Day 1: Day 01 โ€“ Airport / Negombo

Pass By: Negombo, Negombo, Western Province
Approximately 37 km north of Colombo at the mouth of the Negombo lagoon. The economy of this town is based on tourism and its centuries-old fishing industry. The name Negombo was first used by the Portuguese and was a trading port during the Portuguese and Dutch colonization. Negombo offers some of the best beaches on the West coast of Sri Lanka and draws tourists who stop over on their way to or from the airport

Day 2: Day 02 โ€“ Negombo / Wilpathtu

Pass By: Negombo Lagoon, Negombo Sri Lanka
The Negombo Lagoon has an area of 3164 hectares and is part of a much larger Muthurajawela Marsh โ€“ Negombo Lagoon coastal wetland. The fishermen of the Negombo lagoon live in object poverty in small, thatch palm villages on the water's edge. For generations the lagoon has provided the fishermen with a plentiful supply of crabs, shrimp and many of the native species of fish.

The Dutch Canal was the supply route to the Dutch Administration, old Churches and fishing villages. The 100 km long Canal running through the town is still used and is an attraction for those who want to see the country from a different perspective.

Day 3: Wilpattu National Park

Wilpattu National Park (Willu-pattu; Land of Lakes) is a park located on the island of Sri Lanka. The unique feature of this park is the existence of "Willus" (Natural lakes) - Natural, sand-rimmed water basins or depressions that fill with rainwater. Located in the Northwest coast lowland dry zone of Sri Lanka. The park is located 30 km west Anuradhapura and located 26 km north of Puttalam (approximately 180 km north of Colombo). The park is 131, 693 hectares and ranges from 0 to 152 meters above sea level. Nearly sixty lakes (Willu) and tanks are found spread throughout Wilpattu. Wilpattu is the largest and one of the oldest National Parks in Sri Lanka. Wilpattu is among the top national parks world-renowned for its leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya) population. The leopard population in Wilpattu is not known.

Day 4: Wilpattu / Habarana

Habarana - the central point of Sri Lanka's Cultural Triangle and the most convenient base for excursions to the Ancient historical cities, Anuradhapura 60 minutes, Polonnaruwa 45 minutes, Sigiriya/Dambulla 30 minutes, Ritigala 15 minutes and Minneriya/Kaudulla National Parks (site of the renowned ''Gathering'' of over 250 Elephant between June to September) 15 minutes

Day 5: Sigiriya / Minneriya National Park

Sigiriya

Climb the 5th century Sigriya Rock Fortress โ€“ which is a UNESCO ''World Heritage Site'', built by 'King Kashyapa (477-495 AD)'. The ''Lion Rock'' is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 meters from the green scrub jungle, Its perhaps the most memorable place for visitors to Sri Lanka. The site was known from ancient times as a hermitage for Buddhist monks. A well planned monastic complex includes caved temples, bathing pools, lovely ponds and Asia's oldest surviving landscaped gardens. Today Sigiriya is famous for its ''Frescos Painted'' in the pocket of the rock. The ''Lion Stairwayโ€™โ€™, the ''Mirror Wall'' and the ''Water Gardens'' are the other highlights of Sigiriya. (Approximately 02 โ€“ 03 hours Up and Down)

Kaudulla National Park

Kaudulla National Park is around the ancient Kaudulla tank and provides a 6656 hectare elephant corridor, only 6 km from the main Habarana-Trincomalee road. Herds of Elephants up to 250 could be seen mainly in the month of October.

Minneriya National Park

Minneriya National Park is located at the center of the Cultural Triangle. The dry season from June to September is best time to visit the 8890 hectare park when the ancient tank dries out. During this time it is possible to see herds of up to 150 elephants feeding and bathing. Minneriya closest by car to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa, was upgraded from a Natural Reserve to a National Park because of the increased number of tourists arriving to see the elephants

Day 6: Habarana / Wagamuwa National Park / Habarana

Wasgamuwa National Park is a natural park in Sri Lanka situated in the Matale and Polonnaruwa Districts . It was declared to protect and to make a refuge for the displaced wild animals during the Mahaweli Development Project in 1984 and is one of the four National Parks designated under the Project. Originally it was designated as a nature reserve in 1938, and then in the early 1970s the area was regraded as a strict nature reserve. Wasgamuwa is one of protected areas where Sri Lankan Elephants can be seen in large herds. It is also one of the Important Bird Areas in Sri Lanka. The name of the Wasgamuwa has derived through the words "Walas Gamuwa". "Walasa" is Sinhala for sloth bear and "Gamuwa" means a wood. The park is situated 225 km away from Colombo

Day 7: Habarana / Kandy

Kandyan Culture Show

Witness the Kandyan Dance a pageant of traditional Sri Lankan dance that flourished in the hill country during ancient times. The dancers are attired in frilled costumes with glistening head-dresses and breastplates. They skip and whirl to the beat of the drums executing astonishing acrobatics in mid-air. The highlight of the performance is the fire-walking at the end of the pageant.

