Free time in Key West from around 11:30AM to 5PM

If you want to make the most of the Florida scenery, there’s only one way to do it, with a road trip to Key West. There’s so much to see on this trip and the journey is half the fun. You’ll cross 42 bridges and hop 32 islands before reaching the southernmost city in the continental U.S., Key West.

Once you’ve arrived you’ll be swept away by the Caribbean atmosphere, street artists, outdoor cafes, and restaurants. There’s plenty of time for you to explore the beautiful surroundings with around five hours to wander the streets of this picturesque town. You could visit the Hemingway House, take a trolley or train tour, go on a kayaking eco adventure, chill out on the beach, or go a dolphin-watching cruise. There are no pre-set activities included during this time so you can pick and choose depending on your interests.

Your itinerary might be free but there’s one thing you must do - grab a slice of famous key lime pie and enjoy. Once your time in Key West has come to an end you’ll head back to the coach for a comfortable return journey, enjoying the scenery as the sun sets over the ocean.

Get ready for a day of adventure and fun splashing around the waters of Miami. With Miami Water sports tickets, you’ll have your choice of paddle boarding or kayaking around Dinner Key Marina in Coconut Grove. It’s the perfect way to get around to the islands of Biscayne Bay.

For those who choose to kayak, you’ll be able to hop in a kayak alone or paddle with a friend. The Miami Water sports staff will provide you with life vests and paddles and will walk you through the rules of operating the vessel. Once you’ve got your paddling patterns down, you can hop in the kayak and flit around the bay.

For paddle boarders, you’ll have to operate the board solo. Paddle boards look relatively similar to surf boards, but they’re much larger and lighter. They offer the floating capabilities of a kayak with all the fun of a surf board. You’ll stand at the center of your board and using upper body and core strength, you’ll navigate around the water all while standing up!

The calm waters of Dinner Key Marina make for the perfect conditions. Swimmers and paddlers of all skill levels will be able to manage navigating the waters, as the marina is completely protected from the strong currents of the ocean. You’ll be able to float, swim, and splash just as much as you’d like in the warm blue water.

Once on the water, you can go anywhere you want! Paddle out to deeper to swim, stop at one of the bay’s tropical islands to have a picnic, or explore the coral gables water way. Experience a thrilling ride across the Everglades and learn all about the wetlands and its native inhabitants. There’s so much to see including, of course, plenty of gators. You'll pass a replica fishing camp and a palm and cypress wood structure called a chickee used by Native Americans. Then, you'll pick up speed and head through the tall sawgrass, which covers so much space that you’ll feel like you’re in an open prairie.

Your experienced, professional guide will be on hand to help you spot alligators, soft-shelled turtles, and exotic wading birds while providing the lively commentary. Keep your eyes peeled for the native snakes that also live in the waters, including the Blackpine, Brooks Kingsnake, Florida Kingsnake and Red Ratsnake.

A must-visit for animal lovers, the Lion Country Safari is two parks in one. You’ll enjoy a drive-through safari, spotting over 900 free-roaming animals, before getting a little closer to the creatures in the walk-through safari. See everything from big cats to ostriches, wildebeest, zebra, and more.

The four-mile drive-through safari is America’s first wildlife preserve divided into seven themed areas focusing on different natural habitats. After the driving safari, you can then go on foot to Safari World Amusement Park for a more hands-on experience. Come face-to-fin with South Florida’s marine life and explore a colorful underwater paradise. Whether you love being in the water, or love being on the water, you’ll enjoy this boat excursion to Fort Lauderdale’s beautiful coral reef.

You’ll head to Ft. Lauderdale Twin Ledges aboard Sea Experience’s 45-foot, fully-outfitted catamaran before dropping anchor for an hour for you to see what lies beneath. It’s not uncommon to see sea turtles, rays, and, of course, plenty of colorful, tropical fish. This stretch of shoreline is the closest to the warm waters of the Gulf Stream, meaning the temperatures are perfect for snorkeling and a gentle breeze will cool you off when you’re sunbathing deck on sun.
