Day 1: Tbilisi City tour

Stop At: Tsminda Sameba Cathedral, Elia Hill, Tbilisi Georgia
Trinity cathedral (1995-2004) the highest church in Georgia, where thousands of children are baptized every year.

Stop At: Metekhi Cathedral, Metekhi St, Tbilisi Georgia
Metekhi church of 13th c. which stands on a plateau overlooking the river Mtkvari and Old Tbilisi
Duration: 40 minutes

Stop At: Narikala Fortress, Tbilisi Georgia
Ride up to Narikala fortress by the areal cable car connecting Europe Square and the hilltop the fortress stands on. Built in 4th c. Narikala served as a main fortification of Tbilisi throughout the centuries and was attacked numerous times.
Duration: 40 minutes

Stop At: Abanotubani, Abano St, Tbilisi Georgia
ake stroll downhill to the old city; follow Botanical Street, visit Tbilisi Mosque, Legvtakhevi (the Fig Ravine) and witness the natural waterfall in downtown. Continue to the Ottomanโ€™s time Sulfur Bathhouses. Walk along the Meidan square, Sharden and The King Erekle II streets; explore souvenir shops and art galleries nearby.

Sioni cathedral, the former seat of patriarch, also stands here. The cathedral was first established in 6th-7th cc., but was destroyed and rebuilt several times throughout the centuries. The present cathedral dates back to 13th c.

Day 2: Tbilisi - Gori - Upliststikhe - Kutaisi

Uplistsikhe cave town โ€“ one of the oldest inhabited places of Georgia. It dates back to early Iron Ages. The town is cut out from rock with secret tunnels and passes connecting ancient chambers and halls.

Pass By: Kutaisi, Kutaisi, Imereti Region
ontinue driving to the West Imereti region. The road goes through Rikoti Pass and tunnel, the largest one in Georgia. Evening arrive in Kutaisi the center of Imereti region. Enjoy the sunset from the yard of Bagrati Cathedral 11th c. included in UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 3: Kutaisi - Sataplia - Martvili - Mestia

Stop At: Sataplia Cave and Nature Reserve, Banoja, Kutaisi Georgia
The sight is famous for dinosaur footprints conserved here. The cave is 900 meters long and contains lots of stalactites and stalagmites of extraordinary beauty. The impression of the cave is enhanced with light and audio effects.

Martvili Canyon, sight of local waterfalls. Take a boat trip in the river Abasha and observe the surrounding area.

Pass By: Mestia, Mestia, Upper Svaneti, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region
Continue driving to the North and arrive in Mestia โ€“ the heart of Svaneti region โ€“ located at an elevation of 1500 meters. Svaneti is unique for its Svan towers, which were used for defensive as well as dwelling purposes. Some of them date back as early as 9th c.

Day 4: Mestia - Ushguli - Mestia

Stop At: Ushguli, Ushguli, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Region
Today we have off-road adventure to the most remote and isolated village Ushguli with 4x4WD vehicles. The community comprises 4 villages and the whole area has been included in UNESCO World Heritage Site. The village is the highest settled area in the whole Europe (2200 m above sea level). We will pass several villages on the way to Upper Svaneti, including Ipari and Kala and visit small churches with frescos preserved throughout the centuries.

Day 5: Mestia - Zugdidi - Batumi

Stop At: Margiani's House Museum, Lanchvali Street, Mestia 3200 Georgia
Margiani tower โ€“ a Svan tower from 12th cand Svanetian dwelling โ€œMachubiโ€. Visit Svaneti Museum, where you see unique manuscripts , the 9th 10th 12th cc Gospel books, chained golden and silver icons. Italian photographer and mountaineer Vittorio Sella (1859 โ€“1943) took photographs of mountains, local villages and people, which are regarded as some of the finest ever made.

Stop At: Dadiani Palaces Historical and Architectural Museum, Zviad Gamsakhurdia St., 2, Zugdidi 2100 Georgia
Arrive in Zugdidi โ€“ the administrative center of Samegrelo region and former capital of principality of Mingrelia. Visit Dadiani Palace โ€“ a museum established by Prince David Dadiani. The museum houses death masks of Napoleon Bonaparte, some of the important cultural heritage items and archaeological artifacts found in Nokalakevi excavation site.

Stop At: Batumi, Batumi, Adjara Region
Continue drive to Adjara region, capital city and port Batumi. Relaxing evening, enjoy walking in Batumi old and new boulevards and the dancing fountain show.

Day 6: Batumi - Kutaisi

Stop At: Gonio Fortress, Left Bank of the River Chorokhi, Gonio 384542 Georgia
Gonio fortress located 10 km from Batumi. Gonio was first mentioned by Pliny the Elder in 1st c. AD. In 2nd c. AD it functioned as a well-fortified Roman city and later came under the rule of Byzantine Empire.

Stop At: Batumi Botanical Gardens, Mtsvane Kontskhi (Green Cape), Batumi Georgia
Batumi Botanical Garden with beautiful views over the black sea shores and numerous indigenous plants. The garden was established by Russian botanists Andrey Krasnov (1912) and expanded during Soviet Era. Nowadays it occupies 108 ha and has 2037 taxonomic units of indigenious plants from all over the world.

Stop At: Road to Gelati Monastery, Motsameta, Kutaisi 4600 Georgia
Drive to Kutaisi and visit Gelati Academy built during the reign of the King David the Builder in 12th c. Academy employed some of the most celebrated Georgian scientists, theologians and philosophers, many of whom had previously been active at various orthodox monasteries abroad. For a long time Gelati Monastery was one of the main cultural and intellectual centers in Georgia.

Svetitskhoveli Cathedral translated as the โ€œliving pillar cathedralโ€ was built in 11th c. and is associated with various legends from early Christian times.
