  • Day 3 South Georgia 3ร—(F/M/A)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      South Georgia 3ร—(F/M/A)

You will arrive in South Georgia, home to some of the worldโ€™s largest king penguin colonies. Possible landing points on South Georgia are:

Salisbury Plain, St. Andrews Bay, Gold Harbour: The three largest king penguin colonies in the world are located in South Georgia. At this time of year, if you are lucky, you can already see the king penguins breeding, while the still fluffy young of the previous year scurry through the colony. Elephant seals are also present here in large numbers, and the sea bear cubs frolic in the waves.

Prion Island: No bird has such a huge wingspan as the wandering albatross. A large colony of the huge animals lives on Prion.

Grytviken: The abandoned whaling station offers a small, interesting museum and a Norwegian wooden church. Of course, a visit to Shackletonโ€™s grave is not to be missed. Penguins waddle along the paths, elephant seals bask in sheltered corners.

Cooper Bay: The bay is ideal for a zodiac tour - here you can often see golden crested penguins, play ducks and skuas.

You will leave the fabulous island in the afternoon of day 7. 3 nights on board.

  • Day 4 At Sea 4ร—(F/M/A)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      At Sea 4ร—(F/M/A)

    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Gough Island 1ร—(F/M/A)

Weather permitting, take Zodiac trips around the very rarely visited Gough Island. Fantastic landscapes and a colorful variety of animals and plants such as Northern Rockhopper penguins and fur seals await you. Overnight stay on board.

  • Day 6 Tristan Da Cunha 4ร—(F/M/A)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Tristan Da Cunha 4ร—(F/M/A)

The Tristan da Cunha archipelago is famous for its fantastic bird life: rockhopper penguins, various species of albatrosses, petrels, terns, skuas and many others can be seen here with a little luck.

You will try to reach the settlement on the west side of the main island, but the four days will also give you the opportunity to land in Seal Bay on the south side or at Sandy Point on the east side of the archipelago.

Also planned is a visit to Nightingale Island with millions of seabirds such as the Yellow-billed Albatross and Noddy Terns. Two days are included as a buffer to maximize the chances of landings - even so, shore excursions are not always possible due to weather. The key is to remain flexible. 4 nights on board.

  • Day 7 At Sea 4ร—(F/M/A)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      At Sea 4ร—(F/M/A)

      St. Helena 3ร—(F/M/A)

On St. Helena the climate is pleasant and there are numerous endemic plants and bird species to see. Enjoy culture, warmth and the atmosphere of the remote island. A highlight is certainly the visit to longwood House, where Napoleon died in exile. There will also be time to explore the island on your own and for snorkeling. In the evening of the 25th day the ship leaves the port of Jamestown heading north. 3 nights on board.
