      Flight to Quito. The transfer to the small town of Otavalo brings you to the northern hemisphere for the last time for the next three weeks. During a welcome dinner together you will get in the mood for the trip. Overnight stay at the hotel.

      Along the "Road of the Volcanoes" we head south. In Cotopaxi National Park, the highest active volcano in the world of the same name towers with its classic cone shape and glacial cap. A walk reveals a magnificent view of Cotopaxiโ€™s massive lahar fields. Lunch at an Andean hacienda. Afterwards return to Quito. Overnight stay at the hotel.

      In the morning you will start exploring the Sacred Valley. From the imposing complex of ruins above Pisac, you will have a breathtaking view of the valley. In the late afternoon you will return to Cusco by train and bus. Overnight stay at the hotel.

      In the morning, your drive through the highlands begins. Small and large indigenous villages, herds of llamas and alpacas, and numerous snow-capped peaks adorn the landscape. Your destination is the pilgrimage site of Copacabana on the shores of the legendary Lake Titicaca. In the evening, a culinary experience awaits you: an "aptapi" meal typical of the region.       By boat you will cross over to Sun Island, where you can take a short hike. Enjoy the beautiful scenery with Lake Titicaca and the snow-capped peaks of the Royal Cordillera in the background! Afterwards, the boat will take you back to Copacabana, from where you will travel to La Paz, the highest seat of government in the world. Arrival in the late afternoon. A short walk through the narrow streets and colorful markets will give you a good impression of the metropolis of millions. The city is overlooked by the mighty Illimani (6438 m).       Transfer to the airport and flight to Uyuni, the gateway to the worldโ€™s largest salt desert of the same name. With four-wheel drive vehicles you will cross the huge salt lake with and visit, among other things, the salt processing village Colchani as well as the cactus island Incahuasi located in the middle of the Salar. The volcano Tunupa towers majestically above the Salar on the northern shore. In the evening you will experience the unique spectacle of the sunset in the salt desert.       Sugarloaf Mountain, a famous postcard motif, is also one of Rioโ€™s most beautiful viewpoints. Look down on the bay with its various beaches and the Atlantic rainforest. Optionally, take a helicopter tour (5-20 min, from about โ‚ฌ80). Your tour takes you through the colonial influenced old town in Rioโ€™s past. Afterwards transfer to the airport and journey home.
