      At the airport in Tirana your tour guide will welcome you. You will cross the northern Macedonian border to Ohrid (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The city is often referred to as the "Jerusalem of the Balkans" due to its abundance of churches. You will get to know your tour guide and fellow travelers better over dinner. 1 night in Ohrid. (A)

      Day 2: Nature Experience Matka

      After breakfast you will explore the historical streets of Ohrid during a city walk. Afterwards, you will set off in the direction of Skopje. On the way you will visit one of the most popular natural regions of Northern Macedonia, Lake Matka. Enjoy a short walk to the medieval Matka Monastery, where your boat is already waiting for you. From the water you will discover the mighty gorge and the stalagmite cave Vrelo. Only a few kilometers away is the capital Skopje. During your tour you will see, among others, the Turkish Bazaar and the Daut Pasha Hamam, witnesses from the Ottoman period. 1 night in Skopje. (F)

      Day 3: Kosovo

      declared its independence in 2008, which remains controversial to this day. A symbol of the new beginning is the Newborn Monument in Pristina, which was inaugurated on the day of the declaration of independence. On each anniversary, the sculpture is repainted - a reflection of the countryโ€™s development and soul. During your city tour you will pay a visit to this monument and other sights. In the afternoon, the monastery of the Patriarchate of Peja (UNESCO World Heritage Site), located at the entrance to the Rugovska-Klisura Gorge, awaits you. Look forward to a tour with the monks.       Picturesquely, on a hill above the village of Ras near Novi Pazar, lies the oldest church in Serbia, St. Peterโ€™s Church (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The aura of the nave as well as the adjacent cemetery lend majesty to the ancient structure. After sightseeing and a lunch break, arrive in Belgrade in the evening. 2 nights there. (B/A)

      In Belgrade you will get to know the most beautiful corners of the metropolis on a city walk: Kalemegdan Park and the impressive fortress overlooking the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers. Heavily fought over, the fortification was destroyed and rebuilt several times. Today, the fortress hill is divided into Upper and Lower Town and Big and Little Kalemegdan. Marvel at the beautifully situated area and its long history. You will end your tour in the artistsโ€™ and trendy district of Skadarlija - ideal for starting your free afternoon. (F)

      Day 6: "Sargan 8" And Visegrad

      Through green forests and mountains you drive into the nature park Sargan. The "Sargan 8", a narrow-gauge railroad from the 1920s, runs here. At the historic railroad station you board the restored steam locomotive and feel transported back a century. Visegrad with its beautiful bridge over the Drina River (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and Sarajevo await you. After an orientation stroll through the old town, you will stop for dinner in the capital. Do you still feel like an evening walk to the White Fortress? The view of the city at sunset is highly recommended. 1 night in Sarajevo. (B/A)

      After breakfast, you will explore Sarajevo, one of the most culturally diverse cities in Europe. In the old Turkish Quarter, you will see craftsmen practicing their art in the coppersmith street. After the tour, you will have an optional opportunity to take a closer look at the Bosnian War and visit the escape tunnel from the time of the 1992-95 city siege. Afterwards, you will start a relaxing afternoon in Mostar. On your guided walking tour of the Old Town, stroll across the Stari Most Bridge (UNESCO World Heritage Site) - the symbolic bridge between East and West - and enjoy a coffee in the Old Town. 1 night in Mostar.       Today you will see the sea! Dubrovnik in southern Croatia is considered the most beautiful city on the Adriatic. The city walls can be walked all around, but the old town itself is also worth an extensive exploration. You have the afternoon at leisure. Stroll through the beautiful alleys or book an excursion to the island of Lokrum with your local tour guide. 1 night in Dubrovnik. (F)

      drive to Montenegro to the magnificent Kotor (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The medieval town with its winding and pink-paved streets flirts with its Venetian and Byzantine influences. Enter the old town through the main gate and begin your tour at the main square with the clock tower. Against the picturesque backdrop of the green-forested mountains, the idyllic square lined with cafรฉs exudes a charm that invites you to linger.       Day 10: Pure Nature In Montenegro

      Cetinje is the historical capital of Montenegro. Stately embassy buildings and linden avenues are silent witnesses of the former political importance of the pretty little town. After your tour you will go to Lovcen National Park with its magnificent mountain scenery. The mausoleum of the poet prince and national hero Peter Njegos is located on the second highest peak. From here you have an indescribable view - in clear weather even as far as Italy! Later you will visit the mountain village of Njegusi, famous for its ham. Here you will taste delicious Montenegrin specialties such as smoked cheese, wine and of course ham. (B/M)

      visit the historical town of Kruja. Cobblestones, narrow streets and wooden stores await you in the Ottoman bazaar. The fortress, which is worth seeing, also houses the historical museum dedicated to the national hero Skanderbeg and his resistance against the Ottomans.
