Delhi City Tour

A guided tour of both Old and New Delhi today will introduce you to the Jama Masjid, Qutab Minar, India Gate, Parliament House, Humayun’s Tomb and the Sikh temple. These sights are purely suggestive. You’re very welcome to tweak them with us in advance to best suit your interests, or even on the day itself by discussing with your guide at the time (we’re known for our flexible approach, allowing you complete control over the pace of your trip). After exploring the bustling capital, return to The Hotel in the evening.

After breakfast, you’ll be driven to Agra via a 3-4 hour drive on the expressway. Arrive in Agra, a medieval city on the banks of the Yamuna River founded by Sultan Sikandar Lodi in the year 1506. Agra achieved fame as the capital of the Mughal emperors from 1526 to 1658 and is famous for its many splendid Mughal-era buildings. Most notably the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and Fatehpur Sikri, all of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Arrive in Agra, and check in at the hotel. After freshening up, meet your Guide in the Hotel Lobby. Start your tour with Agra Fort which is a historical fort in the city of Agra. It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty until 1638. You’ll have ample time to see the Fort and enjoy its magnificent architecture. Then visit Mehtab Bagh This garden was the last of eleven Mughal-built gardens along the Yamuna opposite the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. This garden was built by Emperor Babur but Emperor Shah Jahan had identified this site as an ideal location for the beautiful view of the Taj Mahal during Sunset. Return to the hotel. At 5.45 AM, meet your guide and visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise. The design of this magnificent mausoleum and four gardens are structured on the Islamic theme of paradise built by a king as the final resting place of his favorite wife. After visiting the Taj Mahal at Sunrise, come back to the hotel, freshen up, and have your breakfast. After Breakfast, check out and you will be driven to Fatehpur Sikri {36 kms/1 hour}, built by Mughal Emperor Akbar the Great in the 16th century to serve as the capital of his vast empire. It was mysteriously abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. Today, it is perfectly preserved as a ghost city built at the height of the empires. Continue your journey. arrive at Jaipur.