Temple of the Tooth (Dalada Maligawa)

Visit the ''DaladaMaligawa'' โ€“ where the sacred Tooth Relic is placed and preserved is undoubtedly the greatest attraction of the city. It is one of the most sacred places for Buddhists all over the world. Watch the traditional rituals performed daily by the religious dignitaries of the temple in keeping with the cultural heritage of county.
Next you will visit the ''Raja Wasala'' โ€“ the Royal Palace complex adjoining the Temple of Tooth where the Council Chamber known as the ''MagulMaduwa'' is seen. This is a unique wooden pillared hall dating back to 1784 and the Devale complexes are housed inside.

Kandy Lake and City walk

Walk around the Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhala king Sri WickramaRajasinghe in 1798. Visit the market areas and day to day life

Day 8: Kandy / Nuwaraeliya

Day 9: Nuwaraeliya / Horton Plains National Park / Udawalawe

Around 06:00 hrs after bed tea and geared with picnic breakfast leave for HORTION PLAINS NATIONAL PARK. This park covers an extent of 3162 hectares and 7200 ft above sea level. An hour's drive from Nuwara Eliya will bring you it these Plains which is the only one that could be toured by foot. Endemic Sender Loris and purple monkey are among the important animal species in addition to Sambhur and the occasional Leopard. This park is a habitat for a large number of endemic birds and butterflies.

Trek to Worldโ€™s End vertical drop of 1312 meters and the Bakers Falls is an experience. From here you could see the surrounding hills and the mountain ranges. The best period to visit is during the months of April to August

Day 10: Udawalawe National Park / Yala

Udawalawe National Park โ€“ Morning Safari

Visit Udawalawe National Park by safari jeep and that which lies on the boundary of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces in Sri Lanka. The reason for creating the National Park was to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the construction of the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River. The reserve covers 30,821 hectares of land area and was established on 30th June 1972. Before the designation of the National Park, the area was gradually ones the National Park was declared. The park is 165 km from Colombo and is an important habitat for water birds and Sri Lankan Elephants.

Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home

Visit the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home which is a refuge for baby elephants, the majority of which have been affected by the tragic elephant โ€“ human conflict (when mothers are often separated from their young or even killed). This incredible project provides food, medical care, and anything else a baby elephant needs. When the elephants are big and strong enough, they are released back into the wilderness to start living a 'normal' elephant life. Easily accessible from Udawalawe National Park itself, visitors can go to the Elephant Transit Center at specific times in the day to enjoy the feeding hour, when the small elephants rush to drink milk and play with their mates. Like any other babies, elephants like showing off, especially when spectators are around so the event can become a great source of entertainment.

If you could reach the transit home by 09:00 hrs you will be in time to see the baby elephant being bottle-fed.

Day 11: Yala National Park

Yala National Park โ€“ Full Day Safari

Yala National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka. The park consists of five blocks, two of which are now open to the public, and also adjoining parks. The blocks have individual names such as, Ruhuna National Park (block 1) and Kumana National Park or 'Yala East' for the adjoining area. It is situated in the southeast region of the country, and lies in Southern Province and Uva Province. The park covers 979 square kilometres (378 sq mi) and is located about 300 kilometres (190 mi) from Colombo. Yala was designated as a wildlife sanctuary in 1900, and, along with Wilpattu was one of the first two national parks in Sri Lanka, having been designated in 1938. The park is best known for its variety of wild animals. It is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan leopards and aquatic birds.

Bundala National Park โ€“ Morning Safari

Bundala National Park is an internationally important wintering ground for migratory water birds in Sri Lanka. Bundala harbors 197 species of birds, the highlight being the greater flamingo, which migrate in large flocks. Bundala was designated a wildlife sanctuary in 1969 and redesignated to a national park on 4 January 1993.In 1991 Bundala became the first wetland to be declared as a Ramsar site in Sri Lanka. In 2005 the national park was designated as a biosphere reserve by UNESCO, the fourth biosphere reserve in Sri Lanka.The national park is situated 245 kilometres (152 mi) southeast of Colombo.

Day 14: Wales watching / Galle Dutch Fort / Mirissa

Morning (approximately 6.30 a.m) should start whales watching from the Mirissa Harbour. Please inform to hotel arrange packet breakfast. And also we should leave from the hotel early morning.

The BBC documentary titled โ€œOcean Giantsโ€ featuring the mesmeric world of Whales and Dolphins, and the scientistโ€™s effort to shed light on their habits and why they grow so large were filmed around Sri Lanka and according to them 30 Blue Whales were sighted in a single day!
There is a 95% chance of spotting Blue Whales and great chances of Sperm Whales spottingas as their migration path from Africa to Australia is just off Dondra Point. We are able to arrange Whale Watching Trips off Mirissa in a fully insured trawler boat which will last for 3 hours. There is a good chance of spotting Spinner Dolphins off Mirissa.

Galle

Galle was the center of the Dutch regime in the 17th century and the majestic Galle Fort bears testimony to this fact. The City of Galle is one of the well preserved colonial-era cities in Southeast Asia and has been declared a '' World Heritage City ''. The Dutch Museum, Groote Kerk (Great Church) and the National Maritime Museum are two famous tourist attractions in Galle. International Cricket Stadium has also contributed to enhance the image of the city as a sports destination
