    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 1: Arrival Whitehorse

  • Day 2 Day 2: Whitehorse - Skagway
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 2: Whitehorse - Skagway

After breakfast, you will first get an overview of the capital of the Yukon. This may include a visit to the restored paddle steamer MS Klondike, located directly on the Yukon. Then the journey begins with the first driving stage over the Klondike Highway in southern direction to Skagway, Alaska. Even on this section, scenic sights invite you to make short stops along the way. For example, at the Carcross Desert - the smallest desert in the world - and of course you will also be able to marvel at Emerald Lake. Also called Rainbow Lake by the locals because of its sensational water coloring. You will visit Carcross. Afterwards you will drive past Windy Arm and through the coastal mountains to Skagway, Alaska. Here you will hike a part of the Chilkoot Trail. In the evening, you can visit one of the historic bars, for example the "Red Onion Saloon" - a brothel in the gold rush days - and even today you can be transported back to the atmosphere of the old gold rush days with live music and a drink.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Skagway - Haines Junction
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 3: Skagway - Haines Junction

Skagway, once the gateway to the greatest gold rush of all time! The small port town on the Pacific Ocean with its nearly 800 inhabitants is now a protected monument. More than 100 years ago, most of the gold seekers landed here with their ships from the south and thought they had already reached the destination of their dreams. But the far more arduous part of the journey to the gold fields at the Klondike should now really begin. Before they could think about continuing their journey on the Yukon River further north, they first had to conquer the famous, notorious Chilkoot Trail. In the surroundings of Skagway another shorter hike is planned today. Later in the afternoon we will take the ferry
ferry through the bizarre world of Lynn Fjord. With a little bit of luck you will get the cute sea otters, but maybe also puffins and sea lions or even whales in front of your camera. The harbor town of Haines - set against the mighty backdrop of the snow-capped Chilkat Mountain Range - is the starting point for the rest of todayโ€™s drive up north to Haines Junction. Shortly after leaving the Pacific coast, you will pass the Bald Eagle valley - here you will find a particularly high concentration of bald eagles at certain times of the year. Crossing the coastal mountains again, you then reach a completely different climate zone. The Haines Road offers opportunities for breathtaking views of spectacular pass and mountain scenery. Passing Dezedash Lake and then Kathleen Lake, you will reach Haines Junction in the evening.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Haines Junction / Kluane National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 4: Haines Junction / Kluane National Park

Haines Junction is located directly at the foot of the Kluane National Park. This park is not only the largest national park in Canada, but it is also home to the largest contiguous glacier area on earth, in addition to a diverse wildlife. Not to mention the South and North Poles! To this day, this massive national park remains largely undeveloped and virtually untouched. Today is completely planned for a hike in this fantastic environment. There are numerous trails available for this purpose. One of the most spectacular is at Sheep Mountain overlooking the huge Kluane Lake. Here there are also excellent chances to observe some of the so shy, snow-white Dall sheep.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Haines Junction - Whitehorse
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 5: Haines Junction - Whitehorse

This morning another hike into Kluane National Park is on the agenda. South of Haines Junction is the Auriol Trail, a shorter four-hour loop through beautiful scenery. Haines Junction also offers some optional alternatives. For example, how about a spectacular scenic helicopter flight over the parkโ€™s impressive glacier world? In the early evening you will leave Kluane Country and drive via Alaska Highway in about two hours to Whitehorse.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Whitehorse - Dawson City
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 6: Whitehorse - Dawson City

After a detour to the longest wooden salmon staircase in the world, a visit to the Beringia Center is planned. An interesting museum with exhibitions on the ice age history of the region including prehistoric animal exhibits. Todayโ€™s stage leads via the northern Klondike Highway up to Dawson City. You will repeatedly see the mighty Yukon River on the way. With nearly 3200 kilometers one of the longest waterways in North America. Of course, you will also visit the infamous "Five Finger Rapids" - a massive rapid that has been the undoing of many paddle steamers in the past while navigating the Yukon River. Old post stations, rest houses and small towns on the way remind you again and again of the time of the great gold rush.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Dempster Highway
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 7: Dempster Highway

Today we have to get up in time. The next dayโ€™s hike is on the agenda. The drive takes us a bit up the famous Dempster Highway. This gravel road is the only road connection up to Inuvik, located at the Arctic Ocean. In total it is over 730 kilometers long! At the foot of the Tombstone Mountains the spectacular day hike starts in this so unique environment. It is an unforgettable experience in the tundra and mountain landscape. Every season has its own special charm in this area. The coloration of the landscape in the early fall is quite overwhelming. The Tombstone Mountains have a distinctive wedge shape and therefore have always served as a distinctive landmark for early explorers, trappers and also RCMP patrols. The black basalt mountains here appear to the observer almost like a bizarre moonscape.

