      Day 1: Sofia

      Arrive in Sofia and transfer to your hotel. Day at leisure. This evening, enjoy a welcome dinner with folklore show program Overnight in Sofia.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Sofia

      Day 2: Sofia

      In the morning, enjoy a city tour of Sofia including visits to the National History Museum where the gold and silver Thracian treasures are displayed. Highlights of the city tour include the Alexander Nevski Cathedral and Crypt. Balance of the day at leisure. Overnight in Sofia.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Nis / Belgrade

      Day 3: Nis / Belgrade

      This will be a long and rewarding touring day. After breakfast, depart Bulgaria to cross the border into Serbia. Stop for lunch in Nis, the third largest city in Serbia and enjoy an orientation tour upon arrival. Continue on to Belgrade. Arriving in the late afternoon. Enjoy dinner with local live music in a typical national restaurant in the old bohemian quarter of Skadarlija Overnight in Belgrade.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Belgrade

      Day 4: Belgrade

      Morning sightseeing tour to view Belgradeโ€™s main attractions including a visit to the imposing Kalemegdan Fortress, dramatically situated above the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers. Continue the tour and view/photo-stop at the Republic Square and Knez Mihajlova street, the Saint Sava Temple (the largest Orthodox Church in the city) as well as Titoโ€™s Memorial. Overnight in Belgrade.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Novi Sad / Timisoara

      Day 5: Novi Sad / Timisoara

      After breakfast, depart for Romania. Before leaving Serbia, stop in Novi Sad, the capital of the Northern Serbian province of Vojvodina and the countryโ€™s second largest city. A walking tour upon arrival highlights the major sights of this city including the Petrovaradin Fortress, the Liberty Square, the Cathedral, city council, Zmaj Jovina and Dunavaska Street. Then continue to Timisoara the city where the Romanian revolution started in 1989 against Chaushesku. Upon arrival, view the ruins of the Timisoara Fortress, Hunaidy Castles, Pashaโ€™s Wheel, the Fabric residential areas and the Corso shopping area before arriving at the hotel in the evening. Overnight in Timisoara.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Sibiu

      Day 6: Sibiu

      After breakfast depart Timisoara for Sibiu. Stop in Hunedoara to visit the fortress that became the castle of one of the most preeminent kings of the medieval times, Matthias Corvinus. The castle is particularly interesting due to its different construction styles from being converted from a military structure to an inhabited castle. Arrive to Sibiu in the late afternoon. Overnight in Sibiu.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Sibiu / Sighisoara / Brasov

      Day 7: Sibiu / Sighisoara / Brasov

      After breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Sibiu, once considered the richest town in Transylvania. View the Huet Square, the Large Square, The Evangelical Cathedral, the Liarโ€™s Bridge and other sites. 10:00am Continue towards Sighisoara, the best preserved medieval city in South-Eastern Europe. Short orientation tour upon arrival in Sighisoara. Then head south to Brasov for a walking tour of the city including a visit of the First Romanian School, featuring an impressive collection of rare books. Overnight in Brasov.

  • Day 8 Day 8: Bran / Sinaia / Bucharest

      Day 8: Bran / Sinaia / Bucharest

      Following breakfast, depart to Brasov and travel south to visit Bran Castle, also commonly known as "Draculaโ€™s Castle" and made famous by Bram Stokerโ€™s novel as the residence of the vampire Count Dracula. Continue to Bucharest and stop at Peles Castle, built as the summer home of King Carol I. Afterwards continue to Sinaia Monastery, founded in the 17th century and named after the great Sinai Monastery on Mount Sinai. Continue to Bucharest for overnight.

      This morning get acquainted with the Romanian capital once nicknamed "Little Paris". Tour includes a visit of the Parliament Palace, the second largest building in the world after the US Pentagon and the worldโ€™s largest civilian administrative building. See the Romanian Athenaeum, the Opera House, the National Military Club, the Military Academy, the Triumphal Arch and visit the Village Museum. Overnight in Bucharest.
