  • Day 1 Day 1: San Josรฉ - Crocodile Boat Tour - Quepos/Manuel Antonio

      Day 1: San Josรฉ - Crocodile Boat Tour - Quepos/Manuel Antonio

      The trip begins with a drive through picturesque landscapes past Atenas and Orotina to the Tรกrcoles River. On the boat ride together with other guests you will observe the American alligators of all sizes at close range. In the dense mangrove forests of Guacalillo you will also see many beautiful, exotic birds as well as other jungle animals such as basilisks, monkeys and iguanas. Afterwards you will enjoy a typical lunch in an open restaurant. Finally, the journey continues past Jacรณ to Quepos. In the afternoon you will have time to do something on your own and observe the plants, birds, butterflies and monkeys.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Manuel Antonio National Park And Beaches

      Day 2: Manuel Antonio National Park And Beaches

      Today you will visit Manuel Antonio National Park. Although Manuel Antonio is one of the smallest parks in Costa Rica, it is one of the most famous destinations for both tourists and locals. The park protects a 1,624-hectare rainforest area and some very beautiful riparian beaches. On the trails inside the park you will be able to observe birds and other animals. You are likely to come across a Central American squirrel monkey here and there, whose habitat is highly endangered. This shy monkey species is found in only two places left in Costa Rica, one being Manuel Antonio and the other being Corcovado National Park a little further south. After the jungle walk, you will have free time to really enjoy the beautiful beaches within the park.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Quepos - Municipality Of San Luis - Monteverde

      Day 3: Quepos - Municipality Of San Luis - Monteverde

      After breakfast, the drive continues north past Jacรณ. At the small village of Sardinal you will then turn off the Panamerican Highway and after about 30 somewhat bumpy kilometers you will reach the community of San Luis, where you will meet Gilbert and his family. The locals will be happy to tell you about their life in the village and give you a tour of the farm. You will learn the history of the sustainably managed Finca La Bella and see how the cultivation of coffee, fruit trees, bananas and various vegetables allows the farming family to feed themselves and market their products. Be shown how sugar cane is pressed and enjoy the sweet juice. Afterwards, continue to the enchanting cloud forest area of Monteverde. The village of Santa Elena is located 1โ€™400 meters above sea level. There you will relax in the fresh mountain air. Towards evening you have the possibility to participate in an optional night tour with a local guide. Snakes, tarantulas, toucans and scorpions are just some of the animals you can discover in the cone of light of the flashlight.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Monteverde

      Day 4: Monteverde

      Early in the morning you will take a walk in a nature reserve, whose misty evergreen mountain forest will enchant you. The trees are covered with moss, ferns and orchids and are the natural habitat for more than 250 species of birds, many of which you will surely be able to observe. If you are very lucky, you may even get to see a quetzal, a shy and colorful bird that was considered sacred by the Mayans and other indigenous people. Afterwards, another attraction is on the program: On suspension bridges you will walk through the treetops of the cloud forest and get to know the jungle from a completely different perspective. Your experienced guide will tell you all about the interesting ecosystems that make life up here possible and worth living. All bridges are easy to walk on.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Monteverde - Rincรณn De La Vieja National Park

      Day 5: Monteverde - Rincรณn De La Vieja National Park

      Today you will return to the Panamerican Highway and then head north to the Gulf of Nicoya and the driest province in the country, Guanacaste. Via the town of Liberia, the journey continues to the area of the active Rincรณn de la Vieja volcano. The last kilometers are a bit bumpy again, but you will arrive safely at the Rincรณn de la Vieja National Park. On the 5 km long "Las Pailas" trail you can enjoy the best view of the active Rincรณn de la Vieja volcano without having to climb up to the crater. You will find a variety of native trees and plants, among others the national tree "Guanacaste", the bitter cedar, the laurel tree and the white gum tree grow here. The national park is home to many species of mammals and birds. If you are lucky, you will see raccoons, coatis, armadillos and several species of monkeys, as well as the blue-crowned motmot and the leek aracari. You will also encounter bubbling mud holes, small waterfalls, fumaroles, hot springs and the "volcancito" (small volcano) during the hike.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Rincรณn De La Vieja

      Day 6: Rincรณn De La Vieja

      Today you will take a short hike with your guide to one of the waterfalls at Hacienda Guachipelรญn. You will also visit the hotelโ€™s own thermal springs as a group. In addition, you will have the opportunity for other optional tours. Your tour guide will be happy to plan the day with you according to your special wishes and interests.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Rincรณn De La Vieja - San Josรฉ

      Day 7: Rincรณn De La Vieja - San Josรฉ

      We leave Rincรณn de la Vieja around 08:00. The tour ends with the return trip to San Josรฉ. We will drop you off at the hotel of your choice in the center of San Josรฉ. It is recommended to book the international departure flight only the following day.
