  • Day 1 Pristina โ€“ Gracanica Monasteryโ€“ Ulpiana โ€“ Prizren
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Pristina โ€“ Gracanica Monasteryโ€“ Ulpiana โ€“ Prizren

Prepare for an unforgettable day of exploration as our professional tour guide picks you up from your hotel in Pristina. Our first stop takes us to the magnificent Gracanica Monastery, widely regarded as one of the most captivating religious sites in Kosovo. Stepping inside the church, itโ€™s important to respect the customs by covering your knees and shoulders, with women also wearing a headscarf. As you enter the grand chapel, your eyes are greeted by a plethora of medieval paintings that adorn the walls. However, it is the smaller chapel that truly astounds, with its vividly colored murals exuding an awe-inspiring charm. While photography is not permitted indoors, fear not, as the exterior of the monastery is equally picturesque, offering ample opportunities to capture its beauty.

Following our monastery visit, our tour proceeds to the unexpected marvel of Ulpiana. Surprising as it may seem, Kosovo boasts its own remnants of the Roman Empire. Ulpiana, an ancient city of immense historical significance, once thrived as a hub of political, economic, and cultural activities. As you explore the site, youโ€™ll encounter fascinating archaeological finds, including sculptures depicting a womanโ€™s head, a manโ€™s head, and a theatrical mask. Divisions between various rooms are still discernible, and some stones bear inscriptions dating back to the Roman era, providing glimpses into a bygone era of civilization.

Our final destination for the day is the captivating city of Prizren, widely regarded as the cultural capital of Kosovo. Prizren is a harmonious blend of rich history, stunning natural surroundings, religious diversity, and delectable gastronomy. Having served as an Illyrian settlement and a strategic crossroad for the Byzantine and Ottoman empires, the city boasts a unique architectural tapestry that reflects its multifaceted heritage. The flowing river meanders through the heart of the old town, gracefully passing beneath the numerous bridges that crisscross the cityscape. As you wander through the narrow streets, youโ€™ll be captivated by the elegant medieval houses vying for your attention. Prizren beckons exploration, offering an enchanting overnight experience that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression.

  • Day 2 Prizren โ€“ Prevalla National Park โ€“ Prizren
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Prizren โ€“ Prevalla National Park โ€“ Prizren

As the sun rises and breakfast beckons, we embark on our journey towards the enchanting Prevalla National Park. As we draw nearer, the majestic Sharr Mountains come into view, their grandeur growing with each passing moment. It is here, in this rugged mountainous terrain, that the Lepenci River finds its humble beginnings, meandering through the picturesque landscapes.

Prevalla National Park not only serves as a popular ski destination but also offers a breathtaking setting for an exhilarating hike. Upon reaching the village of Prevalla, we prepare to immerse ourselves in the awe-inspiring beauty of the Kosovar wilderness. With each step, we traverse landscapes that defy description, with panoramic vistas that seem to stretch into eternity. The invigorating air fills our lungs, rejuvenating both body and spirit as we explore the parkโ€™s trails, enveloped by natureโ€™s splendor.

    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Prizren โ€“ Rahovec โ€“ Mirusha Waterfalls โ€“ Place Near The Waterfalls

Today, our journey takes us westward through the picturesque landscapes of Kosovo. Our first stop is a true gemโ€”a winery nestled within the walls of a castle, surrounded by sprawling vineyards that seem to stretch to the horizon. Here, we have the pleasure of experiencing the rich flavors of Kosovoโ€™s wines, as we indulge in a delightful tasting session. The town of Rahovec proudly boasts its significance in Kosovoโ€™s wine industry, a tradition that dates back centuries. As a testament to the regionโ€™s long-standing viticulture, we encounter a remarkable sightโ€”the tombstone of an Illyrian soldier dating back to 28 B.C. Adorned with intricately carved grape motifs, this tombstone symbolizes the deep-rooted history of winemaking in the area.

Leaving Rahovec behind, our journey continues to another natural wonderโ€”Mirusha waterfalls. Standing apart from the other cascades in the Balkans, these waterfalls hold a special allure. The site is comprised of two distinct waterfalls, surrounded by stunning canyons formed by the relentless flow of water, amplifying the grandeur of the setting. During the winter months, a unique spectacle awaits as the waterfalls may be partially frozen, offering a breathtaking sight. In the summer, the cascading waters beckon, inviting you to take a refreshing dip in their inviting embrace. We find solace and rest near the waterfalls, allowing the serenity of the surroundings to envelop us during an overnight stay.

Tomorrow, we continue our exploration of the remarkable wonders that Kosovo has to offer, as we venture further into its captivating landscapes.

Today, our journey leads us to the captivating city of Gjakova. En route, we pause to visit the magnificent Monastery of Decan. This extraordinary monastery stands out with its pristine white exterior, but its true allure lies in the presence of Orthodox monks who still inhabit its hallowed grounds. Within its walls, these devoted individuals craft fresh organic delicacies, including delectable cheeses. The monastery earned its place on the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2004, owing to its remarkable frescoes that depict both the lives of people during the 14th century and the transformative Palaeologan Renaissance, which revolutionized Byzantine painting.

Continuing our journey, we arrive in Gjakova, a city renowned for its oldest and largest bazaar in Kosovo. Despite enduring destruction during the first Balkan Wars, World War II, and the Kosovo War, the bazaar has been painstakingly restored to its former glory. It stands as a testament to the resilience of the cityโ€™s inhabitants and provides a delightful ambiance for a leisurely meal or a delightful shopping experience, where traditional clothing and unique items can be found. Our exploration of Gjakova also includes visits to the iconic clock tower, a striking symbol of the cityโ€™s heritage, and the Hadum Mosque. The latter, built in the 16th century, miraculously survived the ravages of war and stands as a testament to the beginnings of Islamic architecture in the Balkans. Its awe-inspiring design, adorned with intricate arabesque decorations, offers a glimpse into the rich cultural tapestry of the region.

As the day draws to a close, we find tranquility in Gjakova, where we rest and rejuvenate for another day of remarkable discoveries that lie ahead.

  • Day 5 Gjakova โ€“ Peja โ€“ Rugova Valley
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

This poignant memorial complex comprises a memorial ground, a museum, and the house of the Adem Jashari family. The original house still bears the scars of the past, evident in the bullet holes that serve as a solemn reminder. Adem Jashari, a prominent figure, and 50 family members lost their lives in a tragic attack launched by the Serbian police force in 1998. Their untimely deaths sparked widespread protests across Kosovo and cemented Adem Jashariโ€™s status as a national hero. Continuing our journey, we venture to the city of Mitrovica, located in the northern part of Kosovo. This city is notable for its unique division, as it is split between an Albanian-populated area and a Serbian-populated area. Crossing the New Bridge, which serves as a symbolic boundary between the two halves, feels like entering a completely different city. Our exploration of Mitrovica takes us to the Xhamia e Zallit mosque, an architectural gem constructed in the Ottoman style. We also visit the Saint Demetrius church, built in the Orthodox style, representing the rich religious diversity of the city. Gazing into the distance, we catch sight of the Minerโ€™s monument atop a mountain. This monument, designed in 1973, stands as a tribute to the workers who lost their lives during the Second World War, serving as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made. As the day draws to a close, we find solace and rest in Mitrovica, where we spend the night, absorbing the historical and cultural tapestry that surrounds us.
