      The picturesque Wachau, jewel among landscapes, is one of the most beautiful regions of Austria. The old town of Krems on the Danube is also described as the gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Wachau. Accompany us through the winding streets of Krems and get to know the delightful town better (optional). Immerse yourself in the world of Kremsโ€™ winegrowers and enjoy a wine experience for all your senses at 8 stops. Afterwards, there is time to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery from on board while your ship sets course for the provincial capital. Even though a long day comes to an end towards evening, there is still one thing you should not miss: A visit to a typical Heurigen restaurant (optional).

      Day 3: Vienna

      Vienna is the city of music and joie de vivre, where Sachertorte and Heuriger are as famous as St. Stephenโ€™s Cathedral and the Spanish Riding School. Vienna is old and new at the same time - and so diverse. Year after year, the city attracts numerous visitors. You can discover the most important sights, such as the magnificent Ringstrasse and the State Opera House, on an optional city tour followed by a walking tour.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Esztergom - Danube Bend - Budapest

      Day 4: Esztergom - Danube Bend - Budapest

      On the castle hill above the city of Esztergom towers the Esztergom Cathedral, visible from afar. Today you should not miss the optional excursion to the Danube Bend. After visiting the cathedral and the crypt, you will travel by bus through the charming landscape of the Hungarian Wachau to Visegrad, where you will enjoy the view of the entire Danube Bend from a vantage point below the castle of the same name. On the way you will have an original Hungarian lunch in a typical restaurant (duration of the excursion approx. 5 h. Return to the ship in Budapest). Meanwhile the ship is on its way to Budapest. The city is situated on both sides of the river: on the western side the hilly Buda with the Castle Hill, the Castle and the Gellรฉrt Hill with the Citadel. East of the Danube is the flat Pest with the famous Parliament building. After lunch you will get a comprehensive impression of the metropolis during our city tour (optional) and get to know the impressive buildings on both banks of the Danube. In the evening you can join the excursion "Budapest by night" (optional), where you will experience Hungarian temperament with music and dance.

      Day 5: Budapest

      After a hearty breakfast on board we would like to take you to a "Csรกrda", a typical Hungarian inn. On the adjacent farmstead you will experience typical Hungarian horsemanship and traditional Hungarian specialties, before you are expected back on board around noon. From the ship, you will once again have a magnificent view of the immense neoclassical cathedral, which watches over Esztergom and the Danube bend from afar.

      Day 6: Bratislava

      In the morning you will arrive in Bratislava, the small but beautiful Slovak capital. During a sightseeing tour (optional) you will learn interesting facts about the history of the imposing castle, which was the residence of numerous Hungarian kings, and experience the beautiful old town. Celts, Romans, Hungarians, Jews and Slovaks have visibly left their traces in the city, which is reflected in a remarkable variety of architecture. The neat houses of the former Austro-Hungarian noble families look like small palaces.

      In the morning your ship reaches the Wachau again. The baroque Melk Abbey towers impressively above the town and is considered one of the most important spiritual and cultural centers in Austria. You have the opportunity to explore the remarkable baroque building during a tour (optional). Afterwards, enjoy the passing scenery on the last leg of your journey. In the evening, the 5-course captainโ€™s dinner awaits you on board to conclude an eventful week.
