      Day 1: Durban - Port Edward

      (Saturday) Individual arrival at The Edward Hotel in Durban, where the round trip starts at around 4 p.m. heading south to Port Edward. Alternatively, the tour starts at 3:30 pm at the Protea Hotel by Marriott Umhlanga. Enjoy a walk along the beach on arrival. Dinner can be enjoyed at one of the resortโ€™s restaurants (not included).   • Day 2 Day 2: Port Edward - Mthatha

      Day 2: Port Edward - Mthatha

      (Sunday) After breakfast, stroll along the ocean and enjoy some free time. In the late morning, continue along the scenic N2 to Mthatha. Lunch en route (not included).       (Monday) Walk in the footsteps of Nelson Mandela, a visit to the museum of the same name provides an insight into his impressive life and his struggle for a new South Africa. Via Qunu, the place known as Nelson Mandelaโ€™s home and burial site, you reach the picturesque coastal town of Port Alfred on the Sunshine Coast. It was founded by British settlers at the mouth of the Kowie River in the 19th century and has since developed from a fishing village into a small town with a large marina. Round off the day with a pleasant stroll along the harbor. Arrival at the hotel. One night at The Royal St. Andrews (upper middle class). Approx. 365 km (breakfast, dinner)

  • Day 4 Day 4: Port Alfred - Knysna

      Day 4: Port Alfred - Knysna

      (Tuesday) After breakfast, enjoy a boat trip (weather permitting) along the Kowie River. You will then continue your journey along the famous Garden Route. The ecological diversity, with extensive primeval forests, rivers and lagoons as well as seemingly endless sandy beaches, lives up to its name. Enjoy lunch (not included) in Tsitsikamma and take a short walk to the suspension bridge over the Storms River. Arrive at the hotel in Knysna in the afternoon.   • Day 5 Day 5: Knysna - Oudtshoorn

      Day 5: Knysna - Oudtshoorn

      (Wednesday) Today you will take a short orientation drive through Knysna with a stop at a viewpoint, which offers great photo opportunities of the lagoon and the Knysna Heads. You will then travel over the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of South Africa. Take part in a guided tour of one of the many farms (not included) and learn a lot about the rearing of these impressive ratites. Donโ€™t miss out on a visit to the world-famous Cango Caves (not included). You can end the evening relaxing in the hotel bar.   • Day 6 Day 6: Oudtshoorn - Cape Town

      (Thursday) After breakfast, the tour continues west along the R62 to South Africaโ€™s most famous wine-growing region, the Cape Winelands. Observe how nature changes from a red semi-desert to a green wine-growing region. In the Robertson Vine Valley, you will stop at one of the wine estates and have the opportunity to take part in a wine tasting and cellar tour (not included).
