Day 1: Airport/station pick up and city tour
Stop At: Gandantegchenling Monastery, 1,5 KM North West of the Central Square, Ulaanbaatar Mongolia
The beautiful Gandan Buddhist Monastery in the capital of Mongolia is a great place to start our introduction to Mongolian culture. The Tibetan name translates to the "Great Place of Complete Joy" and its colourful wall and 26.5-meter-high statue of Avalokiteลvara make it an impressive destination.

This museum is a cultural, scientific, and educational organisation.

Day 2: Naadam Opening Ceremony
Stop At: Naadam Center, Chinggis avenue-6, Stadium Orgil G-201, Ulaanbaatar Mongolia
Today you will watch the inauguration ceremony of Naadam Festival which is opened by the president of Mongolia. The opening ceremony features marches and music from soldiers, monks, and athletes and live performance of the national instrument Morin Khuur and a choir concert before the real fun begins!
There will be a tournament of wrestling and archery in the Central Stadium while horse races take place outside the city centre.

Day 3: Naadam celebrations day 2
Stop At: Naadam Center, Chinggis avenue-6, Stadium Orgil G-201, Ulaanbaatar Mongolia
Thousands of Mongolianโs compete in the capital city for greatest wrestler, archer and rider. There is also a fourth traditional game held during Naadam โKnuckle bone shootingโ a bowling kind of game where you flick a block of wood through the air to knock over stacked up targets. We shall experience all of these sports and also explore Ulaanbataar during the festivities.

Day 4: Journey North
Stop At: Erdenet, Erdenet, Orkhon Province
Mongolia's second largest city. On our drive North we will stop here to rest in one of the cities many modern hotels.

Day 5: Extinct Volcanoes of Uran Togoo
Stop At: Uran Togoo, Mongolia
The extinct volcanoes of Uran Togoo and Tulga National Park are perfect for a moderate to challenging hike up one of the sacred Peaks. The volcanoes hold spiritual significance to local shamans and it is tradition to walk clockwise around the ring-summit. Enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding landscape before we complete the final leg of our drive North to Mรถrรถn, the province capital of Khovsgol.

Day 6: Day 1 of Horse Riding
Stop At: Lake Hovsgol National Park, Khatgal Mongolia
Saddle up for the spectacular ride to our first campsite on the shores of the lake. Over the next few days we will ride through mountain meadows, green woodlands and mountain passes as we explore Khovsgolโs breathtaking wilderness.

Day 7: Day 2 of Horse Riding

The shores of the blue pearl. This is a good day to get comfortable in the saddle. The terrain is varied with open meadows and sparse green woodland. As we ride past the last signs of civilisation we can relax on the shores of the lake skimming stones and taking in the majestic beauty of nature.

Day 8: Day 3 of Horse Riding

The wild places of the world. The most amazing day of riding. The scenery only gets more spectacular as we ride between the shores of the lake and the foothills of towering mountains. Wild flower meadows become abundant and many streams flow down from the mountains as we discover a paradise of natural sacred places.

Day 9: Day 4 of Horse Riding

From the lake through the mountains. Our journey takes us away from the shores of the lake, meandering through mountain passes and into into lush green valleys with fresh flowing streams and tall trees. These ancient paths have been travelled for generations and you will feel the excitement of adventure stirring.

Day 10: Day 5 of Horse Riding

Exploring peaceful river valleys. The terrain opens up into wider valleys with rolling mountains all around. Itโs a day for taking in the majestic beauty and tranquillity of this natural and unchanging landscape.

Day 11: Day 6 Ride into Renchklumb Village
Stop At: Lake Hovsgol National Park, Khatgal Mongolia
Riding onto plains. As we descend from the mountains into a vast grassland steppe the remote village of Renchklumb appears in the distance. At the village we are greeted by the local wrestling champion โAmartuvshinโ and his family who give us a tour of their home and village.

Day 12: Rest Day with a Local Film Maker
Stop At: Lake Hovsgol National Park, Khatgal Mongolia
Today we cross the vast mountain plain that lies between the two remote villages of the area. Once at the second village and at the guest house a local filmmaker will show us two short documentary films he made about the local Tsataan tribe in the 80s.

Day 13: Ride into the mountains to meet the Tsaatan Reindeer Herders
Stop At: Lake Hovsgol National Park, Khatgal Mongolia
A short distance from the village by 4x4 we meet local Tsataan Shaman and his son who has prepared horses for us to ride to the Tsataan camp high in the mountain plateaus. Keep a look out for the tepee style tents and herders of reindeer to find them.

Day 14: Ride Reindeer and learn more about the Ancient Tsaatan reindeer herders
Stop At: Lake Hovsgol National Park, Khatgal Mongolia
The Tsaatan our proud of their culture and today we learn how to be part of this unique and ancient tribe. They will show us how they tend to their herd, teach you how to milk and even ride reindeer as the Tsaatan do.

Day 15: Return through the mountains - Walks in the meadows

Today we head towards the higher mountain ranges of Hovsgol National park. This area of the park is completely uninhabited and the pristine beauty of this place is perfect for leisurely hikes in wildflower meadow and besides mountain streams.

Day 16: Day 2 in the mountains
Stop At: Lake Hovsgol National Park, Khatgal Mongolia
High mountain passes and spectacular views. As we navigate the high passes there are spectacular views of the valleys below. We are in no rush and you have the opportunity to stop and take short walks whilst enjoying the beautiful scenery before returning to Hatgal and picking up the road to Mรถrรถn.
