      Arrival in Tbilisi in the early morning. Reception and transfer to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel. Your rooms are already at your disposal, so you can rest right away. The rest of the day is at your free disposal.

      After breakfast you will drive to Mtskheta - a UNESCO World Heritage and settled museum with many archaeological and historical monuments. In the afternoon you will go on sightseeing tour of Tbilisi. You will visit the sights of the city and stroll through the narrow streets of the Old Town.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Tbilisi - Ananuri - Stepanzminda - Gudauri

      Todayโ€™s excursion will take you over the 2,395 m high Cross Pass to Stepanzminda. On the way you will stop to visit the late medieval fortress of Ananuri at the foot of the Great Caucasus. In Stepanzminda you will enjoy the impressive view of the snow-capped Kazbek, the highest mountain in Georgia. During a 3-hour hike you will reach the Trinity Church Gergeti at the foot of the Kazbek (moderately difficult, there are about 400 meters of altitude to climb). Alternatively, we offer you the ascent by four-wheel drive vehicle (for an extra charge โ‚ฌ 80.- (per vehicle, max. 5 persons) bookable on site).

      Today you will explore the ancient cave town of Uplisziche, one of the oldest settlements of mankind and once the most important center of paganism (moderately difficult hike on rocky plateau. Sturdy shoes required).


      In the afternoon the journey continues to the west. Towards evening you will reach Kutaisi, the third largest city in Georgia.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Kutaisi - Sataplia - Akhaltsikhe

      Day 6: Kutaisi - Sataplia - Akhaltsikhe

      After breakfast you will go to the farmersโ€™ market of Kutaisi. Here you will experience the original Georgia with its friendly people offering spices, fruits, vegetables and cheese from their own production. Afterwards we will go to Sataplia Nature Park. Mount Sataplia, an extinct volcano, was a sea bay millions of years ago, where dinosaurs also lived - their imprints can still be seen today. The main attraction is the 600 m long karst cave with its bizarre stalactite formations. The tour continues to the Gelati Monastery. It is one of the highlights of Georgian art and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon you will drive to the historical town of Akhaltsikhe.

      Early in the morning you will drive to the cave town of Vardzia - a cave complex carved into a steep face of Mount Erusheti, which once contained about 3000 dwellings on seven floors. Another attraction today is the monastery church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary with a columned portal and a large hall. Afterwards, you will continue through small Caucasus mountains to Tbilisi - passing small villages, shepherds driving their sheep across the meadows and picturesque lakes. Todayโ€™s route ends in Tbilisi, where you will spend the night.

      Today you will visit one of the largest wine-growing regions of Georgia - Alasani Valley on the Kakheti Wine Route. Look forward to wine tasting! Afterwards you will visit the royal town of Sighnaghi - surrounded by 23 towers and situated on a hill, which allows a dreamlike view of the Kiziki Valley. In the afternoon you will go to Gremi and the fortress of the same name, majestically perched on a hill. Afterwards you will drive to Telawi. Dinner in a family hotel.

      After breakfast you will walk to the center of Telavi and visit Batonis Ziche Fortress, the castle of King Erekle II - the only preserved royal residence in East Georgia. Before leaving Telavi, you will visit a very special natural monument: an over 900 years old, 46 m high oriental plane tree. Continue to the village of Zinandali, famous among other things for its wines. Return to Tbilisi. Dinner in a local restaurant with traditional program.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Tbilisi - Sadakhlo/Bargrataschen - Haghpat - Dilijan

      After breakfast you will drive to the border with Armenia. Here you will change the vehicle and the tour guide. With your Armenian tour guide you will continue towards Haghpat Monastery. In the afternoon you will reach the resort town of Dilijan in the "Armenian Switzerland". Get to know the place during a short tour and visit the museum street "Sharambeyan".

  • Day 11 Day 11: Dilijan- Sevan - Noratus - Yerevan

      After breakfast you will drive to Lake Sevan, the "blue pearl of Armenia". On a peninsula in the lake you will find the remains of a monastery, which in the Middle Ages was used as a retreat by the Armenian aristocracy, among others. Another highlight of the day is the cemetery field of Noratus with its cross stones, the "Khachkars". You will visit a stonemason who still works these cross stones today. The day ends in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.

      First you will visit the sun temple of Garni and experience how the traditional flat bread "Lawasch" is prepared. Then you will visit the monastery of Geghard, located in a rocky gorge.

      During the sightseeing tour you will see, among others, the "Cascade", the monumental Republic Square, the Opera House, the Blue Mosque and the Cathedral. Very interesting is also the visit to Matendaran, the central archive of ancient Armenian manuscripts.

  • Day 14 Day 14: Yerevan - Khor Virap - Noravank - Yerevan

      Day 14: Yerevan - Khor Virap - Noravank - Yerevan

      Drive to the monastery of Khor Virap, located near the Armenian-Turkish border directly on the biblical Ararat. In the village of Khor Virap you will visit a local family and their wine cellar, where you will of course taste the homemade wine. Afterwards visit of Hin Areni cave, where once the oldest shoe was discovered. After that, the visit to the monastery of Noravank is still on the program. At the mausoleum church you will see a detailed elaborated figure of God, the only representation of this kind in Armenia. Return to Yerevan.

      Day 15: Excursion Echmiadzin &Amp; Zwartnots

      After breakfast you will drive to the center of Armenian Apostolic Church near Echmiadzin. The tour will visit Echmiadzin - St. Gayane and St. Hripsine churches - Sunday service will be held there. On the way back stop at the ruins of the palace church of Swartnots. Upon arrival in Yerevan, there will be another visit to the monument/museum to the victims of the 1915 genocide. A final stop at the brandy distillery, where you will take a tour of the warehouses and then enjoy a sample of the good drop.

      In the early morning transfer to the airport and return flight to Frankfurt.
