Day 1
Explore Bratislava, one of the most underrated capital cities in Europe with your local guide. Go for a drink in one of Bratislavaโs famous pubs and fall in love with tasty Slovak beer.
Day 2
Experience a tour led by a local guide in the streets of Bratislava, walk around the most beautiful places and admire the stunning architecture and its different styles. You will also see Bratislava Castle, St. Martinโs Cathedral and the historic centre of Bratislava. For a perfect contrast, you will also visit the huge monuments to communist architecture Freedom square and the Slovak Radio Building. In the afternoon you will spend some time in one of the best-known spa resorts in Slovakia โ Pieลกลฅany.
Day 3
After breakfast, you will travel north to visit the open-air museum of folk traditions. Traditional wooden houses and remarkably preserved tools are displayed here for the public. You will meet local people presenting their craftsmanship and folk culture. After taking a ride on the historical logging railway, you will visit Orava Castle. Travel back in time and enter rooms which have been restored to their original Renaissance and Baroque state.
Day 4
Keep watch out of the window as the roads lead you through the beautiful scenery of the High Tatra Mountains. Today you will visit the biggest medieval castle in Central Europe โ Spiลก Castle (UNESCO) - this is the number one filming location for movies set in medieval times, such as The Last Legion and Dragonheart. After lunch, you will enter St. James Church in the medieval town of Levoฤa (UNESCO) to see the tallest wooden altar in the world! The journey continues to the National park of Pieniny. Here you drift down the river on traditional wooden rafts of lumberjacks. Spend this night in a picturesque village perfectly located under the peaks of High Tatras.
Day 5
This morning you will enter the largest cave in the High Tatras. Admire the falling waterfalls, pools and crisp underground air, giving this cave an unforgettable atmosphere. Enjoy panoramic views in ล trbskรฉ Pleso โ the most popular mountain resort in Slovakia! Next itโs time to visit the city of Banskรก Bystrica and its exhibition about the darkest moments of WWII featuring an amazing collection of tanks, guns and uniforms. You can even enter an old Russian plane and explore it from inside.
Day 6
Start with a short transfer to the town of Zvolen to see an armored train from WWII and the medieval castle that still retains its Renaissance look. Not far away is another highlight โ the completely preserved medieval mining town of Banskรก ล tiavnica (UNESCO). After lunch, you will pick up a helmet, cloak and lamp and enter the underground mines for a tour. Free time and overnight in Bratislava.
