Day 2-3: Welcome To The "Heart Of Asia

Even the approach over the capital Taipei is impressive. After a short rest at the hotel, we take some time to explore the Chiang Kaishek Memorial Hall and the National Theater. A stroll through the streets and dinner together round off this first day in the "heart of Asia", as Taiwan is also known. Please note: Hotel check-in in Taipei is usually possible from 3 pm. If you arrive earlier, we can arrange an early check-in for you, which may incur additional costs. On the following day, we will first head outside Taipei to the National Palace Museum, which houses the worldโ€™s largest collection of Chinese artifacts. Back in the city, we take the worldโ€™s fastest elevator to the 89th floor of Taipei 101. After such exciting events, itโ€™s time for some rest and reflection at the Buddhist Longshan Temple. Not far away, we marvel at the bizarre food at the snake market. (1xF/-/1xA)

Day 4-5: Taiwan From Train Perspective &Amp; Hiking In Taroko Gorge

From Taipei, we travel by train through the mountains and along the coast. We reach the beautiful Taroko Gorge. With its huge marble walls, waterfalls, suspension bridges and fantastic views, it is one of Asiaโ€™s natural wonders. Today and tomorrow we hike partly in small side gorges and enjoy the elements of nature. The time we spend here also helps us mentally to really arrive in the "Far East". Cozy dinner. Two nights in a simple, family-run guesthouse on the edge of the gorge. Please note: There are a total of 5 rooms available for our group, which means that single or double occupancy cannot be guaranteed for large groups. The hikes in the gorge are discussed and selected together depending on the weather conditions, route situation and the groupโ€™s condition. (2xF/-/2xA)

  • Day 4 Day 6-7: Rural Taiwan &Amp; East Coast By Bike
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 6-7: Rural Taiwan &Amp; East Coast By Bike

We start the first stage of our cycle tour just outside the hustle and bustle of the city, between Hualien and Guangfu. Today we stay inland on a beautiful asphalted side route along the mountain range. We cycle through small villages with churches and temples, and past rice fields and pineapple plantations. It becomes more tropical. Shortly after Yuli we reach our Hotspring Resort, where we can relax and round off the day (approx. 60 km). Strengthened by a good breakfast, we cycle our second stage over the mountain range. Note: This part can also be done sitting in our bus. We reach the east coast of Taiwan and always cycle south with a view of the sea. We can take advantage of idyllic stops to stroll around. Our bus is already waiting near Chenggong with all our luggage and a change of clothes (approx. 50 km). Back on four wheels, we travel via Taitung to Kenting in the southern tip of the island. Arrival at our guesthouse later in the evening. Note on our cycle tours: The distances are approximate and can vary depending on the fitness of the group. We cycle through flat and undulating terrain with gentle climbs. Depending on availability, we use good touring bikes with Giant gears. Each bike has a small bag for cell phone, wallet etc. A vehicle accompanies us and carries all our luggage. (2xF/1xM/1xA)

  • Day 5 Day 8-9: Enjoy The Tropics In Kenting
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 8-9: Enjoy The Tropics In Kenting

A short drive takes us to Nanrenshan National Park. In addition to the tropical flora, we can also spot monkeys, various bird species and colorful butterflies here. The "Lake of the Southern People" offers fantastic views of the surrounding landscape. A subsequent detour to one of the numerous sandy beaches rounds off this excursion wonderfully. Back at our accommodation, there is still time for your own activities. In any case, enjoy an "Asian sundowner", perhaps with fresh and tasty seafood for dinner. You will receive tips from your tour guide on the following day, which can also be used for individual interests. Practice snorkeling or diving, hire a bike or go for a walk in Kenting National Park. In the late afternoon, we say goodbye to Kenting and set off for Tainan. Arrival in the evening, check-in for 2 nights at the hotel and dinner together. (2xF/1xM/1xA)

  • Day 6 Day 10: Tainan: The City Of Temples
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 10: Tainan: The City Of Temples

We have a whole day at our disposal to get to know this great city with its Mediterranean flair. We take time for exciting sightseeing: including the Temple of Confucius & Temple of the Queen of Heaven, Chikan Tower, the former seat of the Dutch on Taiwan. Afterwards, stroll through the streets individually or continue your discovery tour with your tour guide. In the evening, it is definitely worth looking out for delicacies at the night market. • Day 7 Day 11-12: Tea Culture &Amp; Taiwanโ€™S Mountain World At Alishan
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 11-12: Tea Culture &Amp; Taiwanโ€™S Mountain World At Alishan

Leaving the hustle and bustle of the city behind us, we head into the fascinating mountain region around the Alishan. We first move into our guesthouse in a tea plantation. After a welcome hot drink, we set off to explore the surrounding tea mountains and bamboo forests on foot. During an informative stop at a tea factory, we learn about the processing and production of different types of tea in a very authentic way. Sunset at the guesthouse, completing your travel diary and a good nightโ€™s sleep... The early bird catches the worm and so we set off early the next morning. Our bus takes us up to Mount Alishan, where we are treated to an incredibly beautiful sunrise. Breathe in the fresh mountain air and enjoy the lush green of nature. We then hike in this fantastic mountain region. Together with your guide, you choose one of the many fascinating routes. A popular, but also much frequented route is, for example, the national parkโ€™s Giant Tree Trail. It leads past cypress trees up to 2000 years old with remarkable tree formations and lovingly laid out gardens. Overnight stay as on the previous day. (2xF/1xM/1xA)

    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 13-14: Sun Moon Lake &Amp; Miaoli, Monastery Overnight

With a nice stopover at the famous Sun Moon Lake, the largest inland body of water in Taiwan, we drive to the Miaoli region. Our destination is Shitoushan, which means "Lionโ€™s Head Mountain". There are numerous Buddhist and Daoist temples here, the oldest buildings dating back to 1892. Small meditation caves adorn the paths through the dense forest. We spend the night in the guesthouse of the monastery complex (2-bed room), have a vegetarian dinner there and can explore the surrounding area individually or together. A perfect place to start the journey home feeling refreshed and with lots of impressions in our luggage. We depart from here in the afternoon of day 14 and travel to Taipei airport with a few stops along the way. Return flight. Note: Depending on the flight schedule, stay or additional night in Taipei.
