      You will fly to Vilnius. You will be met at the airport and escorted to the hotel. In the evening you will meet your tour guide and fellow travelers at an information session. 1 night in Vilnius.

      Day 2: Vilnius And Trakai Moated Castle

      Your day begins with a city tour of impressive Vilnius, "Rome of the East" and capital of Lithuania. The picturesque old town with its winding streets and numerous baroque churches was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Worth seeing are the "Gate of Dawn", the town hall square, Pilies Street with its buildings from the 16th to the 18th century and the university, one of the oldest in Eastern Europe. The small Amber Museum will give you an overview of the history of the yellow gemstone. Afterwards, you will walk through the artistsโ€™ quarter of Uลพupis. At noon you will dine together in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will visit the medieval Trakai Water Castle with its historical museum, picturesquely located in the middle of a lake. 1 night in Kaunas. (B/M)

      After breakfast, you will get to know the romantic old town of Kaunas with an expert guide. Through unique and impressive landscapes, past old manor houses and along the River Memel, you will travel to Memelland, which lies on the edge of former East Prussia. In Klaipda (formerly Memel) on the Curonian Lagoon, you will experience Lithuaniaโ€™s only port city on a guided city tour. The famous folk song "ร„nnchen von Tharau" comes to life again at the Simon Dach monument. 2 nights in Klaipda (F)

      Today you will spend the day on the unique Curonian Spit (UNESCO World Heritage Site), a narrow romantic strip of land between the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. Fragrant spruce and pine forests and a bright white dune landscape, the "Lithuanian Sahara", await you! The idyllic artistsโ€™ village Nida captivates with its colorful wooden houses and the summer house of Thomas Mann, which you will visit. Afterwards you hike up to the spectacular sand dune "Hohe Dรผne" and walk to the mysterious Hexenberg. You will return to Klaipda by ferry (B).

      In the morning, near Siauliai, you will visit the emblem of Lithuanian resistance and faith - the Hill of Crosses. Countless crosses stand at this impressive pilgrimage site. You will cross the border into Latvia and drive to the magnificent baroque Rundale Castle. Once the Prince of Courland had his summer residence here. In the evening you reach the vibrant city of Riga. Here you will spend the next 2 nights. (B/M)

      Situated on the banks of the Daugava River, you will get to know the city during an expert guided tour: the well-preserved Old Town (UNESCO World Heritage Site), romantic craftsmenโ€™s alleys, the Cathedral (exterior tour) and the famous St. Peterโ€™s Church with its 120-meter tower, as well as the numerous unique Art Nouveau buildings. Afterwards, visit the famous Central Market, the largest market in Eastern Europe. In five market halls you will find a wide selection of Latvian specialties. In the afternoon you have time to discover the city individually. Linger in a nice cafรฉ and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere of the old Hanseatic city. (F)

      Sandstone cliffs, deep glacial valleys and densely forested hills make the Gauja National Park an unforgettable experience. Breathtaking views over the valley of the picturesque Gauja River are offered from the tower of Turaida Castle. This was once built as the residence of the Bishop of Riga. Enjoy a walk around the old Hanseatic town of Csis, with its narrow streets and beautiful castle park. Evening arrival in Tartu, the "spiritual center" of Estonia. 1 night there. (F)

You have the opportunity to visit the baroque Palmse manor house (payable locally, approx. โ‚ฌ11 per person). Afterwards, take a stroll through the 400-year-old fishing village of Altja.
