      Experience the beautiful city of Vilnius, also known as the "Rome of the East", on an expert guided tour today. Gain interesting insights into the cityโ€™s history: the Gate of Dawn, Pilies Street with its impressive monuments from the 16th to 18th centuries, St. Anneโ€™s Church and the imposing Town Hall Square will inspire you, as will a visit to the university, one of the oldest in Eastern Europe. In the small amber museum you will learn interesting facts about the history of the stone. At lunchtime, you will enjoy a meal in a restaurant in the old town.       Your day starts with Trakai, the former capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. You will visit the famous red water castle in the middle of a lake with its historical museum. Afterwards you will taste the traditional Karaite specialty Kibinai (dumplings filled with meat). In the afternoon, explore the picturesque old town of Kaunas with its pretty merchant houses. 1 night there. (B/M)

      You will drive along the Memel River through impressive landscapes to Klaipda. On the way you will climb a rampart castle, which reminds us of the dramatic history of the Crusades. The former fishing village of Klaipda is now Lithuaniaโ€™s most important port city. Youโ€™ll stroll through the historic Old Town with its half-timbered houses and then cross over to the Curonian Spit. 2 nights in Nida. (F)

      The Curonian Spit is the largest nature reserve in Lithuania. Nida is one of the most beautiful places on the Baltic Sea due to its location on the Curonian Lagoon and the mixture of an original fishing village and a modern seaside resort. The village impresses with its colorful wooden cottages and Thomas Mannโ€™s summer house, which you will visit. Afterwards you hike up to the spectacular sand dune "Hohe Dรผne" (easy, approx. 1.8 km, walking time: approx. 1 hour, +/-50 meters altitude difference). In the afternoon you have time to discover the Curonian Spit individually. Rent bicycles, hike in the dunes or refresh yourself in the Baltic Sea. (F)

      In the morning, you will visit a unique historical pilgrimage site - the Hill of Crosses. It is the symbol of Lithuanian resistance and faith. More than 100,000 crosses, most of them carved in the traditional Lithuanian style, have been brought to the mountain to ask for mercy since ancient times. You cross the border into Latvia and visit the magnificent Rundale Castle, which is considered the largest and most beautiful castle in Latvia. You reach Riga in the evening. Spend 3 nights there.
