  • Day 1 Day 1: The Heart Of The Colorado Plateau
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 1: The Heart Of The Colorado Plateau

In the heart of the Colorado Plateau lies one of the truly undiscovered gems of North America. The Dirty Devil River winds for over 90 miles through a maze of red rock canyons and is surrounded by some of the most rugged and remote wilderness landscapes of the American Southwest. Over the millennia, this small desert stream has carved a wilderness paradise of undulating slickrock. We will retrace the steps of previous inhabitants including the Fremont Native Americans as well as Butch Cassidy and the Wildbunch Gang on our 6.5 mile hiking route over sweeping, slickrock waves and domes. Enjoy a nourishing lunch while relishing the uncommon solitude and sublime views of Robberโ€™s Roost โ€“ the famous hideout of Butch Cassidy and the Wildbunch Gang. After lunch, the adventurous in the group will have the opportunity to scramble up a slot canyon. We will continue along the banks of the Dirty Devil River before making our ascent along the route used by the outlaws to evade the law on their way into Robberโ€™s Roost.

  • Day 2 Day 2: A Labryrinth Of Slot Canyons
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 2: A Labryrinth Of Slot Canyons

We will explore far off the grid today into Robberโ€™s Roost country โ€“ one of the most spectacular and remote wilderness areas in the United States. Todayโ€™s 6 mile hike brings us to the warm glow of a beautiful, photogenic slot canyon in the newly designated Labyrinth Canyon Wilderness area. This canyon will require a small amount of scrambling, but donโ€™t let that intimidate you on this family friendly adventure. As we return from the canyon, enjoy panoramic views of this seemingly endless playground of remote mountain ranges and hidden canyons. From here, we will drive to a neighboring 2.9 mile hike that leads us to a rare series of arches and stunning views of the Canyonlands region. After our full day of exploring, we will enjoy dinner along the banks of the Green River.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Summiting The Unknown Mountains
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 3: Summiting The Unknown Mountains

Previously called the Unknown Mountains, the Henry Mountains were the last mountain range to be mapped in the lower 48 United States. On our way towards the summit of the tallest peak, Mt. Ellen, we will stop to explore signs of prehistoric residents, relics of a once booming gold town, and if we are lucky, one of the few free roaming bison herds in the country. The 5.6 mile hike to the 11,522 foot summit leads to grand, sweeping views across the Colorado Plateau and a great vantage point of our canyon explorations.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Slickrock Delight
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 4: Slickrock Delight

A sea of slot canyons has been formed by the tributaries that ultimately feed into Lake Powell. Today we will explore one of these scenic canyons, following the twists and turns carved by water and wind, to admire the beauty and wonder of natureโ€™s artwork. This 6-mile hike contains the possibility of shallow wading in spots that only adds to the adventure. We will trek across slickrock domes while enjoying expansive views of the landscape on our return. Then marvel at the everchanging sunset colors on the water as we dine along Lake Powellโ€™s shore.

  • Day 5 Day 5: A Smorgasbord Of Canyon Country
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 5: A Smorgasbord Of Canyon Country

Our journey begins with a short scramble through aโ€ฏwild and serene slot canyon. Continuing on, we will hike along towering canyon walls decorated with multi-hued desert varnish and one of the most spectacular barrier-style pictograph panels in southern Utah. Towards the head of the canyon, weโ€™ll encounter a variety ofโ€ฏdramatic potholes,โ€ฏnatural bridges, andโ€ฏhanging gardens. At the top of the canyon, we reach the high point of our 2.5 mile hike with magnificent panoramic views ofโ€ฏRobbers Roost,โ€ฏCanyonlands,โ€ฏBears Ears, and theโ€ฏHenry Mountains. From here, weโ€™ll begin our descent down with a stop at an awe-inspiring natural arch and alcove once used byโ€ฏAncestral Puebloans.
