Day 1: Bratislava
Explore one of the most underrated capital cities in Europe with your local guide. Go for a drink in one of Bratislavaโs famous pubs and fall in love with tasty Slovak beer. Fun is guaranteed!
Day 2: Cicmany
Spend your second day in the picturesque village of ฤiฤmany. The village is famous for its wooden houses with typical decoration on the walls. The locals still wear the regional folk costumes. They will show you traditional local life and customs. You will have a lot of fun learning to mow with a wooden scythe, sing folk songs and play the unique music instrument inscribed on the UNESCO list โ the โfujaraโ.
Day 3: Open-Air Museum of a Slovak Village - Terchovรก
Today you visit the Open-air museum of a Slovak village. Traditional wooden houses and remarkably preserved tools have been brought here and displayed for the eager public. You will meet local people presenting their craftsmanship and folk culture. Listen to their stories and find out how they live. Tour continues to the National Park of Little Fatra where you drift down the river on the wooden rafts of lumberjacks. Next stop is the village of Terchovรก - the birthplace of the Slovak version of Robin Hood - Juraj Jรกnoลกรญk, who robbed nobles and gave his loot to the poor. Afterwards, you will visit shepherds on a sheep farm to see the traditional production of wool, milk, whey and especially the Slovak sheep cheese โbryndzaโ.
Day 4: Svรคtรฝ Krรญลพ - ล trbskรฉ Pleso
The wooden church in Svรคtรฝ Krรญลพ is one of the largest wooden constructions in Central Europe. Your eyes will feast on spectacular biblical paintings and the baroque interior. Not far away from here is the center of folk traditions - an ideal place to learn about regional cultural traditions, demonstrated by regular thematic exhibitions. After lunch, you will have time to explore the mountain resort of ล trbskรฉ Pleso in the Tatra Mountains. You will then spend the evening tasting the original Slovak specialties, local beer and wine.
Day 5: ฤierny Hron Steam Railway - Forestry Open-Air Museum - Banskรก ล tiavnica
Today you will take a ride on one of the most spectacular railroads in Central Europe โ ฤierny Hron Steam Railway. The route twists amongst overwhelming woodland scenery to reach the highlight of our journey โ The Forestry Open-Air Museum. Enjoy your time during a picnic lunch full of delicious local dishes. Your tour then continues to Banskรก ล tiavnica - a completely preserved medieval town. Thanks to its rich mining history, this town has been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Explore the townโs stunning attractions, before tasting the real jewels of the town in the form of quality Slovak beers in a local brewery - all made with special care.
Day 6: Departure day
