  • Day 1 Longyearbyen And Prins Karls Foreland

      Longyearbyen And Prins Karls Foreland

      Our Svalbard cruises depart from Longyearbyen, which is easily accessible via daily flights from Oslo in Norway. After welcoming the guests on board our newest vessel MV Vikingfjord we will leave the port of Longyearbyen in the afternoon and head towards Prins Karls Foreland. Always keep in mind that our schedule is flexible to allow us to see as much as possible.

  • Day 2 Prins Karls Foreland

      On day 2 we arrive at Prins Karls Foreland where we will do a shore landing to visit a walrus colony. In the afternoon we will head north and attempt a clockwise circumnavigation of Spitsbergen.

  • Day 3 Ny-Alesund

      Ny-Alesund

      The following day we plan to stop by the scientific community of Ny-Alesund, the most northerly settlement on earth. Here you can visit an interesting museum and some historical sites with our guides.

  • Day 4 Kongsfjord And Ice Edge

      Kongsfjord And Ice Edge

      As we continue we will include several stops in the area of Kongsfjorden and the fjords that branch into it. Expect to witness impressive calving glaciers and breathtaking scenery from the deck. Here we will drop anchor and visit one of Svalbardยดs largest glacier fronts, the Lilliehook glacier. In the afternoonn there will be an opportunity to do hikes ashore.

  • Day 5 Kongsfjord And Ice Edge

      If the conditions allow we will then head north and sail up to the edge of the sea ice which extends all the way to the North Pole.

  • Day 6 Nordaustlandet And Hinlopen Strait

      Nordaustlandet And Hinlopen Strait

      Over the next day we will sail along the north coast to visit different sites including glaciers, do wilderness hikes and spend some time enjoying the raw nature of the Arctic. Our guides are always on the lookout for wildlife that could include polar bears that are very know to roam this area.

      Depending on the sea ice conditions, we aim to continue sailing along the north coast to get to the island of Nordaustlandet and cruise along the Austfonna Ice Cap, the largest ice cap in the northern hemisphere.

      If the sea ice conditions donยดt allow us to access then the we have the option to head south through the Hinlopen Strait. Our dailiy activities focus on exploring the wilderness of this area by zodiac or hikes.

  • Day 9 Southern Spitsbergen

      Southern Spitsbergen

      We will sail towards the south of Spitsbergen and explore the region along the south coast. Our plan is to visit rarely visited landing sites and do lots of hikes, zodiac cruising and wildlife scouting.

  • Day 10 Southern Spitsbergen

      Southern Spitsbergen

      As we sail along the southern tip of Spitsbergen, we will reach the area around Hornsund where we will have a day to explore.

  • Day 11 Southern Spitsbergen

      On our final day we will head back and sail north along the coast towards Longyearbyen.

      Back in the port of Longyearbyen we will share a final breakfast together. After our epic 14-day Svalbard circumnavigation, our journey comes to an end and we say our goodbyes.

      The itinerary is a guide only. On every expedition we are dependent on working and cooperating with the weather and ice conditions. Keep in mind that our expedition leader will make sure you see as much as possible.
