Itinerary of your trip Gorongosa Adventure Tour - 14 Days

  • Day 1 Day 1: The Journey Begins
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 1: The Journey Begins

Have you watered the flowers and left the mailbox keys with the neighbors? Then youโ€™re ready to go. Youโ€™re flying to Africa.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Arrival In Beira
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 2: Arrival In Beira

After landing at Beira airport, you will be greeted with a smile by your tour guide and your journey through Mozambique can begin. First of all, you will go on a city tour of Mozambiqueโ€™s second largest city, which has a fascinating history. The Mediterranean influences are particularly evident in the old town. The Grande Hotel Beira was built during the colonial era and embodied the cityโ€™s prosperity and progress. Once the largest hotel in Africa with imposing Art Deco elements and an Olympic-sized swimming pool, it is now a huge ruin and serves as a refuge for the homeless. The port of Beira is also a busy place that we absolutely must pay a visit to during our tour of the city.

      Meals
      Dinner is included.

      Where to stay
      Sena Business & Spa
The Sena Business & Spa is located in the center of Beira. There are numerous restaurants and stores in the immediate vicinity. The hotel is a comfortable and modern accommodation and offers elegantly furnished and spacious rooms. • Day 3 Day 3: The Wilderness Calls

      Day 3: The Wilderness Calls

Today and in the coming days, a major highlight of your trip is already on the program, as dubbed "Africaโ€™s Lost Eden" by National Geographic: We drive to Gorongosa National Park. We head north inland on a bumpy road. Itโ€™s called the "African massage". The park is located in the heart of central Mozambique at the southern end of the Great African Rift Valley. It covers around 3,770 square kilometers and consists of typical bush landscape, river valleys, plateaus and mountains covered in tropical rainforest. Gorongosa is home to an astonishing variety of animals and plants, some of which are endemic and therefore cannot be found anywhere else in the world. A hotspot on the migration route of migratory birds. Many of the parkโ€™s animal populations have been greatly reduced by decades of civil war and poaching. Thanks to effective park management and the reintroduction of important species, wildlife populations are now back to natural levels and you can experience the park in its original splendor. After arriving in Chitengo, the first three-hour safari in an open off-road vehicle awaits you in the afternoon.

      Meals
Breakfast and dinner are included in the price.

      Accommodation
      Montebelo Gorongosa Lodge
Montebelo Gorongosa Lodge is a comfortable safari lodge located in the heart of Gorongosa National Park. The lodge offers great views of the surrounding hills and plains of the park and is surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. You stay in one of the cozy rooms or bungalows, which are spread over several buildings in the extensive grounds. There are a variety of activities to choose from, including game viewing, guided walks and hikes, bird watching and boat trips on the nearby river. The lodge also has a swimming pool, a library and a gift store selling handmade local products. The in-house restaurant serves delicious international dishes as well as local cuisine prepared from fresh and local ingredients. Meals can be enjoyed either in the restaurant or outside on the terrace overlooking the surroundings.
