Accommodation

Please note that the images are only a fe examples of the accommodation that can be used, but we avoid chain hotels, opting for accommodation that would be used by a froup of Finnish snowmobilers on their regular snowmobiling trips sauna located in the wilderness and always great possibilities to see the Northern lights without light pollution of the city

Transport

transfer from/to all major Rovaniemi hotels to the starting point of the safari please note that Arctic Snow Hotel is not included as a pick-up location at this point alternatively, transfer from train station or airport to the start point of the safari return transfer after the conclusion of the expedition back to all major hotels within the Rovaniemi area

Meals

Full board (2 breakfast, 3 lunch and 2 dinners) All meals provided are planned so that they sustain the tempo of the expedition Please notify us in advance if you have specific dietary requirements

Guide

Professional guiding in English Local guides with extensive experience in snowmobiling and expeditions Briefing and teaching how to ride a snowmobile throughout the expedition All our expeditons have safety features such as InReach Garmin, by which we can communicate at any time there would be any problems (as the expeditions sometimes ride throughout areas that have no phone signal) as well as first aid training, avalanche training etc.

Insurance

All our snowmobiles and participants are insured for 3rd party accidents and bodily injuries In the unlikely event of a damaged to the snowmobile by the participant, a self-liability is a flat amount of 900 EUR which will be covered upon returning from the expedition to the safari center

Flights

International flights are not included We advise that the guests would add a pre-night so they are well rested before the expedition begins, but some of our guests preffer to arrive on the morning of the expedition start

Others

Recommended stay in Rovaniemi before and after the tour Travel insurance (we recommend travel insurance which specifically covers snowmobiling activities) We recommend thermal underwear, extra winter clothing and to switch from glasses to eye lenses to make it easier to use a helmet

If you wish to add pre- or post-night and activities such as reindeers, huskies or ice fishing, it can be agreed seperately with the Wild Nordic sales representative Additional requests such as adjustment of steering wheel or wishes based on previous experiences from motocycle, enduro biking, snow motocycle or snowmobiling can also be addressed to Wild Nordic sales representatives and we will do our best to realize those

  • Day 1 Day 1: Driving Finnish Tracks (Daily Distance ~120 Km)

      Day 1: Driving Finnish Tracks (Daily Distance ~120 Km)

      We will pick you up in the morning from your hotel or alternatively airport or train station in Rovaniemi. Preparations start immediately, with each guest getting professional thermal snowmobiling outfits (trousers, jacket, woollen socks, boots, scarf, commando hat/balaclava and gloves), driving equipment and a waterproof box for your personal supplies needed during the tour. The box will be attached to your snowmobile as the rest of your luggage will be kept in Rovaniemi in luggage storage. Wild Nordic has the best riding gear for expeditions in Europe and we focus on safety heavily, providing detailed brefing of the track, weather conditions and driving instructions before departing to the wilderness. 

      The first day is intended as introduction day, giving everyone a chance to get used to their snowmobile and testing their ability through a full day of snowmobiling. Lunch will be provided on the way and the guide will make sure that everyone in the small group is enjoying the ride. In the afternoon, we will arrive to the local accommodation and have time to relax with sauna and delicious home-style dinner (3-courses). We always avoid choosing chain hotels, opting for local accommodation with great location, where there would be a chance to see Northern Lights. 

  • Day 2 Day 2: Riding Between Finland And Sweden (Daily Distance ~150 Km)

      Day 2: Riding Between Finland And Sweden (Daily Distance ~150 Km)

      After you enjoy delicious breakfast, it is time to put on the snowmbiling gear and stretch the riding muslces. A full day sos snowmobiling is ahead, with some elements of deep snow, if possible due to time and weather constraints. We will ride part of the trip on the territory of Sweden, which means more freedome in deep snow training, which is fun and tiring. Lunch will be provided to keep the strenght up and we will return to the Finnish hard tracks by the evening, stopping at a different local accommodation than the first night - with time to heal the muscle ache in the sauna and enjoy some rustic dinner (3-courses). 

  • Day 3 Day 3: Thrill Of The Ride (Daily Distance ~180 Km)

      Day 3: Thrill Of The Ride (Daily Distance ~180 Km)

      The third day will test all the newly acquired driving skills and after early breakfast, we will start returning back to Rovaniemi on nice trails. The lunch will be a campfire lunch, to celebrate the last day in traditional style, with delicious food smoked on the fireplace (in case of bad weather or other obsticles, we reseve the right to rovide lunch indoors). After a full day of snowmobiling, you will return to the starting point of the expedition and be awarded the Great Adventure Certificate by your guide, marking that you officially sucessfully completed an Arctic Expedition. After you change to your winter clothing and say goodbye to the guide, you will be taken to your hotel within the Rovaniemi city area or alteratively agreed location).
