Day 1: Ouarzazate - Skoura Valley - Tamalout - Dades Valley - Tinghir

Your great Adventure with the Motorbike through the South of Morocco starts with the morning pick up in your accommodation in Ouarzazate. Today, we ride over will be mainly fast and smooth tracks in the morning, a good introduction to desert riding later on. A deep gravel river bed provides a challenge, though we make sure there are enough stops for you to catch your breath. We will offer riding tips as the day progresses for those who need them. A picnic lunch followed by another gravel river bed, then a traverse of a large plain on fast, packed clay tracks bring us to Tinghir, the mountain village where we will spend the night in a Standard Riad with dinner included.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Tinghir - Alnif - Taghbalt - Zagora/Draa Valley
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 2: Tinghir - Alnif - Taghbalt - Zagora/Draa Valley

Today, we start with an interesting tarmac road, which winds through the foothills of the High Atlas until we reach our first fuel and coffee stop, where we hit the dirt on a beautifully flowing track through the hills, whick gets increasingly rough and challenging throughout the morning. A steep, and if there has been recent rain, rocky mountain pass awaits us at the end of the morning. Enjoy your picnic lunch on the road side before the mountains are becoming increasingly canyon-like. A dramatic descent down the side of a canyon brings us out onto the green and lush Draa Valley. A delightful piste runs through the ancient mud walled villages of this famous region, though there is the option of following the assistance vehicle on road to the hotel if you prefer. Overnight in a Superior Riad in Zagora including dinner.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Zagora - Tamegroute - Mhamid - Erg Chigaga
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 3: Zagora - Tamegroute - Mhamid - Erg Chigaga

This morning after breakfast, we ride to the top of Jbel Zagora, the 300 m hill next to the city which offers fantastic views of the Draa Valley to the North, and the desert to the South. We then head South on old Rallye-tracks, where you can practice the skill of keeping the bike stable at high speed. After our picnic lunch we head off on the fast and flowing tracks that head west to the sand dunes of Chegaga. Upon arrival at the Desert Camp, we enjoy a break at the shade of the restaurant tent with some cold drinks before heading out into the dunes later in the afternoon for some dune practice. You will enjoy your inner at the desert camp, followed by music around the camp fire. Enjoy the starry sky, look for shooting stars and dance around the campfire!

  • Day 4 Day 4: Erg Chigaga - Lake Iriki - Foum Zguid - Tassint - Tata
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 4: Erg Chigaga - Lake Iriki - Foum Zguid - Tassint - Tata

Itโ€™s worth it to get up early today and to enjoy the dramatic desert sunrise on the top of a dune next to the camp before breakfast and โ€œkit upโ€. This morning, we continue the traverse of this section of the Sahara, heading west in direction Foum Zguid. Initially rocky, the piste quickly smoothes out, and we are soon sailing across the (usually) dry lake bed of Lake Iriki. Find out how fast a KTM will really go - if you dare.

We pick up an old Dakar-Rallye-piste which brings us into the town of Foum Zguid, where weโ€™ll enjoy our lunch. Fast and flowing tracks take us South, until we arrive at the Draa river bed, which we follow westwards. Some flat plains enable us to enjoy high-speed riding for much of the day, with occasional halts as we pass through some of the military check points that indicate our close proximity to Moroccoโ€™s Southern border with Algeria. Overnight in a Standard Riad in Tata with dinner.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Tata - Akka - Icht - Assa
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 5: Tata - Akka - Icht - Assa

Continuing in a south-westerly direction today, we follow the Draa river heading towards the coast. Some very enjoyable, little used tracks are awaiting us; fast and flowing with some sandy sections. A detour in the afternoon takes us along a palmtree lined desert canyon where there are Neolithic rock paintings. Again, a picnic โ€œon the roadโ€ for lunch. Overnight in a Standard Riad in Assa including dinner.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Assa - Anti Atlas - Tan-Tan - Tafnidilt
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 6: Assa - Anti Atlas - Tan-Tan - Tafnidilt

A short tarmac stretch to start the day takes us to the end of the tarmac road in this lightly-populated and -travelled area of the country. Weโ€™ll pass through our final โ€œcheck pointโ€ of the tour as we leave Torkoz, before we head East across the rocky flood plains of the Anti Atlas mountains. We cross two mountain passes, before an afternoon drink stop at the impressive deserted Foreign Legion fort of El Aiyoun du Draa. A further hour off-road brings us out onto the Tan-Tan road, just North of the Draa river. Due to these tracks being lightly used by tourist traffic, many of the tracks we cover are poorly maintained, requiring a high level of concentration. Picnic lunch along the road.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Tafnidilt - Sidi Ifni - Mirleft
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 7: Tafnidilt - Sidi Ifni - Mirleft

We experience our last taste of the desert this morning as our first piste brings us out to the Atlantic coast.  Weโ€™ll follow a rugged coastal track for the rest of the morning which brings us to our lunch stop at the former French Foreign Legion Fort BouJerif. Our afternoon track will lead us down onto the beach where weโ€™ll ride past 2 rusting ship-wrecks. We continue northward up the coast to the small town of Mirleft where weโ€™ll enjoy the night at a popular surfer & biker Auberge. Weโ€™ll arrive in plenty of time to enjoy the sunset over the waves.

  • Day 8 Day 8: Mirleft - Aglou - Oulad Berhil
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 8: Mirleft - Aglou - Oulad Berhil

After a short tarmac liason, weโ€™ll continue northward up the Atlantic coast on a spectacular piste that combines sand and coastal scenery. Be sure to have your camera ready!  After a picnic lunch, weโ€™ll head in-land following twisty, sandy pistes. Weโ€™ll make good use of the GPS to make sure we find our way through the maze of criss-crossing tracks. Weโ€™ll spend the night in a local Kasbah-Auberge in Oulad Berhil including dinner.

  • Day 9 Day 9: Ouled Berhil - High Atlas - Agafay - Marrakech
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 9: Ouled Berhil - High Atlas - Agafay - Marrakech

Our final day of riding will be one of the most spectacular ones as we climb up and over the High Atlas mountains. The morning piste includes twisty mountain tracks, which are taking us to an altitude of 2โ€™400 m.  A steep descent follows on the other side which will bring us down past an abandoned French gold mine.  Weโ€™ll enjoy a delicious lunch at a small Berber Restaurant. A twisty tarmac liaison to start the afternoon will allow you to try out your supermoto skills as we follow a river valley down to the start of our final piste. The last piste of the tour takes us up on top of the Plateau de Kik, and then down into Marrakech.

Overnight in Marrakech in a Superior Riad (no dinner included).

  • Day 10 Day 10: Fullday City Tour In Marrakech
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Stroll through the Jewish Quarter and notice the difference in architecture in this district. Visit the hidden Saadian tombs built during the reign of Sultan Ahmed El Mansour in 1557.

Youโ€™ll arrive at the Koutoubia mosque and the Djemaael Fna-square, where you can drink some fresh pressed orange juice while observing the bustle of the snake charmers, henna tatoo artists and water sellers.

After lunchbreak in one of the numerous restaurants near Jemaa el Fna, youโ€™ll visit the beautiful Majorelle Garden in the afternoon. This botanical garden is a quiet oasis and the formerhome of the famous french designer Yves Saint Laurent. Nowadays, the bright blue villa contains a Berber Museum.
