However, the fresh air and water are not the limits; the Old Dilijan Complex with wooden balconies and artisansโ€™ shops awaits us for a short walk. Overnight stay โ€“ Hotel in Dilijan

  • Day 6 Unesco World Heritage Sites
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Unesco World Heritage Sites

As part of our program Lori is included in the sixth day. The region of Lori will not leave us less amazed and surprised, since its location allows people to admire the centuries old churches of UNESCO world heritage sites, with their breathtaking surroundings. Here we will have an amazing opportunity to view two ancient monasteries in Aghtala and Haghpat โ€“ the real signs of Armenians living here from very old times. While the village of Dsegh is not a thing to miss for sure, it makes its visitors out of mind for its awesome nature, people and interesting cultural spots. We together will have lunch in the restaurant and the chef will demonstrate some traditional Armenian dish cooking. Overnight stay โ€“ Hotel in Dsegh Village

  • Day 7 A City Of Arts And Crafts
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

A City Of Arts And Crafts

During those all days, we have tried our best to show our guests the Armenian culture and history, but the seventh day promises to be full of many more surprises than any other day (though each day is unique in its own way). We will drive into the cultural centre of Armenia, Gyumri. With its lofty black-and-apricot architecture, pottery studios and cute cafes, Armeniaโ€™s second-largest city, Gyumri, is the countryโ€™s creative capital and historical hub. In Gyumri we will have the chance not only to participate in several master classes, but also to dive into one of the most tragic parts of Armenian history and its dramatic consequences on the country. The tour will continue to another ancient monastery Marmashen with its incredible location over Akhurian River and Armenian-Turkish borders. Overnight stay โ€“ Hotel in Gyumri

  • Day 8 Medieval Fortress & Armenian Alphabet Monument
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Medieval Fortress & Armenian Alphabet Monument

If all the ways take us to Rome, then in Armenia they take us to the capital Yerevan. Todayโ€™s lunch will be on the road to Yerevan. We will have a stop at Gntuniq supermarket and bakery, where you will have a chance to see how the bread is baked on the walls of a hot oven and will smell a flavour of new baked hot bread. On the way back to Yerevan, the Monastery Saghmosavank will open its doors in front of us- one of the marvels of Armenia, with its marvellous canyon. Then we will go to find out the largest alphabet in the world, where the letters are gravestones and to find our first letters there. A visit to the fortress of Amberd would not bother us a lot. It would be even a shame for us not to pay attention to how the ancestors of todayโ€™s Armenian people lived and defended themselves. Due to those fortresses Armenians carried their brave history throughout centuries. Overnight stay โ€“ Hotel in Yerevan

  • Day 9 Faith Before Christianity
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Faith Before Christianity

Who said that Armenians were Christian all the time? What about the faith before Christianity? Yes, the previous day of the flight will be dedicated to explore two different faiths of Armenia: temple of Garni โ€“ the pagan symbol of the country and the Geghard Monastery โ€“ built from rocks with obscure and unbelievable architectural techniques. Both of them are surely close to each other but totally different universes. The region will amaze us with its breathtaking Azat Reservoir, Arch of Charents and so on, but we decided to get back to Yerevan and enjoy Ararat Brandy Company with its amazing museum and wine-factory. Later the day, of course, we will celebrate the end of the tour with a farewell dinner. Overnight stay โ€“ Hotel in Yerevan
