      Passengers are welcome to board our ship at 6 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, we’ll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail. Join us for dinner and an evening of entertainment.   

  • Day 2 Day 2: Luxembourg(1) - Saarburg

      Day 2: Luxembourg(1) - Saarburg

      This morning: Join us for a guided tour of Luxembourg city. We’ll leave from Remich for Luxembourg by coach. The multicultural city of Luxembourg is the capital of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the seat of several European institutions. The fortifications and pastel facades in the old town contrast remarkably against the new, high-tech constructions dotting the city. After our tour, we'll return to the ship in Remich.This afternoon:Hikers: Trek along the national “Sentier de la Moselle” path. The trail winds through the city’s old streets and climbs the national “Sentier de la Moselle” path up to the vineyards. When you reach Goldberg, you’ll continue on to the summit and return to Remich by walking above the vineyards.  After crossing the forest, you’ll descend back to the Moselle River. You’ll finish up your hike with a tasting. (Approximately 4 hours, 6.2 mi./10 km, 656 ft./200 m elevation gain).Non-hikers: We'll visit a winery and enjoy a tasting. We’ll discover the secrets to winemaking while strolling through the underground passages that seem to go on for miles. After our tour, we’ll go to the historical center of Remich where you can enjoy some free time on your own. Take a stroll along the several miles of promenade in the shade of the trees along the Moselle or sit back on a cozy terrace for some more wine.After we return on board, the ship will begin to cruise to Saarburg, arriving in the late evening. 

  • Day 3 Day 3: Saarburg - Trier

      Day 3: Saarburg - Trier

      We’ll spend the morning cruising, leaving the Sarre behind us. We’ll travel on the Moselle River, reaching Trier at the end of the morning. This afternoon: Hikers: Urban hike in Trier. We’ll set out on foot for the center of Trier. See the major city sites in Trier on foot, including the Porta Nigra Roman city gate, the Constantine Basilica, the Roman amphitheater, the ruins of the Imperial Baths, the Trier Cathedral, and Petrisberg, where you’ll have a magnificent view of Germany’s oldest city. Discover the history of the ancient Roman stronghold and the gorgeous countryside that surrounds it. (Approximately 3 hours, 5.6 mi./9 km, no elevation gain). Non-hikers: Guided tour of Trier. We’ll leave on foot to the historical center of Trier, Germany’s oldest city. Trier is jam packed with ruins spanning over a thousand years. Learn about the Roman, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque works and sites on this tour. After we return on board, our ship will begin to cruise to Cochem. Our ship will cruise through the night. Enjoy an evening of entertainment on board.   

  • Day 4 Day 4: Cochem

      Day 4: Cochem

      We’ll arrive in Cochem early in the morning. Hikers: Walk the Appoloweg trail. Set out on the Appoloweg trail, where you’ll bask in the picturesque landscapes and countrysides along the Moselle River. We’ll encounter gorgeous views and enchanting castles in the middle of a wild natural reserve. The castle in Cochem, known as Reichsburg, sits on a mighty crag over the Moselle River and overlooks the centuries-old vineyard below. (Approximately 3 hours, 4.3 mi./7 km, 1,148 ft./350 m elevation gain). Non-hikers: Guided tour of Cochem Castle. You’ll be transferred to Reichsburg Castle on a mini-bus. Reichsburg Castle is almost 900 years old and has a fascinating story to tell. It changed hands many times over the centuries and was even used twice to pay off debts. After a visit of the castle, enjoy some free time in the city. Take a stroll through the narrow, winding streets and enjoy the ambiance full of lovely half-timbered homes with slate roofs, the historic square near the town hall, and the ancient walls, gates, and churches. We’ll return on board on foot. We’ll spend the afternoon cruising the Moselle River, one of the most beautiful tributaries of the Rhine, towards Koblenz. Enjoy the calm as we pass by charming villages, vineyards, and what seems like a castle on every peak. We’ll arrive at the end of the afternoon. Once we arrive, explore Koblenz with our host or hostess. Surrounded by several mountains, Koblenz is a rich mosaic of culture and history. The city is over 2,000 years old and offers visitors a glimpse of its deep history through its monuments. After our excursion, we’ll return on board the ship. The rest of the evening is yours to do as you please.   

  • Day 5 Day 5: Koblenz - Rรผdesheim(3)

      This morning, we’ll pass through the beautiful and romantic Rhine Valley. The fascinating Rhine River has been the muse for many legends, including the rock of the Lorelei. Each twist and turn of the river reveal another castle atop a peak above the sprawling vineyards. Our ship will arrive in Rüdesheim by late morning. This afternoon:Hikers: Hiking near the Eberbach Monastery. This hike along the foothills of the Taunus Mountains will bring us to the impressive Eberbach Monastery, which served as the backdrop for the film The Name of the Rose. Enjoy a guided tour of the monastery, followed by a tasting of some Rhine Valley wines. (Approx. 2.75 hours, 5 miles (8 km), 820-foot elevation gain (250 m)).Non-hikers: Rüdesheim. First, we'll enjoy a guided tour of the local vineyards on a tourist train. We’ll then head to a historic wine cellar to enjoy a tasting of the famous wines. Our next stop will be the mechanical music cabinet museum, a magical place for all the senses. The museum is filled with music boxes and barrel organs created by craftspeople from the 18th to 20th centuries.  Each piece is considered a work of art.In the evening, the famous Drosselgasse awaits you with its numerous cafés, bars, and music. The ship will depart for Mannheim at the end of the evening.   

  • Day 6 Day 6: Rรผdesheim(3) - Mannheim - Heidelberg(2)

      We’ll arrive in Mannheim early in the morning. Hikers: Hiking along the Neckar River in Heidelberg. We’ll begin our excursion at the city’s famous red sandstone castle ruins. After our tour, we’ll set out on a hike along the Neckar, following the river from above—crossing through forests and taking in the great views from the cliffs—before arriving in Neckargemündand and seeing the Neckarsteinach castles. Once we arrive in Dilsberg, we’ll return to the ship by coach. You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch. (Approx. 5 hours, 8.7 miles (14 km), 1,1312-foot elevation gain (400m)). Non-hikers: Tour of Heidelberg. Heidelberg sits on the banks of the Neckar River and is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. We’ll visit the outside of the castle and have a guided tour on foot of the old town. The afternoon will be spent cruising along the Neckar and Rhine Rivers towards Strasbourg. Tonight is our festive gala evening.
