Day 1: 4x4 tour in the Persani and Harghita Mountains and bear watching from a local wildlife hide

Stop At: Varghis Gorges, DJ132A, Meresti Romania
Discover a truly hidden and surprising place of Transylvania, the Varghis canyon located in the PerลŸani Mountains, part of the Eastern Carpathians mountain range. Walk through the 4 km long rock passage and visit one of the 100 caves registered in the protected area of the canyon together with your experienced local guide. The trail goes along numerous wooden suspension bridges set above the Varghis stream which makes this trip even more exciting and fun.

Day 2: Exploring the Harghita and Gurghiu Mountains passing by isolated, traditional villages.

Life in the dispersed mountainous village of Varsag is fascinating and harsh in the same time. Some people still live like 50 years ago, earning a living from subsistence agriculture and forestry. Many houses are scattered in the heart of nature kilometers away from any facility like a school, a shop or a church. Neighboring houses can be separated from each other by a forest or by a field or meadow. The landscape is breathtaking with numerous mineral springs, crystal clear streams rich in trouts, pastures covered by wild flowers, glimmering waterfalls and dense forests rich in game. Step back in time and experience the greatness and simplicity of the locals living in Varsag.

Day 3: Visiting the Red Lake and the Bicaz Gorges, via ferrata climbing tour, hiking to the Ceahlau Massif

Stop At: Lacu Rosu (Red Lake), Lacu Rosu Romania
Enjoy an easy walk around the lake, learn about the stories and legends linked to the area, taste a local delicacy and learn about the local culture. During this walk your guide will give you various options for via ferrata and hiking trails in the Bicaz Gorges - Hasmas Mountains National Park, so you can decide which one suits you the most based on your interests and fitness level.

The Bicaz Gorges are famous for their 1000 ft. limestone rocks towering over narrow roads and passes. Experience the thrill of rock climbing with this 1.5-2 h via ferrata adventure on the rocky walls of the Canyon! This engineered vertical adventure powered by metal rungs, fixed iron ropes and an aerial bridge, is totally secure and perfect for those of all experience levels. Strap on your harness and follow the instructions of your guide, conquer your fear of height and enjoy the gorgeous scenery of Red Lake, the surrounding mountain peaks and the Bicaz Gorges from above.

the Ceahlau Mountain is one of the biggest tourist attraction of the Eastern Carpathians due to its beauty and moderate difficulty that makes it accessible even for inexperienced hikers. Bordered by large valleys that separate it from the surrounding mountains, Ceahlau has the appearance of a dominating massif, easy to spot from the neighboring regions.

Day 4: 4x4 tour in the Hasmas Mountains: isolated mountainous villages, thrilling wilderness routes and great belvedere points

The Hasmas Mountains are one of the least known and fascinating regions of Europe. The rugged mountain chain is a dramatic mix of almost untouched forests, pure streams, beautiful gorges, rocky uplands and rolling farmland. Besides the stunning scenery, youโ€™ll meet on the route local people and youโ€™ll be witness of their traditional way of living, scenic lookout points and thrilling wilderness routes. We pass through small villages, hidden valleys and along mountain ridges giving you a unique experience with some fantastic photo opportunities. Optionally easy hiking trail to the top of the Ecem Mountains (1707 m) in the Bicaz Gorges- Hasmas Mountains National Park.

Day 5: Crossing trough the Ciuc Mountainson on exciting wilderness routes and discovering the Land of Volcanoes

Stop At: Saint Anna Lake, Loc. Tusnad approach from Bixad, Baile Tusnad 535100 Romania
In one of the twin craters of the Csomรกd Mountain was formed Central Europe`s only volcanic lake, the charming Saint Anne Lake. Its surface is about 949-950 m above sea level and it is part of the Mohos Nature Reserve. Its charm for tourists has the roots into the legends surrounding this place, the beautiful landscape, the healing properties and into the fact that it is also a great place to get in touch with nature and relax.

Stop At: Mohos Peat-Bog, Loc. Tusnad, Baile Tusnad, Romania, Baile Tusnad 535100 Romania
Here is the best place for admiring fantastic plant rarities, carnivore plants, round leaved moor-grass and more than 20 types of sphagnaceae. You can also find bog berry, pine, marsh berry, bog-rosemary from the ice age.

Stop At: Balvanyos, Balvanyos, Covasna County, Central Romania, Transylvania
Due to the post-volcanic phenomenon, this area is the country of mineral waters, baths and moffets, where one can find a wide variety of waters containing iron, alkaline mineral salts, and even mildly radio-active waters with therapeutic effects. The inhabitants of the area have used these natural resources in curative purposes for hundreds of years. First we climb up to the Sulphurous Cave, which is the world's most active moffet, daily emanating more than 4000 m3 gas. On the forest trail we go down to the Apor bath, where we find mineral springs with chemical composition considered to be unique in Europe

The fortified church is one of the most impressive Saxon fortifications in Transylvania, Prejmer Fortified Church. Here you can be amazed by the powerful surrounding walls and the great architecture of the church.
