Cernavoda is located in the Romanian region of Dobruja and has a population of 17,000. It is also the place where the Danube-Black Sea Canal begins, shortening the distance to the Black Sea by over 300km. For this reason, the city also has a lock to regulate the water level between the Danube and the Black Sea.

Right next to the breathtaking statue of Decebalus carved in stone and the magnificent little church of Mraconia located in the Danube Valley one will find the village of Turnu Severin. This tranquil little town perfectly reflects Romanian life. Take a stroll through the center and discover the historical water tower or the ancient relics from the Roman times, such as the Trajan’s Bridge built in 102-105 AD.
