You open your eyes in the morning and can hardly wait to get started on your Montenegro adventure! The capital of the Balkan state is ready to impress you. How about a self-made city tour including coffee breaks in hip cafรฉs? Podgorica also has plenty of other culinary delights to offer: Fans of local cuisine in particular will be happy here. Want to get out of the city and feel the real road trip vibes? Then get in your rental car and head to Lake Skadar! The associated national park is the most visited in the country and as soon as you get there, youโ€™ll know why: the lake shimmers bright blue, while the surrounding hills are the most lush green youโ€™ve ever seen! The possibilities for exploring the area are endless: hiking, kayaking, on a boat tour... take your pick (optional, payable locally)!
  • Day 3 Day 3: Small But Mighty: Into The Last Wilderness Of Europe!
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 3: Small But Mighty: Into The Last Wilderness Of Europe!

Todayโ€™s road trip takes you into the Montenegrin hinterland to one of the countryโ€™s hidden gems. First stopover: the Mrtvica Canyon. This is where the untouched nature makes itself felt for the first time: Steep cliffs, trees densely covered in moss and crystal-clear water - plus the fairytale Danilo Bridge. Just a few kilometers further on is the Moraฤa Monastery on your way, a Serbian Orthodox monastery and one of the most visited cultural and religious sites in Montenegro. Photos in the can?
Your next destination: the smallest national park in Montenegro, Biogradska Gora. Despite its size of just 54 kmยฒ, it has a lot to offer: An enormous variety of flora and fauna as well as one of the last primeval forests in Europe, including the idyllic Lake Biogradsko Jezero. Walk the almost three-kilometre loop around the lake or hike along other designated trails and soak up the tranquil atmosphere. Finally, your accommodation awaits you: put your feet up and enjoy some well-earned relaxation!
  • Day 4 Day 4: Action Time: Outdoor Adventure On The Black Lake
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 4: Action Time: Outdoor Adventure On The Black Lake

Todayโ€™s motto: put on your hiking boots and get behind the wheel - action is the order of the day! Today youโ€™re heading towards Durmitor National Park along the impressive Tara Gorge. The entire region around the river Tara is predestined for all kinds of adventures: whitewater rafting, ziplining across the meter-high gorge or the Nevidio Canyon, which offers perfect conditions for canyoning (all activities can be booked on site as an option). Not an adrenaline junkie, but still donโ€™t want to miss out on the beauty of Durmitor National Park? Head to the "Black Lake" Crno Jezero! The beautiful glacial lake owes its name to the dark shadows that the deep green spruce, fir and pine trees on its shores cast on the mirror-smooth surface. A 3.6 km long circular path winds around the lake, where there are always opportunities for refreshment. Alternatively, you can also enjoy the beauty of the lake from a canoe or kayak (optional, payable on site).
  • Day 5 Day 5: Like A Painting: The Bay Of Kotor!
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 5: Like A Painting: The Bay Of Kotor!

You leave the Montenegrin hinterland and head for the coast. However, you should not miss out on a little detour: The Ostrog Monastery, which nestles impressively against a rock face and can only be reached via narrow serpentines. The famous pilgrimage site is worth a visit for the beautiful view over the valley alone!
Is a fine sea breeze slowly blowing towards you? Then your destination canโ€™t be far away: the Bay of Kotor! The turquoise blue water, framed by the mountain panorama, is more beautiful than any travel guide. Colorful boats bob in the harbor and winding alleyways are reminiscent of old baroque times. Follow your route to your accommodation in Perast. Leave your rental car in the collective parking lot (payable on site) and use the free shuttle to get to your hotel. And now? How about a stroll through the old town? From the bell tower of the Church of St. Nicholas, you have a great view over the city, the glittering sea and the monastery islands of Sveti ฤorฤ‘e and Gospa od ล krpjela. Enjoy the Venetian vibes while watching the most beautiful sunset of your life!
  • Day 6 Day 6: Perast: Dream Views At The Highest Mausoleum In The World!
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 6: Perast: Dream Views At The Highest Mausoleum In The World!

A must even for morning grouches: a morning stroll along Perastโ€™s waterfront promenade. This is where the baroque old town reveals its full beauty! Then get into your rental car and follow the eastern route along the bay to the eponymous town of Kotor. Take some time to stroll through the old town and hike up to the fortโ€™s viewpoint. Soak up the unique view one last time and make sure you never forget this image again! Enough images in your head? Then put the pedal to the metal again and head up the Kotor switchbacks to Lovฤ‡en National Park and the highest mausoleum in the world (optional, payable on site)! Once at the top, the view of the mountain landscape of Montenegro will leave you speechless. After the ascent, itโ€™s back downhill until you can smell the salty sea air again. What else is in the air? The feeling of being in exactly the right place!
