      A Hop On-Hop Off city tour (included) takes you to Glasgowโ€™s most important sights, such as St. Mungoโ€™s Cathedral. The Victorian and Art Nouveau architecture dates from the 18th to 20th centuries, when the city was a prosperous trading and shipbuilding center. Today, Glasgow is an important national cultural center with renowned museums and a lively music scene. Train journey to Oban, the port city in the west of Scotland. It is considered the gateway to the Hebridean Islands. In the evening, visit one of the many fish restaurants on the harbor and enjoy a freshly caught fish dish. 2 nights in Oban. (breakfast)

      Today you can take a day trip to the Isle of Mull, the third largest of the Hebridean islands (optional). We recommend booking ferry tickets in advance as availability is limited). On this island, you will find charming little villages offering enchanting arts and crafts. Nature lovers will also get their moneyโ€™s worth here. The Hebridean Islands are home to a wealth of wildlife, such as sea eagles. With a bit of luck, you may even spot whales, dolphins and other sea creatures on the boat crossing. Alternatively, it is worth visiting the Dunollie Museum, Castle & Grounds, the seat of the Clan MacDougall for over 1,000 years (a 30-minute walk from Oban town center along the coast). The ruins offer fantastic views across the bay to the islands. (Breakfast)

      Train journey through spectacular scenery to Fort William. The town is located in the western Highlands and is considered the gateway to Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK at 1,345 meters.       Bus trip to Inverness, the largest city and cultural center of the Scottish Highlands. The cityโ€™s sights include the 19th century cathedral and the 18th century church of Old High St. Stephenโ€™s. 3 nights in Inverness. (breakfast)

  • Day 7 Days 7-8: Inverness And Isle Of Skye

      Days 7-8: Inverness And Isle Of Skye

      A guided day trip to the Isle of Skye takes place on day 7 or 8. Early in the morning, you will set off in a minibus towards the Isle of Skye. On the way you will visit the mystical Loch Ness and who knows, maybe you will spot Nessi! Continue through the dramatic landscape of the Highlands to Eilean Donan Castle, Scotlandโ€™s most famous film set. Various films have been shot here, from Braveheart to James Bond and Bollywood productions. Then itโ€™s on to the Isle of Skye, along the west coast to the impressive Red Cuillin mountains and to Sligachan, where you can immortalize the clear mountain water during a photo stop. In the islandโ€™s capital Portree, you then have the opportunity to explore the town and enjoy a bite to eat in one of the small restaurants and cafés. Afterwards, other highlights of the island are waiting to be discovered, such as the rock formations of The Old Man Storr and The Kilt. After a stop in Kyleakin, where you have the opportunity to enjoy the unique view of the ruins of Castle Moil or the Skye Bridge and the Eilean Ban, you return to Inverness via a different route. The other day in Inverness is at your disposal. How about a visit to the Victorian Market, where you can buy food, clothing and local arts and crafts? Alternatively, you can learn about the local history of the city and the Highlands at the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery. If you want to make your day more active, a boat trip to see the dolphins in the Moray Firth Bay is a good option (optional). (breakfast)
