Itinerary of your trip Italy Knitting Tour In Women Only Small Group: Venice, Veron

  • Day 1 Venice: Arrival & Welcome Dinner Venetian Style In Bacaro
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Venice: Arrival & Welcome Dinner Venetian Style In Bacaro

Arrival at Venice airport and transfer to your hotel 3* centrally located. Take your time to rest and unpack.

At 06.00 PM we will meet all together to start our Italian adventure. After a short introduction, letโ€™s immerse ourselves in one of the oldest Venetian traditions - The Bacari.

As true locals we will take a seat in one traditional โ€œbacaroโ€ to taste different cicchetti and discover typical corners of the city far from the most touristic areas. Having a chat while sipping a glass of good Prosecco and biting a creamy Baccalร  mantecato will be the perfect start to get to know each other and get the right Italian mood!

In the evening locals meet at the Bacari - typical bars serving cicchetti (sort of tapas) along with local wine, prosecco or spritz.s. Like the Spanish tapas, cicchetti is a food synonymous with Venice. Although menus change daily, they are usually dominated by crostini; slices of bread with various creative toppings; panini, which we know as sandwiches; and fritti, or fried food โ€“ mostly fish and vegetables. Cicchetti are a big part of Venetian food culture, as the perfect snack for fishermen, who arrive home from sea around 9 am and settle down in their favorite dark bars for a bite to eat and a glass of wine.

Back to the hotel and overnight.

INCLUDED: airport transfer, welcome dinner at Bacaro with drink, overnight.

In an intimate location in the heart of Venice, get to know a local knit lover. She will introduce us to the initiatives organized by her group of Venetian women such as creating roses against violence or their knit cafรจ. A wonderful opportunity to share experiences, thoughts while knitting all together in front of a chilly Spritz.

Verona: Gastronomy Experience, Breeding Farm Visit & Dyeing Demonstration In Lessinia Mountains

Breakfast. Today we will move to the Lessinia mountains around a 30 minutes drive from Verona.

Our first stop to a local producer for a great tasting experience . Here skilled hands and ancient recipes handed down the generations of Benedetti family give birth to mouthwatering cured meats and cheeses. We will go โ€œbehind the sceneโ€ to see where cheese ages and learn about what makes these artisanal products so special.

Our light lunch will take place in a unique setting - an aging cellar. Surrounded by prosciutti , salami and other fragrant cured meats we will taste 5 cured meats, 5 cheeses, 2 accompaniments, Beef Carne Salร  (salted meat) with Grana Padano DOP cheese and extra virgin olive oil accompanied by a Valpolicella wine.

A short drive we will reach a small village on the Lessinia mountains , where Cristina will accompany us to visit her alpaca and Brogna sheep breeding farm. Here with our feet in the grass we will make friends with these sweet animals and learn about the story behind this courageous project.

Cristina - the owner of this small farm decided to start her adventure with the autochthonous breed of Brogna Sheep that has been at risk of extinction. Due to its characteristics of finesse and elasticity, Brogna sheepโ€™s wool is one of the best quality native Italian wools.

Brogna yarn has a very ancient history. In medieval times, in fact, it was a source of prestige and wealth, from which the "Veronese high cloths" were obtained, precious fabrics sold throughout Europe.

Later on move to a tiny medieval village that hosts the craft workshop where Cristina carefully creates the skeins, dye the wool with natural pigments and make felt. Here we will have the unique chance to enter the laboratory where Cristina will show how she dyes her yarns from onion skins or chamomile.

Here in a comfortable and intimate wooden room our workshop will take place.

Return to the hotel later in the afternoon. Dinner at leisure and overnight.
