From here, it is about one hour drive to your lux camp where you will be staying for the night. However, before getting to Merzouga, you cross Azrou, Ifran, Midelt, Erfoud, and then Merzouga.
You stop first in Ifran and Azrou. The Cedar forest of Azrou is attractive. You will see wild monkeys and you can take pictures. After that, you continue your way to Midelt where you will have lunch. When you get to Erfoud, known for fossil mining, you can stop to meet local artisans before continuing onto Erg Chebbi. Erg Chebbi is an extensive complex of sand dunes that shift and travel depending on the changing wind. When you reach Merzouga, itโs time for a camel ride through the dunes of Erg Chebbi. On the way, you watch the most beautiful sunset in your life where the color of the sky mixes with the color of sands. After one hour ride, you get to your lux camp and you spend your night under the starry sky.
