      Flight to Muscat. If you book your flight through ASI Reisen, you will be picked up at the airport by an ASI representative and driven to the hotel.

      Day 2: Muscat And The Mystery Of The Orient

      In the morning at 09:00 welcome by the ASI guide at the reception. After getting to know each other, we will experience the treasures of Muscat, the capital of Oman. The day begins with a visit to the Sultan Qaboos Mosque. The tour takes us past imposing sights such as the Royal Opera House and the Sultan’s Palace. In the district of Muttrah we stroll through the fish market and the traditional Muttrah Souq. In addition to gold and silverware, incense, scented oils and spices are on sale.

  • Day 3 Day 3: Impressive Canyons And The Vastness Of The Desert

      Day 3: Impressive Canyons And The Vastness Of The Desert

      Drive along the coast to Sur with a stop in Tiwi and short walk in the palm-fringed Wadi Shab. A simple ferry boat takes us to the other side of the valley and we first walk through lush green gardens until we reach one of the first emerald green rock pools. We then drive to Sur, the center of traditional Arab wooden shipbuilding. After visiting a shipyard and the open-air museum, we continue to the Sharquiyah Sands desert. With a camel we ride on the dune to the sunset.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Through Oasas Valleys To Nizwa

      Day 4: Through Oasas Valleys To Nizwa

      The day begins with a visit to one of the most beautiful, still inhabited oasis valleys: Wadi Bani Khaleed. After a short walk we reach natural swimming pools: freshwater pools that invite you to swim. Afterwards we get an insight into the cultivation and irrigation of the farms and gardens at the edge of the desert. We picnic Bedouin style, surrounded by palm and mango trees. Afterwards we drive to the Hajar Mountains to Nizwa.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Idyllic Misfath Al Abreen

      Day 5: Idyllic Misfath Al Abreen

      Nizwa is the spiritual and cultural center of the Sultanate. In the morning we visit the city, continue to Jabrin and stop at the fortress of Bahla, a UNESCO heritage site. In the afternoon we reach the idyllic mountain village of Misfath al Abreen, situated on the slopes of a canyon and surrounded by lush green terraced fields. During a tour of the gardens and the adobe village center, we get an insight into agriculture in the mountains of the Sultanate.

  • Day 6 Day 6: The "Grand Cayon" Of Oman

      Day 6: The "Grand Cayon" Of Oman

      In the morning we visit the stalactite cave at Al Hoota. Al Hoota Cave, estimated to be over 2 million years old, is located at the foot of Jabal Shams, the epic mountain of Oman. It is the first and only show cave in the Arabian Peninsula with a total length of about 4.5 kilometers, but only 500 meters of it are open to the public.

      Afterwards we continue our journey through Wadi Ghul to the Jebel Shams Plateau. From here we enjoy an unforgettable view of the "Grand Canyon" of Oman.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Al Hamra And The Traditional Life Of The Omani People

      Day 7: Al Hamra And The Traditional Life Of The Omani People

      We visit Al Hamra, a settlement built of clay, and get an insight into the former everyday culture of Oman at Bai Al Safah. We continue to the oasis of Birkat Al Mowz at the foot of Jebel Akhdar. There we can visit one of the oldest irrigation systems, the so called Falaj Al Khatmin (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the old mud ruins of the village. In the afternoon we will drive back to Muscat.
