In the afternoon you will see Christ Church, the Old Fortress, the gardens of the Ink Palace and the Klein-Windhoek district during your city tour. Day 3: Windhoek - Mariental

After breakfast you will leave the capital and head south. You will drive via Rehoboth to your lodge in the Kalahari, where you will spend the night today. In the afternoon you will enjoy a breathtaking sundowner drive to the red dunes.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Mariental - Sossusvlei
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 4: Mariental - Sossusvlei

Today, after breakfast, you will travel via Helmeringhausen to Hammerstein Lodge. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Sossusvlei
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 5: Sossusvlei

At sunrise you drive into the Namib Naukluft Park to the dunes of Sossusvlei. You will cover the last 5 km into the dunes in an open four-wheel drive vehicle. The Sossusvlei is a large, drainless clay soil depression, which is enclosed by partly over 300 meters high dunes. From the dunes you have an almost unreal view over the dune sea of the Namib Desert. Afterwards you will visit the impressive Sesriem Canyon. Here the Tsauchab River has carved a bed up to 30 meters deep through layers of boulders that were deposited here 15 to 18 million years ago during a wetter phase of the Namib. After a short hike in the Sesriem Canyon, you will drive back to your lodge.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Sossusvlei - Swakopmund
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 6: Sossusvlei - Swakopmund

After breakfast you will drive across the wasteland of the Namib Desert to Swakopmund. Upon arrival in Swakopmund, a short sightseeing tour awaits you. This small, picturesque coastal town has many beautiful buildings from the German colonial period. You will see the Hohenzollernhaus, the Wรถrmannturm, the landing stage, the pier with lighthouse and the naval monument as well as other Art Nouveau buildings. Many inhabitants speak German and numerous promenades, palm avenues and parks give the small coastal town a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy a stroll along the miles of secluded Atlantic beach or stroll through the woodcarversโ€™ market near the lighthouse. After check-in at the hotel, you will have time at leisure.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Swakopmund
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 7: Swakopmund

Today is at your free disposal. There is a rich offer of excursions, which you can book on site for an extra charge. Our recommendation: Take a boat trip in the Walvis Bay lagoon with oysters, champagne and snacks. Or go quad biking through the dunes, have a race at go-carting or much more. Your tour guide will give you helpful tips!

  • Day 8 Day 8: Swakopmund - Damaraland
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 8: Swakopmund - Damaraland

Today you will drive via Hentiesbay and Uis to the mysterious Damaraland. Damaraland and Kaokoveld in the arid northwest of Namibia form parts of the mosaic of ethnically diverse regions that make Namibia so varied and interesting. Until recently, Damaraland was a rather isolated region where the lives of the people living here have changed little over the centuries. It is an area of stark contrasts: high mountains, grasslands and steppe. You will visit the rock engravings at Twyfelfontein. Here you will find one of the largest collections of rock carvings in Africa. They were carefully carved into the slabs of rock that litter the slopes of the flat mountain. The highlight is the "Dancing Kudu" surrounded by numerous geometric patterns. Afterwards you will visit the "Living Museum of the Damara". Located near Twyfelfontein, it is the first traditional Damara project in Namibia and the only one of its kind. Nowhere else you have the opportunity to learn about the traditional culture of the Damara in this form. Afterwards you will drive to your lodge where you will spend the night tonight.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Central Namibia - Etosha South
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 9: Central Namibia - Etosha South

After breakfast, drive towards Etosha National Park where you will visit a Himba village. The Himba are one of the indigenous tribes of Namibia - a pastoralist people who still live a semi-nomadic life. You will see the pontoks (dwellings) plastered with cattle dung and mud according to centuries-old tradition, as well as the low cattle huts. The Himba have a special reverence for their herds of cattle, especially for the โ€™ancestral bullโ€™. Afterwards you will drive to your lodge in the southern Etosha region.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Etosha South - Etosha East
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 10: Etosha South - Etosha East

The first game drive in the Etosha National Park starts very early. Todayโ€™s program includes a full-day game drive in a touring vehicle. Etosha National Park in northern Namibia is one of the most beautiful nature reserves in Africa - and one of the largest: at 22,270 km2, it is about half the size of Switzerland!

The national park is home to large herds of springbok, impala, zebra and wildebeest, as well as elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, cheetahs and black rhinos, and various species of birds and reptiles. Look forward to seeing this spectacular wildlife in the unique landscape of the Etosha Pan, which is white due to its limestone soil!

  • Day 11 Day 11: Etosha East - Windhoek
