      Individual arrival of the participants to Vancouver. Welcome to the third largest city in Canada! Welcome and reception of the tour participants at the airport by the local German-speaking tour guide. Transfer to the hotel. Meeting and getting to know the tour group.       For many, the so-called "Pearl of the Pacific" is considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world. You will spend a full day here today. On a city tour you will get a first overview of the Olympic city 2010, which is framed by the Pacific Ocean on one side and the coastal mountains on the other. In the heart of the city, explore the huge Stanley Park with beaches and hiking trails. Later, stroll through bustling Robson Street or colorful Chinatown. Explore historic Gastown and indulge in the specialties of the local gastronomy. A visit with a panoramic view from the "Harbour Building" is worthwhile.       Leaving the Pacific Coast, the first leg of the drive takes you east to the beautiful Okanagan Valley. Vineyards and orchards abound in this sunny region. Destination for the day is the town of Kelowna located on beautiful Okanagan Lake. Be on the lookout for "Ogopogo," the legendary lake monster said to live in this lake.       Day 4: Kelowna - Banff National Park

      You will leave the sunny and dry Okanagan Valley and reach the Canadian Rocky Mountains today! First you will cross the mighty "Rogers Pass". This is the highest point of the complete Trans Canada Highway, then continue through the narrow gorge "Kicking Horse" in Yoho National Park. Watch out for the wildlife of the mountains!       Pure nature! Today is completely free to explore this magnificent national park. The region was already declared Canadaโ€™s first national park in 1885. This was done primarily to protect a natural hot spring in the town of Banff. Experience spectacular canyons, waterfalls and mountain passes! Of course you will also visit the picturesque Lake Louise, a mountain lake in a fantastic location at the foot of the Victoria Glacier, where wonderful walks are tempting.       Today is without question another highlight of your trip: It goes over the famous panoramic road "Icefield Parkway" through one of the most scenic areas of the North American continent, past snow-covered mountains and glaciers to the Columbia Icefield.       Marvel at Moose Lake and the famous Mount Robson, at over 3950 meters the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies. Then itโ€™s time to say goodbye to the national parks of the Rocky Mountains.       Continue west on the Yellowhead Highway through a vast river and lake landscape with forests as far as the eye can see. A changing panorama with mountains in the distance and beaver dams in the nearby river, through lonely and wild landscapes. Smithers is a small rural style town with a European feel, surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges. No wonder the residents have nicknamed it "Little Switzerland". (Hotel overnight in Smithers).

      From Smithers we have planned a stop at Moricetown Falls, a canyon where Native people fish for salmon. We also visit the Ksan Indian Village with its totem poles and traditional houses before continuing along the scenic Skeena River section. After a stop at the magnificent Bear Glacier, we reach the small town of Stewart for a well-deserved rest from the bus ride. (Overnight stay in Stewart)

      Today we take a break from driving and spend the day exploring the charming little town of Stewart. We cross the border and visit Hyder Alaska, a small town with less than 100 residents! About three kilometers from Stewart, it is often referred to as "the friendliest ghost town in Alaska." Then itโ€™s on to another spectacular sight: the Salmon Glacier. The first glimpse of the glacier, presents itself about 37 kilometers northeast of Stewart. This is one of the largest glaciers in the world open to visitors. Back in town later, take a stroll along the waterfront or visit the townโ€™s mining museum in Stewart. Take the rest of the day to relax, dangle your legs and enjoy a good meal. After all, despite the small size of the town, Stewart offers an abundance of restaurants! (Overnight stay at hotel in Stewart)

      The journey takes us north today, along the majestic Stewart-Cassiar Highway. This incredibly beautiful road takes us to some of the most remote and wild scenery in Canada. Keep your eyes open and cameras ready, because the chance to see wildlife is enormous! At the end of a long but unforgettable day, we reach the town of Watson Lake in the Yukon. Watson Lake is best known for its "Sign Post Forest". You can see well over a hundred thousand signs from all over the world here and look for signs from their homeland. You may even want to leave your own there! (Overnight stay at the hotel in Watson Lake)

  • Day 12 Day 12: Watson Lake - Skagway

      In the morning we will leave Watson Lake and drive to the historic town of Skagway. We will travel in the beautiful Yukon on scenic roads that will allow you to understand the vastness and beauty of this wild land. On the famous Alaska Highway we will first drive through the First Nation villages of Teslin and Tagish, then on the South Klondike to picturesque Carcross and over the alpine tundra of White Pass finally to Skagway, nestled along the Pacific coast. Skagway, the gateway to the great gold rush of 1898, has retained its Wild West style. Here we recommend a visit to the famous Red Onion Saloon, once a thriving brothel and now a charming bar and restaurant. (Overnight stay at hotel in Skagway).

      Today we leave Alaska to travel to Whitehorse, the wilderness city and capital of the Yukon. Our route will take us past the smallest desert in the world and the extraordinary colors of Emerald Lake. In Whitehorse there will still be an opportunity to explore the city and some of its main attractions. Stroll through the shops or visit some more historic sites such as the famous paddle steamer, the S.S. Klondike, restored from the Yukon Gold Rush era. (Overnight stay in Whitehorse)