  • Day 8 Day 8: Dawson City
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 8: Dawson City

Dawson City is located directly at the mouth of the Klondike River into the Yukon. Here in this historic town, gold is still being mined today - as it was at the turn of the century. A highlight is the drive to Bonanza and Eldorado Creek, where you can also visit an active gold mine (optional). Afterwards you get an overview during an excursion to the Midnight Dome, the local mountain of Dawson City, later you roam through the small town with its partly still original, partly lovingly restored pretty buildings. In the evening, a visit to Diamond Tooth Gerties with casino and cancan dance girls is on the agenda.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Dawson City - Glennallen
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 9: Dawson City - Glennallen

Itโ€™s time to say goodbye to the Klondike goldfields. With the ferry across the Yukon River you continue your journey on the โ€™Top of the World Highwayโ€™. This is one of the most beautiful and spectacular high altitude roads in North America. You will drive through alpine high plateaus and experience a unique hilly landscape with boreal coniferous forest and tundra. You will cross the highest border crossing between Canada and the USA at Little Gold Creek. On this route you will pass such strange sounding towns as Chicken, Action Jackson or Jack Wade Camp.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Glennallen - Denali National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 10: Glennallen - Denali National Park

Continuing west, todayโ€™s drive takes you along the Denali Highway past photo- and movie-worthy wilderness panoramas to the border of Denali National Park. Enjoy the drive. Many Alaskan travelers head for Denali Park, but few approach it via this wilderness route! In the evening, there is an option to participate in an approximately one-hour glacier flight.

  • Day 11 Day 11: Denali National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 11: Denali National Park

A special park-owned shuttle bus takes you deep into one of the most scenic landscapes in North America. If the weather is good, you will catch a glimpse of majestic Mount McKinley, the highest peak in the USA at 6193 meters. The diverse wildlife is also very impressive. With a little luck you will see wolves, Dall sheep, moose, caribou and grizzly bears. In the evening you will be taken back to the park exit by shuttle bus.

  • Day 12 Day 12: Denali National Park - Seward
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 12: Denali National Park - Seward

Today it is time to say goodbye to Denali. First you will leave this region via the George Parks Highway and the route will take you past Anchorage in a southerly direction, along the Turnagain inlet. Look out for the white beluga whales that are often seen in this inlet! Continue on to the Kenai Peninsula. The landscape here is characterized by lush vegetation.

  • Day 13 Day 13: Seward
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 13: Seward

In addition to the possibility of another hike in the beautiful area around Seward, there are some attractive optional options to choose from today. Most notable is the opportunity to participate in the Kenai Fjords Tour, a six-hour excursion by boat into Kenai Fjords National Park. Undoubtedly one of the best ways to explore the maritime region with excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and, of course, including the breathtaking feeling of venturing close to the glaciers calving into the sea. Also worthwhile is a visit to the Alaska SeaLife Center, a seawater aquarium located right in Seward. The restaurants in Seward are known for excellent fish dishes. Donโ€™t miss this opportunity!

  • Day 14 Day 14: Seward - Anchorage
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 14: Seward - Anchorage

The morning includes a hike in the Seward area. Options include the Iditarod Trail, the spectacular Coastal Trail (tide dependent), historic Fort McGilvary, and the Salmon River at Tonsina Beach, to name a few. In the afternoon, you will arrive in Anchorage, where there are still plenty of options to end this eventful trip. At Lake Spenard, the largest seaplane airfield, up to 800 planes take off and land daily in the summer. Nearby is the Aviation Museum, where you can marvel at many legendary aircraft types. However, if you simply want to relax at the end of this eventful trip with the many fresh impressions or do a little shopping before heading home, you will have plenty of opportunity to do so today as well.

  • Day 15 Day 15: Departure Anchorage
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm
