      Suggestions of activities: We suggest visit the beautiful roman bridge. Enjoy this itinerary until the end, and at the end you can see from the street the Sรฃo Joรฃo da Barra Fort.

      The Bridge, once crossed by cars and people, was partially destroyed again by a flood on the 3rd of December 1989, and restored some time later, but now just pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles are allowed. Tavira always managed to maintain its original appearance and yet, evolve in time.

      Suggestions of activities: We suggest visit Tavira Castle on the top of the Old Town. Isnโ€™t known when the first castle at this site was built but sources say a fortress was already being rebuilt by the Phoenicians in the 8th century BC. The Castle probably dates back to the 11th century. Tavira Castle was a small and rectangular. It now consists of remains of two square towers, one octagonal tower and walls on three sides. NULL of the towers nowadays possess the characteristics of a keep but there surely had been one. The interior is used as a small garden. You can have a unique view from the walls and towers, of Tavira until the sea. The castle can be visited, for free, during the daytime. Around the old town you can find several parts of towers and walls of the old medieval city walls, but are not open for visit.

      Suggestions of activities: We suggest visit โ€œ4 รguasโ€ from the Hotel until โ€œ4 รguasโ€ you have a walking path between the salt bans where you can see workers taken out the Salt from the reservoirs.

      On the end of the walk you reach the Tavira pear where you can see a Intersection of waters that come from the hills and mixed in to the river and go to the Ocean.

      We do suggest to have a drink at the end and enjoy the view. (Very good if you enjoy at the end of the day the sunset).

      Suggestions of activities: We suggest visit to the Ria Formosa tour and Lunch in Tavira Island. Departure at 10h45 from Tavira pear from Sรฉqua Tours Stand area. Visit the natural Park Ria Formosa by boat and afterwords go to the Island where you can have a delicious Regional Lunch in Sal Restaurant and lounge, in the end of the afternoon collect the boat and enjoy your way back to Town in the River Gilรฃo. (Fees apply and we suggest to pre-book at least 2 days before).

      Suggestions of activities: We do suggest a visit to the Islamic Museum and Municipal Museum in Tavira old Town. Get the Combi Museum Tickets on one of the museums and enjoy both for a special rate (entrance fees apply).

      The Islamic Centre hosts a vast and diverse archaeological collection from the Islamic period from interventions at various sites in Tavira.

      The Municipal Museum (also called Palacio da Galeria) after rehabilitation works. It hosts exhibitions that deal with the history and diversity of the county heritage, while taking into account the new artistic expressions of contemporary times.

      Suggestions of activities: Free day to visit the Tavira Island, you can get the boat in Tavira docks and have a relaxing boat ride until the island where you can see the beach and local fauna (fees apply).

      Suggestions of activities: We suggest visiting the 3 Main churches in Tavira, Mercy, Saint Mary & Clock Tower and Santiagoโ€™s Church.

      Mercy Church, Renaissance style, is constituted by three ships, without Chapel-Mor. The ceiling is supported by eight columns finished by Renaissance capitals and its dรฉcor features a set of blue and white azulejo panels from the 18th century that show the 18 Works of Mercy (Spiritual Works, Bodyworks and Christ Life).

      Saint Maryโ€™s Church, is still the Gothic original, with four archivolts in broken arch and respective vegetal capitals, dating from a campaign of works of end of century XIV or beginnings of century XV.

      Santiagoโ€™s Church, dated from the end of the XIII century, is devoted to Santiago Maior. It was donated by D. Afonso III to Silves Bishop in 1270, having belonged to the Military Order of Santiago de Espada.

      Free day to visit the Fishing village of Santa Luzia, you can get the bus from the bus station (please check the bus times) until Santa Luzia, you can enjoy a walk from Santa Luzia until Barril Beach, in Barril beach you can visit the โ€œAnchor Cemeteryโ€ located in Barril beach, its origin dates back to 1842, it is possible to contemplate, along the sand, an "anchor cemetery" that still lasts in the area.

      Suggestions of activities: We suggest to visit the ruins of the Forte de Santo Antonio de Tavira is a walk along the salt bands in the natural park and you can view the ruins of the fort and the water intersection from Rio Gilรฃo and Ria Formosa.

      On your way back you can go directly back or visit the area of the salt bands where they collect the salt
