      Meeting in the lobby of the hotel at 8.30 am. You start by visiting the Templo Mayor. The program then includes the Historic Center and the Xochimilco district, known for its floating gardens.

      Start the day with a morning visit to the Department of Education and Plaza Santo Domingo. Then drive to the famous anthropological museum with its showpieces from the Olmec, Toltec, Aztec and Mayan cultures. You can then visit the impressive Chapultepec Park with its lakes, sculpture garden and beautiful market stalls. Finally, a visit to the Latinoamericana Tower is on the agenda.

      A stop first at the Basilica dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe โ€” the national saint of Mexico. The sacral building is one of the most important Marian shrines in Latin America and one of the largest pilgrimage cakes in the world. Continue to Teotihuacรกn. The enormous structure is dominated by the 64 metre high pyramid of the sun and the opposite moon pyramid. The view of the volcanic giants Popocatรฉpetl and Ixtaccรญhuatl accompanies part of your journey to Puebla. Beautiful secular buildings still bear witness to the former wealth of this beautiful colonial city. The biggest attraction, however, is the Dominican Church with its magnificent rosary chapel.

      Jardรญn Botรกnico in Zapotitlรกn Salinas is a natural landscape โ€” a cactus forest with meter-high columnar cacti, palm trees and elephant foot trees, which can be explored by stairs and paths. Continue through the picture-book landscapes of the Sierra Madre del Sur to the excavations of Monte Albรกn. Set on an artificially flattened ridge, the ruins, built under the zapotecs and mixtecs, are surrounded by a wreath of terraces, houses, temples and tombs on the slopes of the mountain. Arrival in the evening in Oaxaca, the capital of the state of the same name and โ€œCity of Indiansโ€.

      In the morning you will visit the Museo Cultural de Oaxaca, which is housed in a former Dominican monastery. Among the most impressive finds are the gold works from Tomb 7 of Monte Albรกn, which are among the masterpieces of Mixtec goldsmithing. Guests can spend the afternoon in the picturesque old town of Oaxaca. Strolling through the romantic alleys is a must โ€” merchants, musicians, handicrafts, hot chocolate, tortillas and grilled locusts โ€” the sensory impressions are overwhelming!

      Drive to the municipality of Santa Maria del Tule. In the centre of the village stands a huge Huehuehรผke tree, which has reached a circumference of more than 59 m over the course of its 2,000 years of life. This is followed by a visit to the archaeological site of Mitla. The group of columns with the Patio de las Grecas is one of the highlights of pre-Hispanic architecture in Mexico.
      A next stop in the small village of Santiago Matatlรกn. Visit a mezcal distillery here. The famous Mexican spirit is made from the heart of the agave. During a tasting, of course, the famous worm, the โ€œGusano del Magueyโ€, should not be missing โ€” or maybe? Now drive through the mountains of Sierra Madre del Sur to Tehuantepec stopping on the Pacific coast, such as Playa Cangrejo. Guests can
      take a refreshing dip or a stroll along the beach, as well as a lunch with delicious seafood.

      Drive to Chiapa de Corzo, one of the oldest Spanish branches in Chiapas. During a boat expedition, you will experience the Sumidero Canyon: steep walls up to 1,000 metres high are an ideal refuge for large waterfowl, spider monkeys and crocodiles. You will
      then drive through the highlands of Chiapas to San Cristรณbal de las Casas, which is located at an altitude of around 2,200 m.

      Day 9: San Juan Chamula & Zinacantรกn

      As part of a tour of San Cristรณbal, you will see the cathedral, the Palacio Municipal and also the most beautiful monument in the city, the Baroque church of Santo Domingo. You will then drive to the Indian village of San Juan Chamula โ€” the ceremonial center of Chamula and Zinacantรกn. The church combines Catholicism and ancient Mayan rituals. Continue to Zinacantรกn, the โ€œBats Squareโ€ in Nahuatl. You will see the mighty colonial church and experience the descendants of the Maya as a self-confident community. After a walking tour, you will be a guest in a small weaving mill of three sisters. Learn more about the village life and the weaving of the dedicated small entrepreneurs with freshly prepared tortillas.

      Today you will drive through one of the most pristine landscapes towards Palenque. Depending on the traffic situation, stop at the beautiful waterfalls of Roberto Barrios or the falls of Misol-Hรก.

      In the morning you will experience perhaps Mexicoโ€™s most beautiful ruined city, once the residence of the legendary Mayan King Pacal and his son and successor Chan Bablum. The Temple of Inscriptions with more than 620 hieroglyphs, the Grand Palace, the Sun Temple and the North Temple with its martial scenes tell the exciting story of the once powerful rulers and their city. Afterwards drive along the Gulf Coast to Campeche. Within a fortified wall and numerous bastions are the most beautiful and lovingly restored colonial buildings, the Zรณcalo and La Concepciรณn Cathedral.

      Visit of Uxmal, one of the ruins of the late classical Mayan era. The landmark of the city is the pyramid of the magician. In the afternoon we will continue to the colonial capital and cultural center of Yucatรกn, Mรฉrida. Mรฉrida boasts colonial charm, narrow streets and romantic horse chokes.

      Chichรฉn Itzรก is perhaps the most famous archaeological site of Yucatรกn. You will see, among others, the large ball court, the sacrificial fountain โ€œEl Cenoteโ€, the observatory โ€œEl Caracolโ€, the pyramid โ€œEl Castilloโ€. In the afternoon you will drive to the Caribbean coast. Welcome to the โ€œend of the rainbowโ€. Thatโ€™s what Maya called this beautiful spot of Earth, one of Americaโ€™s most beautiful tropical paradises. Arrival in Cancรบn around 5 pm. Transfer to the airport or to your booked extended hotel.
